Cavedweller/Rosa,

I don't know what to say. Been re-reading your post for five minutes now, trying to think of something good to say. I guess, first of all, you don't have to apologize for ranting or for sharing your Dickensian story. Like Yuri, I'm incredibly touched you confided in us and I'm happy our words and icons of support were able to reach you halfway across this world.

I'm glad you think of yourself as strong and confident woman because I've thought so for the past two forum pages now. I knew you had to be an amazing woman just to teach, let alone teach in different countries. My opinion of you has only been solidify after reading about your past year. I know you can make it through another month of therapy. Me and the FAKE News girls will be here along with you. Will still be here the month after that and the month after that, and you'll be here too. I like being told I'm talented so I need you here to keep telling me that as I post. ;)

I'll post some news tomorrow. Gotta finish an essay I've waited to the last minute to do. I know, I'm such a bad student :big grin: Wish I was there to give you a hug, Silver/April
Me - "Quiz time!"
Student - "I ain't going to lie to you. I didn't pay attention to anything you were doing up there."
Me - "I noticed. Feel for you. Here's your quiz."

As a semi-hick from the midwest, I can't even start to write that eloquently, so ditto on all of the posts above! It takes a strong person to work for and achieve two masters and a Ph.D., live (much less teach!) in cultures that are different than your own, have the courage to face emotional as well as physical trama, and still be able to laugh and enjoy life! *bows Japanese style to Rosa* My heart goes out to you! :applause: :big hug: :not worthy:

I agree with Silver and Amber. You are a strong woman and the world needs more people like you so don't you go giving up. :not worthy:

And to silver: i like what I've read so far of your FAKE girls. :laughing2:

Were my students watching this forum, they would all be cheering for you because you just managed what they think is impossible: you’ve left me speechless, at least for the long while I’ve been staring at the screen at a complete loss for words. I am really not used to sharing like this and honestly feel a bit guilty about it. I just don’t know how to explain it so I’m not going to try. But I didn’t have a clue about how much better everything looks, how much easier it all seems just because there’s someone somewhere ready to listen and help anyway they can. This is the second time I go for a full course of radiation therapy, this morning I had my first dose (19 more to go) and it’s been the first time I didn’t walk in there dragging my feet. Your words, so kind, so warm, so encouraging, do make a huge difference, and I can’t help but being amazed. I could never thank you enough but you really give me no choice: I’m going to have to add a signature to every one of my posts saying thank you in nice big letters and making sure you all know what incredibly great people you are.
Muchas gracias, heinerway, es una sensación increíble saber que estáis ahí.
Yuri, this certainly is an amazing place, and it’s people like you that make it so, the honor is all mine. And I’ll always need a cheesy joke :D
April, wow, I’m honestly moved to tears here, I’m counting on you, and everyone else including our FAKE girls, being here for a long time. And I think I’ve already said so, but I’m sure you are a wonderful student. Oh, and don’t ever doubt that you are talented and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise
Amber, I bow back to you; eloquence is about filling your words with meaning and purpose and feeling so I’d say you do excel in that particular field
Anne, I’m not about ready to give up but your encouragement definitely makes it a lot less hard. And I agree: you picked a clever name :D
Now all I have left to do is print each and every one of your posts, staple them to my forehead and read them all whenever I need a little push. Did I already say thank you today? Well then, on with the show… Don’t you ever think I’m going to stop asking (nicely but firmly) for new updates on our girls, and if you ever decide to put an end to it, rest assured that first I’ll complain loudly and then I’ll be asking for reruns and then I’ll want a movie too. You may have never expected FAKE news to become a hit, Yuri, but indeed it has so now you have no choice but to keep it running. The first few posts were brilliant, yes, but this new season looks just as good so finish your homework (we don’t want any last minute essays or extremely complicated calculus problems to get in the way of what’s really important) and get down to it, please.

