Meet and Greet

I'll have to think about that Amber  I think it's because without my posting the thread gets overlooked. But never fear! I'm here! :peace:

Ya know....for the past two weeks my feet have been freezing...my hands super cold...inside my own house. Outside is just as bad. The wind stings your legs and face! This is Florida! WTF. I love the cold, don't get me wrong. But now that i'm going back to school, it's super freezing at 6 AM and I don't feel like dragging myself out of bed to take a shower. I'm almost ready for the warm weather to come back. The only thing missing in this cold is snow!

However, I know I need to enjoy because in the summer when I'm complaining about how hot it is I need to remember these past few weeks.
Send some snow my way Amber, maybe I can get a snowcone or whatever. Just no yellow snow ok? :?

No snow here but bitterly cold and miserable. Makes me miss the old country.

Well here in Indiana I'm just hoping that if it decides to snow that it really SNOWS!!!

Enough of this 2-5 inches crap. If it's gonna snow I want have enough where I can justify staying home from work. :big grin:

Supposed to get from 7-10 inches tonight.

I had to sit in my car for a good ten, fifteen minutes this morning to melt the frost covering the window. In the freezing cold.
I can just imagine having to go outside at some ungodly time in the mornin to shovel some snow out of the way....
All you northerners, I tip my hat to you.... :not worthy:

LOL - You Southerners!!!!! You guys do not know what cold is!!!! I feel bad for you guys when the high temperature of the day is in the 50's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :laughing2:
We, here in upstate NY have had some real cold weather with 50-60 mile an hour winds!!!! It's not even the cold that gets you, it's the wind. I can actually feel the wind coming through my walls!!!!
January is a LONG month for us here and can't wait for it to be over!!!! Sunny, warm greetings to you all!!!!!! :big grin:

yeah yeah  Give us a break, our delicate skin isn't used to this cold! Give us some hot weather and we will know what to do; complain and find an air conditioner. :laughing2:

We may not know what cold is.....but you don't know what HOT is. Come to florida in the middle of summer. Have fun baking :big grin:

Actually Yuri, the worst part for the unfortunate people like me without a garage is chipping the ice off your windshields while the wind is finding all the little gaps in your winter clothing.

And speaking of baking, since my boss called a little bit ago and told me I don't have to go to work tomorrow, I'm totally making it a baking day! Anyone have any suggestions? I'm thinking cookies and muffins! Yum! :purr: :big hug:

Aww Catseye I was born in Upstate NY and I hope to one day get back to the North or north of where I currently live--maybe not that much snow or cold, but colder than the south.

My philosophy is you can always put more clothes on when you're cold, but when you're hot you can only take off so much (and you're still hot).

Yeah, Yuri, for sure next week you will be complaining of heat and be sitting next to the air conditioner!! A friend of mine took a week vaccation to Florida - from here in NY - and they said it is freezing in Florida. That is such a cruel joke to us here!!!!! LOL We look forward to our trip to sunny Florida for months and then we get there and it's just as cold!!!

I wish my boss would tell me not to go to work!!!

Beck - I agree with you on the clothes - LOL. The thing about it being 10 - 20 degrees is that when the temp reaches 30 degrees, it is warm and feels like you are having a heatwave!!! I look forward to a 35 degree day. Man, January is a LONG month!!!!

Yeah, I much agree about the putting on layers vs taking them off. In my opinion, it's easier to warm up than cool down. Mmmm, hot chocolate!!

And we'll keep you company during the 1st month of the year to help it pass quicker, no problem. :big grin:

Lol, yeah I'm roughly 20 minutes away from work and I couldn't go today anyway, lol. From the looks of it, I wouldn't be able to get out of my sub-division. You'd think from that semi-blizzard we got a couple of weeks ago it would've give the snow plows lots of practice. *shrugs* Oh well. I'm thinking chocolate chip pumpkin muffins with the possibility of chocolate chip or peanut butter cookies would make today most excellent. I was thinking about heading outside to make a snowman, but from the sound of the wind, I'd freeze in half a minute. So, I think I'll put that idea on hold until it warms up into the double digits again.

ROFl see catseye, I told you it was freezing! I hope your friend still had a good time though LOL no beach visit but....thats ok lol It's supposed to get colder this weekend and then warm up a little next week.

I agree with the clothes part. And that's what pisses me off the most about florida, you can't escape the hot!

Amber buddy, make me some chocolate chip cookies??? I'll love you forever! :big grin: Let's just not let Carrie and Elizabeth know alright??

I ended up modifying an online chocolate cookie recipe and it's turned out great! The batter is so stiff though, I was worried at first. The batter actually started climbing the beaters! Erk, I already told Carrie that I'd bring her some for having to miss out on seeing her yesterday, and you know I want to keep in her good graces, but I'm sure I could smuggle you some... Although, at the rate these cookies are disappearing, I dunno if any will survive beyond the day... I know!! Another batch!! Muhahahahahaha! :cool2:

Now I really wanna try those cookies! LOL I suck at modifying recipes; they usually turn out horrible.
However if you do find a way to smuggle me a cookie, it will be an ice puck before it reaches me :laughing2:

Shockingly enough, the original batch of cookies has survived somewhat intact! Man, these cookies are rich, but i made them smallish so you don't get overwhelmed by the chocolaty goodness all in one go.

Considering I had to go out to shovel the driveway today, nearly froze during the time I was out there, and you stayed out way longer than me... yes, yes you do! *hands you cookies*

Sadly, I have no idea. I miss her being around too! Have some cookies while we wait for her to come back on. *hands you cookies*

*puts out a huge plate of cookies for everyone to take* I dunno why I made so many, but please all take some before I eat them all and make myself sick!

Now I really feel bad about you southerners!! It is all over the news up here in NY about the cold weather down south. I mean, they say the iguanas are falling out of trees because they are so cold?!?!?! Is that true???
