Forum Rules. Please read before posting.

Everyone is welcomed to share their thoughts on our alt.-friendly forums so long as they abide by a few rules.

  1. Conversations must stay polite, considerate, intelligent, and mature. Please don't use the anonymity of the Internet as an excuse to behave obnoxiously. Rude, impolite, or otherwise trollish behavior as well as personal attacks on forum members or bards will not be tolerated.
  2. A Spoiler Warning is required when mentioning important plot elements of a story, movie, or television show.
  3. Anyone may start a new topic of conversation. Try to generally stay on topic though. If you wish to talk about something unrelated to a current topic, start a New Topic on the Forum.
  4. Critiquing the work of a writer on our forums is allowed ONLY if the Bard specifically requests it, and consents to it being posted on this forum.
  5. We reserve the right to remove any post that violates the above rules.
  6. Read rule #1 again. ;-)
As always, please be mindful that authors often spend hundreds of hours working to create something. They usually receive nothing for the effort, and they are giving you a lot – even those authors whose stories you might not happen to like or appreciate.

For more information on how to use the features of this forum, please see the FAQ.

An addendum to the above rules:
Posting links to stories on other sites is permitted, however posting links to stories on porn sites is not allowed.

If you’re a writer and would like your name listed on the front page of our Forum under the heading Bard Forums, please let me know via PM or e-mail. There are a few minor details -

  • You must have stories hosted on The Athenaeum.
  • We would prefer that you’re still writing, or intend to write in the relatively near future.
  • You must not have submitted stories to us for hosting that violate our non-consensual sex rules.
  • The overall board rules for posting do apply in the Bard Forums.
  • If you want feedback, or constructive critique, please note that in your Bard Forum.
  • If you feel that you have a real need for moderator privileges in your forum, let me know.
  • The number of Bard Forums we’ll allow is subject to our storage limit, and bandwidth allowance.

If you have any other questions, please contact me.
