The timeframe I am unsure of although I remember it being something that would be considered "fantasy" (i.e. demons, castles, etc). The story starts off with one of the characters being attacked by demons, it's snowing, and she's a healer/ranger (I believe) and has an aversion to killing. The second main character happens upon her and saves her. The second character is wounded before the battle and was a General who was being hunted down by the people she used to serve....The king is under the power of the demon lord...that's pretty much all I remember