(**Still on the drive to Missouri**)

Sherry had to admit Rachel was a good tour guide. Every now and then she would reach over and talk on the CB radio, pointing out landsites, attractions, or warnings. As they passed Chattanooga Rachel said into the CB, "This is Carpet-Muncher speaking to the rest of the U-Haul Beasts. Back off the hammer, beavers, cause there's a brown paper bag cruising beside me. While the seatcover is cute, the Mama Bear will put us all in a Bear Cage for sure. "

There was a silence over the radio and Sherry finally said, "That the hell did mean?"

Rachel shot her a confused look. "I was speaking clear as day. I said slow down there's an unmarked police car right beside me with two lady cops in it. While the cop in the passenger seat is cute, the one driver looks like she'll put us all in jail."

Sherry took the radio out of her hand and said, "Slow down you idiots there's a cop beside us." Sherry watched in the mirror to make sure they slowed down. Rachel was staring at her, wide-eyed. "You took my radio!"

Sherry shifted in her seat, trying to get comfortable. "Get over it blondie. When are we going to stop? I have to pee."

"Well if you can hold it for twenty more minutes, we'll stop in the prettiest place there is to pee."

"The prettiest place there is to pee?" Sherry repeated slowly. Rachel nodded and Sherry shook her head. A few minutes later a voice came over the radio, "Hey Carpet-Muncher, the wife has to pee. When are we going to stop?" Yolanda asked. Rachel was reaching for the radio when Sherry snatched it from her. "She says in a few minutes, YoYo. We'll be peeing in the prettiest place there is to pee."

"The prettiest place there is to pee?" Was echoed over the radios. Rachel glared at Sherry. "That's my radio!" Sherry rolled her eyes. "Whatever control freak. Just hurry up and get to this place before I decide to pee on you."

Rachel wasn't really into golden showers so she kept driving. Twenty minutes out of Chattanooga o I-24 West, they crossed the Tennessee River. In the middle of the long bridge over the wide river was an island with rest areas. Rachel pulled into rest area, making sure to hit the curb as punishment for Sherry using her radio. Sherry swore as her bladder screamed, "You bitch of a bitch. I'm going to kill you once I go to the restroom." Sherry rushed out of the truck as Rachel called after her, "Make sure to wash your hands first!"

The 18 U-Hauls parked at the restroom and several women climbed out of them. Several women wondered down a hill to get a better view of the river tucked between mountainsides. Courtney said, looking around, "Yep, I have to agree. This is a pretty place to pee."

Rachel decided she had to pee as well and went inside. Walking into the woman's bathroom, Rachel stopped as when she saw one of the Camerawomen eyeing Sherry as she washed her hands. The wave of red hot anger that washed over her caught her by surprise. She had never felt this way before. She didn't mind when Sherry admired beautiful women but when beautiful women admired Sherry...Rachel shook the thought from her head. It wasn't as if Sherry and herself were anything more than truckmates.

They got back on the road for another long drive. Sherry noticed Rachel was unusually quiet. Rachel was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realized she missed her exit, meaning to take the girls to Memphis. She just kept driving on I-24 until they hit Missouri.

The Welcome to Missouri sign had been spray painted to say Welcome to Misery! Sherry asked, confused, "Why are we in Missouri?"

Rachel snapped, angry with herself for not paying attention, "Because! That's why!"

Sherry eyed her out of the corner of her eye. "You need to relax, Looker. I hear multipy orgasms is very relaxing. I can help you with that." Rachel ignored her, trying to stop herself from blushing but unable to deny the warmth that flashed between her legs.

Rosa, I can understand what you mean about sharing. I dislike sharing my own problems, even with my closest friends, because I feel like I'm burdening them. Still, I can't deny I feel better once I've talked with them. They listen. It's all they can offer me but its enough. I don't know the psychology behind why talking works but who am I to argue. Okay so 1 dose down, 19 more to go. We can make it.

So where the FAKE ladies going after their Missouri adventure? We can go any direction the compass takes us. Where are the LATX girls from? Maine right? I should take notes. Want to go to New Orleans? How about Kansas? Cause we've just left my realm of the US and I don't know what else is out there, lol.

