Meet and Greet

Oooo, be careful. The first step is wanting the hair out of your eyes and off your neck. Then you realize you don’t like it touching your ears. Then you don’t want to see it unless you are looking in a mirror. Next, you don’t want to feel it move if you are outside in the wind. Before you know it, you’ve got a buzz cut.

April, did your Mama try to keep you in a “girl’s haircut” when you were very young? When did your hairstyle become your own choice? I am assuming your high school didn’t control hairstyles, too.

No, my hair school was not about to control my haircut. Actually my mom's never cared about the length of my hair as long as my head wasn't shaved bald. I was born with a head full of hair and my dad did not allow my mother to cut my hair for the longest time. I could sit on it by the time was I was three. It was a nightmare for my mom to wash and dry my hair so one night, when I was four, she stood me on the kitchen table and cut my hair a few inches longer then my shoulders.

I guess my hairstyle became my own In sixth grade. I cut my hair as short as it is now. My mother didn't mind, her hair had been increasingly shorter for years. At the time, it was okay for every woman to have short hair because Ghost had come out with Demi Moore. I think I grew tired of people calling me a boy so I grew it back out past my shoulders for the next few years. When high school started, it slowly got shorter and shorter. Each time I I cut it short, I was told I look real good in shorter hair so one day I go in and get this cut.

When did your hairstyle become your own Hick?

I want to know what's wrong with a buzz cut, Hickcrone. You yourself are sporting one.

And for the record, my haircut never really became my own until this last year when I finally got it cut this short. For once I loved my haircut, and I didn't hate how I look. I tried and tried to get different cuts you know, around shoulder length. I never liked any of them as much as I liked this one. Maybe I will get it buzzed one of these days, to try something different. I've seen some girls with the buzzed cut and they sure are sexy. :)

As I know you would, April, you look simply stunning in your costume  And I bet the dance was a huge success too.
As for haircuts, all I'll say is that you all look great to me, and I kinda like your hair as it is, Michele, even if it gets in your eyes :winking2:

Michele, like Rosa, I like your haircut as is :)
I'd like to get my hair cut short but I'm afraid it won't look good lol One day I'll be brave and cut it, but not while i'm in High school lol People are brutal!

Michele, nothing is wrong with a buzz cut. I quite like mine but I am very aware the style goes against gender expectations. I have never approved of gender specific expectations so I don’t have a problem going against them. Others are not so accepting.

April, my mama did not give birth to any babies with much hair. If there was any, it was sparse and nearly transparent. I still look like I had a buzz cut for my first birthday. By my second birthday, it was more like a Prince Valiant pageboy. Sometime after my third birthday, my five year old sister gave me my first haircut. I believe she started in the front, cutting more or less flush with my scalp. I’ll put a photo of a photo of what my mom turned it into in my gallery. hickcrone.daportfolio.com/gallery/201096

My next haircut, except for evening up trims, didn’t happen until just before first grade as that was the tradition in my family. That was the only reason I wanted to start school, for the haircut. I remember begging to have my hair put in a pony tail and then anchored close to my head so I could pretend I had short hair.

I tried growing my hair out when I was about 14. I lasted six months, I think, before it made me crazy. My hair is fine textured with some curl to it. When I tried to let it grow, the weight of the hair overwhelmed the curl and it just sort of stuck to my head. It looked truly stupid.

For quite a few years before I went to my inch long buzz, I used scissors to give myself a two inch cut, tapering to a half inch at the nape and around my ears. That one did not draw the looks my buzz does. It was also harder to do and took longer than the buzz. I had hoped my buzz would stand out straight from my head, without product, but I am done in again by the fine texture and slight curl. I’ve adjusted to it looking more like fur, laying on the contours of my skull.

Yuri, if you decide to cut yours shorter and don’t like it, it will grow back.

