Thanks for all the new stories ! It's real nice to have new reading material and quite fun to try to guess who penned what story :big hug:

The deadline in the writing contest ended at the same time as the Halloween Invitational at The Royal Academy http://www.academyofbards.org/halloween/2010/index.html- so there is a lot of new stories to read at the moment.

I'll be saving some for a rainy day - won't have to wait for long as those come around quite often at the moment it is after all autumn - so I will definitely finish the reading in time to cast my vote.

You have to wait for a couple of weeks, I think. If it's like the last competition, there's a thirty day voting period.
Check out my latest story: A Heart Darkened by Wine at the Royal Academy of Bards (at: http://www.academyofbards.org/fanfic/u/ursulakincaid_aheartdarkenedbywine.html).

Bardeyes and WebWarrior home in bed...and not have any fun at ALL. We've both had the flu for a week. Our annual trip to plague island--aka my folks house for Thankgiving--has yet again graced us with a not so pleasant gift. It happens every single year--Thanksgiving or Christmas, take your pick. The food was good though. I made Cranberry-Orange muffins, Apple-Cinnamon muffins, and a Key Lime pie. I'm usually in charge of deserts and I usually try to bring something that nobody expects. The key lime pie was devoured.

OH...and The contest results are in!

Congrats to J. Falconer, Sai Wielder, and MBInc! Oh...and Sai Wielder is an all new bard as well!

Congratulations to the winners and all the writers. I read all of the stories and ended up voting for the one I thought exemplified the theme best, kind of like Iron Chef.

My thanks to everyone who contributed to the contest, I enjoyed participating and all I did was vote.

If we get back in the groove of doing regular updates, there will certainly be more contests. Baby steps though... :batting_eyelashes:

2010 Athenaeum Writing Contest Autumn Romance

Postby Lorettaoberb » Mon Aug 19, 2019 12:27 pm

Hey, I know a lot of good comics that may possibly have romance, but not as the main story/plot. You may actually be missing out on a lot of comics if you altogether dont want any romantic relationships at all in a comic. I agree on plot, though, Id rather read comics with good plots any day.

And yeah, anything else more genre specific? Comedy? Horror...? I can help you more if I know what youre lookin for.