Time to study for Abstract Algebra...I don't wanna but I gotta.

Ouch, how about duct tape instead? It is like the force after all... *drum roll*... It has a light and a dark side!!! Oh yeah, I'm nerd and loving it. LOL. :cool2:

And Silver is right, we WILL make it. One day at a time.

And since I jumped the gun on the traveling story earlier, I decided to repost it with a bit of modification. Silver to tell you the truth, the only time I've been farther west than MO is into the edge of Kansas. So, unless someone decides to join in, I'll be tempted to insert aliens or a space-time continum burst to explain how they jumped from the middle of the country to another random part. How about to Pennslyvannia?
______________________________________________________

The U-Haul caravan chugged along the interstate. There was a collective gasp of appreciation over the wide range of colors the trees saw fit to grace them with. Two seconds later the cb airwaves filled up with arguments over where to visit first. Some wanted to head directly to the amusement parks and ride the roller coasters until they puke. Others wanted to catch a couple of live shows down in Branson. And yet, still others wanted to head to Kansas City and partake of the best BBQ in the country. A shrill whistle cut through the noise and everyone cringed.

"Alright! Alight! That's enough. It's getting late, so we're going to pull into a hotel and discuss our plans like adults" Rachael stated.

"Adults? We aren't adults! Isn't that right girls? Adults have to do responsible shit and we're on vacation!" yelled a voice, sounding suspiciously like Yolanda. Yells of agreement followed that statement with enthusiam.

"Let's find a bar and scare the locals!" cried another voice. Laughter and catcalls answered that announcement.

"Okay people! Let's do it this way. Let's head to the hotel and write your ideas down on a piece of paper, put them in a hat or fishbowl, and then we'll draw out a few and see which one we like the best." Yolanda's wife voice commanded. Laughter was heard and them the sound of ripping paper filled the air.

The ladies got to the hotel, got the rooms (with a discount since they had that nifty AAA card), and rambunctiously headed down the hall. After the last woman passed the hall closet, it cracked open and a female eye peeked out at the crowd. One of the last ladies in the crowd, Suzie Longears tripped and landed on her butt. She let out shout of laughter and heard a quiet gasp from behind her. She turned quickly around and spotted the face peaking through the crack.

"Hey ladies, lookie what we have here!" She shouted happily and jogged towards the closet. She grab it and yanked it open. An average height young woman stumbled out of the closet. She was wearing the hotel's housekeeping uniform. She looked up to Suzie's eyes, smiled weakly, raised her hand, made a V with her finers, and said "Live long and prosper?"

BWAHAHAHA wow, awesome updates today!
Lets see, I've taken a roadtrip through the midwest and I've got to tell you. It's a bunch of flat, dry, land. Unless youre near the mountains.Maybe they could get lost in the desert? Or visit salt lake city, looking for the salt lake lol Yellowstone national park is beautiful, maybe they could camp there for a couple nights. Enjoy the bears, wolves, bison and deer stuff lol And I'm pretty sure they could come up with some inuendos about old faithful lol Or maybe it's just my sick mind. Is it just me, or would it be hilarious to see our ladies stuck on the road because a bunch of Bison decided to hang out in the middle of it? These things are huge if you've never seen one.

Definately take a trip to New Orleans, mardi gras!
They could visit Roswell ahahaha

I wanted to introduce myself - formally - LOL

I'm Catseye - from New York. I'm 48 and having a difficult time with life right now. I know what I want but cannot have it right now. It's like I keep waiting, but it's a terrible feeling to keep waiting for time to pass before I will be able to have a life. I am a caretaker for my elderly mother and doing my best to keep her out of a nursing home. She lives with me. It's me and her.

I have enjoyed this website for some time - but afraid to post. For those of you who write stories - I applaud you! I love to read them and enjoy them. I think they have kept me grounded most of the time.

I cannot name names at this point, but those of you regular posters really keep me in stiches!!! You are all really funny! I appreciate the keeper's of this site very much - Bardseye!!!! I hope I got that right.

