Looking for two Conqueror stories

Good day, I'm looking for two Conqueror stories (they may even be the same one, but I don't think they are) and I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out.

1) Xena is the Conqueror and she's somehow met Gabrielle (slave? rebel? amazon queen? other?)... but somehow the different pieces of Xena become separated, in her mind, I think... or maybe Amazon um... deadlands. Gabrielle has to try to put them back together. I distinctly recall one named the Beast, one that was her teen self, and one that was a little girl. There may have been one that was the Warrior Princess and the Conqueror as well, but I can only remember the first three with certainty.

2) Again, Xena is the Conqueror. Xena is wandering in the evening in Corinth (or wherever her capital is in this fic) when she hears a slave owner starting to discipline his slave (or maybe it was his wife... it might be Gabrielle, I really don't remember) with a stick. Xena gets angry, and tells him to stop, and he says that he's within 'the rule of thumb', and isn't breaking any laws. That's the entire of the scene I remember with certainty.

Some of my favourite conqueror stories. (except it's Gabrielle who comes across the husband who invokes the rule of thumb).

I think the second might be Pretium Silenti (The Price of Silence) by Spyrel...I do believe that your description matches a scene in the story anyway...
