This list is a bit short and I'm sorry about that. I loaned my kindle to a friend who was taking a trip so what is on this list is mostly by memory. I've also had a few drinks. I'm not an alcoholic I swear! It just so happens I feel like making lists when I drink? xD
Awakening to Sunlight by Lindsey Stone
Love this one. Emotional hurt/comfort and family by proxy. I sigh just thinking about it.
Battle Scars by Meghan O'Brien
This is one I enjoyed quite a bit. Lesbian falls in love with a straight woman? Check. Hurt/comfort? Check.
Behind the Pine Curtain by Gerri Hill
Who wasn't in love with their best friend in high school? Well, wait; I wasn't. Hm.
Broken Wings by LJ Baker
This one threw me for a loop but in a good way. It's a somewhat realistic fairy tale world with racism, radical religious nuts, classism etc. LJ Baker rocks the stress/angst factor.
The Clinic by Cate Culpepper
Book one in a series I adore. Feminism and futuristic amazon tribes? Check. Complex morality issues and falling in love with the "wrong" person? Check.
The Devil Inside by Ali Vali
Book one in a series. If you love her free stuff online you'll probably love this. Lots of angst and misunderstandings. Who's the bad guy in this again?
The Exile and the Sorceress by Jane Fletcher
Book one in a series, was previously online for free consumption. The published version is more polished with greater depth. The angst is sporadic, but it's there in a lovely fantasy setting.
Fireside by Cate Culpepper
I love Cate Culpepper. This particular book has angst and emotional tribulation on multiple levels. There is also a certain degree of sisterhood going on here.
Fully Involved by Erin Dutton
It's interesting how a death in the family can bring people together...or rip them apart. I am an Erin Dutton fan.
Goldenseal by Gill McKnight
Book one in a series, a much shorter version exists online. The published version is much more polished and, well, highly sexed up. Pretty much each of the books in the series has a pretty decent angst level.
Heart of the Matter by KI Thompson
I am a KI Thompson fan. I enjoyed this book and House of Clouds quite a bit. This one is mostly hurt/comfort. I would also like to say one of the characters is kind of a jerk. Beauty and the Beast for lesbians! (with less fur)
Just Business by Julie Cannon
I wanted to throttle one of the leading ladies in this book. How could she?! D: Decent angst without being too much.
Just Like That by Karin Kallmaker
This one is a bit frustrating. This is full of the kind of women I tend to get annoyed with; "I-say-one-thing-but-I'm-thinking-another." Broken communication, overindulging in pride, and silly secrets often lead to good angst.
Lavender Secrets by Sandra Barret
"I'm in love with a straight woman, oh noes!" My favorite type.
Little White Lie by Lea Santos
Book one in loose series. I love a book I can relate to as a hispanic (they're so few and far between). Relationships are hard to get started when you start off with a lie. I've read all the books in the series and I like each of them greatly.
Love Waits by Geri Hill
Ah, those high school romances do mostly seem like they were doomed to failure. A reunion story. Women are silly sometimes with the things they hold back.
Remember Tomorrow by Gabrielle Goldsby
Top notch angst. Gabrielle Goldsby is getting better with each book she writes. An amnesia hurt/comfort story. Love it.
Second Nature by Jae
This one is pretty great on numerous levels. Read the description at the link. I'm too tipsy to explain it well.
September Canvas by Gun Brooke
Two women. Troubled past(s). Secrets. Attraction. Dun dun duuuun!
Stranded by Blayne Cooper
Oh I loooove this one. I love the tension between our would-be lovers in the extreme setting. Little twists and turns may surprise you.
Such a Pretty Face by Gabrielle Goldsby
More angst from GabGold! A stale relationship, years of poor confidence, and a potentially incendiary new love.
Thirteen Hours by Meghan O'Brien
Okay, so this one isn't really all that high on angst, but there's a little! Lots of steamy intimate moments.
Thy Neighbor's Wife by Georgia Beers
I think the title sort of speaks for itself. Needless to say I bought it soon after release and was not disappointed.
Too Close to Touch by Georgia Beers
Honestly, women! The things left unspoken really can ruin relationships even before they've begun. Assumptions can be just dreadful to burgeoning feelings.
And that is all. I could say I will expand this list but I'm entirely too fickle to commit to such a thing. Note that some of these series can come in package deals and they may be slightly cheaper all together than seperately (if you intend to buy them all, that is). I hope I've helped some of you find something to read.