Just keep writing - I love it!!!

The stories have kept me grounded too. I can understand about caring for your mother. While my mother isn't elderly yet, she is having small troubles and I feel torn between wanting to live my life and staying near home to watch out for her. I mean, she is my mom. I love and owe her you know. But if I stay where I am, finding someone is kinda slim.

Hello all,

My name is Cat and I'm 19, I'm from a tiny town in Oklahoma. My life is pretty dull right now, I decided to be a lazy bum after high school and took a year off (which basically means I didn't want to go to college) but I have decided to get off my lazy butt and I'm really leaning toward being a massage therapist or something of that nature.

I found this site about a year ago, and it's been very... enlightening :big grin: lol. I love to read and there are soooo many good stories here, and I'm lovin' the FAKE news ladies lol. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Thanks! I freely admit my humor can be weird. I was hoping someone else would get it!

Yeah, my mom's been having health issues for a few years now too. And my grandparents are definitely not getting any younger. I feel torn between staying around and helping out and following my heart which is to live in different parts of the country and world. It's not easy, not easy at all.

I abso-friggin'-lutely adore Melissa Etheridge. I've been hooked on her songs since I was 12, when I didn't even know who she was. I can't believe I didn't think of her "Run for Life" song sooner. Oops.

Great updates! :laughing2: April that line about “the prettiest place there is to pee” is brilliant, and you have an impressive command of the lingo used by truck drivers :applause: . And Amber, that hotel employee found in a closet sounds promising… I love the idea about aliens too :D . I’ve been brushing up my Geography and me thinks that getting the girls from Missouri to California stopping at New Orleans, Kansas, Salt Lake City, Yellowstone, Roswell and Pennsylvania is not exactly going straight… Anyway everyone knows going straight is not fun :big grin: . It looks like it’s going to be a long and winding road to Cali. I have to tell you it is very exciting to witness artists at work, making a joint effort, combining resources and ideas, improvising and having fun too while weaving a hilarious, smart story for all of us to enjoy. :not worthy:

Welcome Catseye, I understand that you’re feeling like you’re putting your life on hold somehow, but I’m sure both you and your mother don’t even want to think of a nursing home as an option. Enjoy your time with her and do what you can to find time for yourself as well. I know it’s not easy but I can tell you that not having a mother around is a terrible thing. :big hug:

Lol, thanks. I actually have been to that rest area and officially declared it the prettiest place there is to pee. As for the truck lingo, :big grin: I found a slang dictionary and have been using it.

Lol, I go to sleep last night on top of everything on the forum and when I wake up, boom, there's comments everywhere. Darn the time difference. Been kinda busy today (Tuesday is my busiest day) I won't have time to play with our favorite FAKE girls. By the way, they are our girls so if you want to write and play with them, you can do so. Only rules are don't kill them off or make them straight.

But!!! If you like me and kinda like my writing (this is a shameless advertisement for myself) my new story has been posted on What's New. Though it says Unfinished, I promise you that it is. It's just the first adventure.

Okay, I gotta go. I have to finish reading a section in Graph Theory, work on upcoming projects for my club, and then study for Abstract midterm.... ugg...I will make it through this day.... :) We'll all make it.

I'll definately have to check that out April :D
Ok, so I just got home and i'm like...twitching, my heart rate is up, and I feel like throwing up.
I was driving out of the school parking lot (in bumper to bumper trafic), get cut off by a motorcycle, and then! I make it to the stop sign at the end of the block. Guess what? This fucking old lady (sorry about the language) runs the stop sign. It's a four way stop. I already pulled off, she runs it, I'm in the middle of the freakin street. I swirve (sp?) to the right to miss her, and luckily she slammed on her brakes fast enough, and we are literally inches from each other. I couldn't do anything but drive off, but she stayed in the middle shaking, not that I blame her. But damn, it was scary :sad2: I need to calm down.

Side note, I just pushed some weird button and now my browser is full screen. It's awesome! but I don't know how to take it off now lmfao.
