Looking for a story...

Hi Everyone!

A few years ago I've read a story, and now I can't for the life of me remember the name or the author. It's driving me completely mad.

Unfortunately I can remember only some of the plot points:

there was a village (or something of that sort) that was divided into districts or clans: hunters, woodcutters, etc...
The main characters knew each other since childhood, but when they became older they couldn't stand each other. And one of them was supposed
to get married to some douche (maybe forced marriage). And I think that the other one had a fight with the douche before the wedding. At some point in the story, they were captured by someone and were held in cages, and the village was slaughtered (I think). In the end the mother of one of the characters got together with another woman. And everyone lived happily ever after.

I perfectly understand that I didn't provide a lot of information to work with, but that's all that I could remember.