You know, for that reason I had my hair back in a pony tail since 6th grade. It got it out of my face and my vision. I can't stand having hair in my face. I got talked into cutting it into layers a few months ago and I can't stand it. I'm letting it grow out again. It's where I can put it back in a pony tail and that make me really happy! :big grin: I like your hair cut too Michele! It fits your face.

Sorry I was being so defensive Hickcrone. I don't have any gender related grudges about haircuts or care much for gender expectations either. I guess I just didn't understand your words.

And I'm glad you guys like my haircut. :big hug: I'm still going to get it trimmed back down though :P

Stand by for an FAKE update
__________________________________

Kiki walked back into his store and firmly shut the door. He hollered, “Yall clean up!”

The FAKE News girls plus one wife and one stripper with amazing breasts stared, flabbergasted, at each other. Courtney sighed and said, “We do need stuff in the store…”

The stripper rolled her eyes and said, “It’s not that hard ladies. We have a wet G-string contest every Tuesday night. Lets just hose off so we can get inside. I’m suddenly craving a Yahoo.”

Courtney beamed, “I like a girl who likes chocolate milk.”

The stripper settled a look on Courtney. “I. Am. Not. A. Girl,” She said, firmly while pushing out her chest. The stripper then walked around to the back of the store with Sherry and Yolanda dragging a dazed Courtney between them. When they rounded the corner, they were met by a very cold spray of water.

“This water is coming from a well, ladies, and that means two temperatures. Cold now or colder later,” The stripper laughed as she hosed down the FAKE girls plus wife. Courtney and Yolanda wrestled the hose away from the amazing breasted woman while Yolanda’s wife and Sherri grabbed the woman. Grinning evilly, Courtney slipped the still running hose down the tiny patch of cloth on the stripper’s G-string. From the way the woman squealed and jumped two feet in the air, Courtney guessed the water was colder and not cold.

“If you lumberjacks will finish up, I have some clean clothes for you to put on,” Kiki said from behind them. Courtney dropped the hose as Kiki deposited a stack of clothes in her arms. After watching the fabulous drag queen walk away, Courtney turned around to see the stripper reaching down to adjust her G-string. The stripper grinned as she caught Courtney looking and Courtney was about to smile back when she realized the water had knocked the woman’s bra loose. One amazing breast hung out in the open and it was only Sherry’s quick reflexes that saved the clothes as Courtney promptly fainted to the ground.

“Damn,” The stripper muttered as she readjusted her top. “Well I guess I should get some proper cover for these girls.”

After waking up and washing off Courtney again, the women put on their new clothes. Once again, they found themselves staring at each other, flabbergasted. Sherri and Courtney wore an outfit that looked like it came straight from Cher’s concert wardrobe. Yolanda wore something straight from Whitney Houston’s closet and the stripper wore a Dolly Parton top with assless leather chaps.

As they walked into the store, the queen said, “Yall look good but not as good as me.”

Hick, you have some cute baby pictures. I've never heard of someone's hair growing so slowly. I could shave my head bald and it'd be back to this length in a month or two.

Lol, you're right Rosa, Amber deserves a round of applause.

So here is my day so far. Wake up at 5am to register for classes. Takes ten minutes before the website even loads but at least it does. So I, having already looked up the numbers to type in, copy and paste my numbers and click the add this classes button. So I do that. It only lets me add three of the five classes. Turns out my physics lab interferes with not only Mathematical Analysis (which I already knew would happen) but also History of Mathematics. I need all three classes to graduate but especially Mathematical Analysis and Physics Lab. I know there are also five other math seniors in the same boat with me so me and another fellow Steven walk over to the Math Department after class.

Alina (the math secertary and wonderful woman) says there's nothing she can do so go talk to the Physic's department. So Steven and I walk over to the Physics department. We're ignored for the first five minutes and then the secretary sees us. She said, and I quote, "We don't organize our classes around math classes." *glares*
Okay so Steven and I wait outside the Chair Department's office because we're not giving up. We see Dr. France (whose teaching the Physics II lab) and ask him what we can do. He said, "Well you'll just have to see if you can get into Introductory Physics II Lab but only if they have space. You probably wont know until the end of the year." Seriously???

