It's a Squirrel's life

Postby badsquirrel » Thu Jun 19, 2008 1:52 pm

four days ago, i was typing away on my story. while i was concentrating, my 4-year-old nephew snuck into my room with a pair of scissors and cut off six inches of my hair before i realized what he was doing. *sigh* i'm not so bushy tailed as i once was. and no, i did not kill him. i didn't even yell at him. i want major karma points for that.

yesterday, i got a forty cent raise. woohoo. i just don't know how i'm going to spend all of my newfound wealth. maybe i'll take myself out to a movie.

do you think the raise was a karmic balance?

And just what were you writing that had you so involved that that you missed something like that? 6" is a lot of hair. Don't tell me you actually listened to The QMBG and were adding MORE SEX!!

figured something out about myself. don't know why it took so long.

what i am writing affects my moods. if i'm writing something i think is funny, i'm a riot. if i'm doing something sexy, i'm...well, you know. if i'm writing something painful, i spend my time trying not to cry.

curious to know if other writers have the same problem. or maybe it's just another sign of how freakish i am.

Wow, that must have been some scene if you didn't feel your hair being cut! I think sacrificing 6 inches of hair is worth way more karmic points than a 40 cent raise.

BTW, love all of your stories though I can't argue with QMBG's mantra... :big grin:

it is now official...i am the one to follow...i know all...i see all...i am all...now that everyone understands that we can move towards creating a better karma...

here are the official top five rules for getting a better karma:

5. listen to the QMBG
4. pay attention to what the QMBG says
3. learn from QMBG's wisdom
2. agree with QMBG

and the number 1 rule to creating better karma

1. more sex, more sex, more sex

now that we know the rules,

starting tomorrow i have an entire week off of work! (i was going to insert some celebratory exclamations and hysterical merriment here, but i've been staring at this space for over ten minutes and it just ain't coming to me. my muse is drop dead tired.)

my point in mentioning this is that one way or another i'm going to finish my story this week. i'm so close. just got a few more pages to go. then i've got to get on my knees and beg the QMBG to beta it for me. (just the last chapter. the rest is ready to go.) she works pretty quick, so i should be able to post The Dark Side of the Moon in a week or two.

then i'm going to take a nap. gotta recharge the batteries cause the next story is already begging to get out.

ya'll have a great fourth of july. be safe. don't drink and drive.

whoo hooo, a new story soon :not worthy:

I can hardly wait, it's almost worth holding my breath for, except then I'd be dead and wouldn't get to enjoy future badsquirrel stories.

I finished! Woo hoo!

now i just have to wait for the QMBG to fit me into her schedule. she's a very busy woman you know. while i'm waiting in line, i've got to go back and write MORE SEX in part three and maybe even part four. hoping like hell to get it all together by the end of the week.

it's all on QMBG's shoulders now. considering all the other good work she's trying to beta read, she might need some encouragement from all of you. don't be rude or pushy. that doesn't go over well. say things like, "i can't wait to see how much better badsquirrel's writing is now that you've been working with her". or, "thank god you told her to put more sex in the story...the last ones put me to sleep". or even, "badsquirrel's earlier stuff wasn't bad, but i'm sure it'll be so much better now because of you." she eats that crap up. if you throw the word worship in there, so much the better.

all kidding aside, the QMBG really has been a huge help. not just with grammar and spelling and puncuation, but with motivation to work faster and helping me see my characters flaws and virtues more clearly. some of the details that make the story work come straight from her.

although, i'm not real sure what she hopes to accomplish by teaching me to talk dirty.

*humongous sigh*

it's all done and i just submitted 'the dark side of the moon'. it probably won't be posted until next week. gotta let the atheneum ladies have some time off now and then.

as for me, i'm sick. got some kind of bug that is making me feel miserable. but that isn't stopping me. in between trips to the bathroom to empty my belly, i'm working away. i've already got 32 pages on my next story and a great title. QMBG brainstormed with me and came up with a gem.

i'm really hoping the next story doesn't take as long as this one did.

but in the meantime, i really hope you like 'dark side'. it's a lot longer than my previous stories, but jordan and sarah just wouldn't quit.

Badsquirrel,

Your new story....ok, we know that it starts with a lap dance. (always a good start as far as i'm concerned!) :winking2: and we know that you and QMBG brainstormed and came up with a gem of a title....but, how is it going and are you going to enlighten us with the title or are you just teasing us again?

i'm teasing you, of course.

but it really does start with a lap dance. not that i really know anything at all about lap dances. never had one. never gave one. never seen one. but that won't stop me...NO! that's the really great thing about being a writer. toss in a disclaimer or two and you can write things however you want. reality is no barrier to having a good time.

wow. maybe i'll put that on a t-shirt.
