~ WebWarrior's Original Xena Page ~

Words and Lyrics for Xenites whose Obsessions MUST be Fed!
This site contains lyrics of the Xena/Hercules Animated Movie, "Bitter Suite" episode, and the series' openning title.

This page was originally posted in 1998 and was dedicated to my nieces and nephews who had to wait TWO WEEKS to watch the Xena episodes since they spent weekends at my house only every two weeks! They loved the eps and the animated movie, and "Bitter Suite" had made quite an impact...

Greek and English Lyrics

Xena: Warrior Princess - Main Title
Jenata iazdi samotna
Neinoto minalo srazi ia
Sreshtu voiskite ot tumen sviat
Vouva za dobro tia
Rogovi zvunove idavt
Napraite put na voina!
Tupani biat vuv ritum
Princhesata e pak tuka!

The Warrior Princess rides alone
Her past drives her from shame
Against the forces of a dark world
She fights for good, not for fame.
Horns sound her coming, blare her name
"Make way the Warrrior! Cheer!"
Drums beat a rhythm
Let villains beware
The Warrior Princess is here!

Xena: Warrior Princess - The Gauntlet
Pozora ia izgori povetche
Ot hiliada udara
Tova rasbi duha I
Tova koeto ne moge
Da ia ubie
Ia pravi po silna, po silna.

Disgrace burns more
Than a thousand blows,
It shatters the Spirit,
And sufficates the mind.
Can faith be born of ashes
And grow to fight another day?
What doesn't kill her makes her stronger
The Warrior Princess stands again.

For those of you who haven't seen Hercules & Xena-The Animated Movie: The Battle for Mount Olympus video, (which is cool and worth adding to your Xena/Herc collection just because of this one song), and for those of you who don't want to see it on principle, but might consider getting it just so that you can hear Lucy Lawless' beautiful voice and Joseph Lo Ducas' wonderful score, here are the lyrics and part of a sound bite featuring "Xena." If you are a die-hard fan, you won't be able to resist getting it AND the soundtrack when it is released!

I Don't Know What to Do

I went and let the bad guys win,
Look what they did to you.
I thought I was a warrior,
Still, I failed somehow.
So tell me, what do I do now?

I thought if I did my best,
I'd never make mistakes.
I'd always win the battle,
No matter what it takes.
I keep my friends from danger:
That's my sacred vow.
So tell me, what do I do now?

Hear me silver sister moon,
Shining in the blue.
Had I wings to fly away,
I would fly to you.
But that's not what warriors do.

Maybe there's more to being human,
Than acting brave and strong.
Maybe it's listening to you heart,
And knowing when you're wrong.
It's keeping the faith and trusting
You'll come through somehow,
And maybe, that's what I'll do now.
I believe we'll come through me and you,
That's what I'll do now.

Bitter Suite

There are spoilers here - if you have not seen "Bitter Suite," be warned!

Although not everyone might agree that the resolution of the Xena/Gabrielle rift might have been accomplished any other way, I commend the writers and producers for their bold attemp. I tend to agree that it could not have been accomplished any other way, since the two friends bare their souls with such vengance, and to do so in song allows for so much more to be expressed - plain dialogue would have been too heavy.
Of course, it is also a showcase for Lucy Lawless, who has a fine voice.

The following are the lyrics as Xena & Gabrielle's begin "hashing things out" in the hall of columns, where the past deafens them, but the present has the posibilities of getting through the pain.

Xena:
My heart is hurting beyond words,
The pain is tearing up my soul.
These days have seen my spirit die,
My life propelled out of control.

My wounds lie naked to the world,
My depth of suffering exposed.
These damaged paths can never heal,
Until this nightmare book is closed.

Gabrielle:
My heart is hurting beyond words,
The pain is tearing up my soul.
Please tell me how can I retrieve,
The life that all this sadness caused.

Because of you this happened,
Because you had to carry out your vengeful little plans.

Xena:
It's you who should feel guilty,
Because of you my child is dead,
His blood is on your hands.

Gabrielle:
If only you had never brought me there...

Xena:
If only you had done what you were told...

Gabrielle:
It's you who's to be blamed...

Xena:
And you should be ashamed...

Gabrielle:
It's YOUR fault...

Xena:
No, it's YOURS...

Gabrielle:
How COULD you...

Xena:
How could YOU!

As the argue, they are both cast into another nightmare, Gabrielle and Xena both pulled into a vortex by Dahak, then evil figures appear, Xena winds up on a cross with an evil Gabrielle ready to break her legs and an evil Xena ready to plunge a dagger into a Gabrielle shackled on an altar. They continue to work out their anger and hate.

Xena:
I never dreamed that we'd be distanced by a hate,
That all the trust we had would go...

Gabrielle:
How could I hate you....

Xena:
How could it come to pass this awful twist of fate...

Gabrielle:
How could I hurt you...

Xena:
This madness can't be so.

Gabrielle:
I can't believe it...

Xena:
I never dreamed that any barriers could rise.

Gabrielle:
Or that I'd ever see the stranger in your eyes.

Xena:
Our hearts were hurting both the same....

Gabrielle:
The hurt was tearing up our souls...

Xena:
The fury in us made us blind...

Gabrielle:
We could not see beyond the pain...

Xena:
If we could turn again to love...

Gabrielle:
If we can heal these open wounds...

Xena:
We'll leave this hatred far behind.

Gabrielle:
So not a trace of hatred pains...

Xena & Gabrielle:
We'll overcome our damaged past,
And we'll grow stronger side by side,
Two stand together through the storm,
We're safe as love will be our guide.

At the end of this all the evil figures explode, and Xena and Gabrielle are freed, and they see Solon, and realize that he is the reason they are there and he is now the way home. He is just beyond a gap and a waterfall, and Gabrielle crosses the waterfall but to leave the place of evil, but Xena can't... there is another figure hovering above...Ming Tien. Xena then owns up to her deed and asks both Gabrielle and Solon for forgiveness.

Yes, I lied.
Thought I could protect you from the truth.
Deliver you from evil,
Spare your innocence and youth.
That I could simply will it,
Was the real untruth.
I was wrong,
I wore a mask to cover my deceit.
But underneath it all
I couldn't keep away my doubt,
Now I'm left without a mask,
And one question left to ask.

I'm sorry, please help me, forgive me.
Don't hate me, don't leave me, forgive me.
Forgive me my debt, as only you could,
Forgive me the hatred, replace evil with good
Forgive me and find out that you,
Will be able to forgive yourself, too.

My dear Solon,
I never told you that you were my son,
I didn't know the days we had left were so few,
If I only knew, I'd have been with you.
I'm so sorry, I couldn't be the mother you deserved,
And I regret that I missed your first step
Ad your first word, that I never heard,
Now it seems absurd.

Can youforgive me,
Open up your heart and let me in.
No matter if the fates against us turn,
There's one thing though all of this I' ve learned.
That what I n Aeed from you
Is to forgive me,
I'm sorry, believe me,
Stop hating, stop hurting,
Forgive me.
Forgive those who'd harm you,
Do good for those who hate,
Forgive if not forget,
I know it's not too late.
Forgive me and you'll discover, too,
That the love of your love is you!

After this heartfelt song, Gabrielle is able to help Xena cross over to
her and Solon, where she is able to say good bye to him and go back to the
real world with Gabrielle, where the friends embrace once again, the anger
and pain apparently resolved.