So Steven and I see the Chair, Dr. McGill. We tell him our situation, that there are five math seniors who are having conflicts. He shrugs as he says, "Oh well."
OH WELL???? I could have hit the man! Oh fucking well. You couldn't say I'm sorry there's nothing we can do, you had to say Oh Well??????

So Steven and I had back to the Math department where we tell them what happened. They're surprised and we try to work out another thing. We can't change the math classes and we can't change the Physics. So if we can't get into the Introductory Lab, the Math Chair said he'll change our degrees so that we don't have to have the lab. I love that man.
"Oh well...."
Me - "Quiz time!"

That's pretty damn outrageous. But I'm trying not to get too angry, too angry about anything right now. Already angry about work. And stressed.
What's good for stress relief? (*rolls eyes* besides sex, April)

Wow, April, no wonder you are pissed... I know different departments don't usually care about that sort of interference between classes but really, that 'oh well' crap is a bit too much. I hope the Math Chair can do something about it so you have no problems. And, unlike Michele :winking2: , I'll throw caution to the wind and just hug you :big hug:
I know it's probably hard but try to take things easy at work, Michele. Things will be alright in the end, you'll see :big hug: Hmm, and you say sex helps with stress...? Who would have thought? I'll make a mental note :big grin:

Awww. :big hug: Don't get angry Michele. You have enough stress to deal with. A good stress reliever? Well Sex......oh, besides sex. And didn't we already discuss you and your bf cutting back on sex? Anyway the orgasm itself if the stress reliever but I've just been told that even masturbation is considered sex so...ummm...how about you draw?

Why yes, sex helps with stress. I agree with theory completely and I hold this theory near and dear to my heart.

Goodness so many posts pop up in this thread! I read a bunch in regards to haircuts and hairstyles, and I was like "oooo that's totally my kinda topic".

So I had long, thick, blonde hair pretty much all my life (blonde hair, blue eyed. holla!). During my christmas break my first year of college, just after my 19th birthday (and before I had officially come out to any of my family!!) I got my hair chopped off competely, pixie style. It would spike after I put some sports gel in it and for about 4 years I was that chick with the short, spikey, occasionally bleach blonde tipped hair walking around campus.

And I LOVED IT!!!!!

My family for the most part loved my hair, my dad being the only one who misses my long flowy blonde hair. I've been told the short style fits my face wonderfully and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It takes like 2 seconds to do my hair, and in the shower it takes no time at all to wash it. I remember the first time I showered after cutting it all off I was like "uhm... 10 minute shower? what did I forget to do?" lol.

I also buzz cut my own hair for a long while (yea, poor broke college student couldn't afford a hair cut), and while I loved the feeling of my hair buzzed short, I hated the way I was treated by people because of it. Even now, with my hair just long enough not to spike up in the air, I get called "Sir" occasionally. In college, people would literally not sit next to me on the bus (I became pretty good at reading body language) and I would occasionally fluster a professor the first day of classes when they did role call (lucky for me I have a gender neutral first name :p ) and they thought I was a "Sir" and not a "Miss". I've had a few experiences with stupid people who don't like something that confuses them, small children would ask me why I had a "boys haircut", and I found when I worked at the grocery store that black men especially found me interesting and I got constantly hit on by them.... that one made me laugh though =)

So that's my long and odd story about my hair, and "finding" my own hair style. I have tried once or twice to grow out my hair but I always lose paitence before long and chop it all off again.

Hey Andy! :D Nice to see you around again. We'll need to chat on Facebook soon.
*rolls eyes* I'm so over people calling/ thinking I'm a guy. And that's only because I don't dress girly. I wonder how worse it would be if I chopped my hair off lol
Every year I have a few teachers that get it wrong and boy is it awkward having to tell them after class lol I used to get really embarrassed, but I'm completely used to it now.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend :)
