That's pretty damn outrageous. But I'm trying not to get too angry, too angry about anything right now. Already angry about work. And stressed.
What's good for stress relief? (*rolls eyes* besides sex, April)

:worried:

I usually get out a punching bag, find someone stupid enough to hold it for me and punch/kick away. Or if that's not available, I work it out in the weight room.

Why turn to violence when sex and handcuffs would relieve stress just fine?

Well, when you don't have anyone you want to be intimate with and don't have the money for handcuffs, controlled "violence" still releases endorphins and works off the adrenaline rush. :big grin:

Yeah, epic fail Princess. :big grin: *prepares for the retaliation*

Hmm, I suppose I should write a FAKE update but idk...

So I totally skipped Physics today. Was thinking before I went to sleep last night that I don't want to go so I turned off my alarm. I woke up just as class was ending. It felt great :) Did I miss something important? More then likely. But I figured I'm going to need the extra rest for this upcoming weekend. You see, my mother is going into the hospital to have her knees replaced. The surgery will take place on Friday (more or likely at 6:00am in the morning) and she'll have to stay in there for three to four days. I wont lie. I'm worried even though she told me not too. Nurses make the worst patients and she described what it's going to be like when she comes out of surgery....
So this is what I ask of you my fellow forumers. If you pray, please pray for my mom. If you send out good thoughts, please send some her way. If you sacrifice animals, please make it a nice, big one. If you drink beer, drink a sixer for her. (She doesn't drink beer but she'll appreciate the thought).

*skips retaliation due to news*

try not to worry about it (i know, easier said than done). i've lived through three leg surgeries. i mean, i'm sure the surgery itself will be fine, it's just the recovery that'll be a pain (i hear knee recoverys are a bitch, but feels so much better when things are said and done). :big hug:

take care April. I have to work tonight but you can call around nine or ten and i'll be out. :big hug:
that is, if you'll be up around ten or eleven your time...

Sending tons of good thoughts to your mom all the way from across the Atlantic. I know it's not an easy thing to do but try not to worry too much, everything is going to be alright, I know. This one's for you :big hug: , and this one's for your mom :big hug:
I'd go hunting and get ready to perform some sort of scarifice ritual, but I kinda like animals and anyway all I'd probably find is a big fly or a wasp and I don't think they qualify, do they? So I'll just keep sending good thoughts your way (and maybe have a beer or two :) )

Donna, Elaine, Thank you for your words. We just arrived at the hospital. Waiting for this cellphone thing to buzz so we can go through the admittance process.

Rosa- :big hug: No need to go hunting. Even the big redneck I am, I don't hunt.

Michele- My friend, my wonderful friend. Even though you didn't write this, all I could hear was quiet worrying, you idiot. I felt very relieved when I read your message. It doesn't make sense but then again, it's like the time I called you twelve kinds of idiot that one day and you felt relieved.

I'm all set for today yall. The internet is working :) and I have nutty butty bars. I have headphones. I like this headphones, they have a microphone attached. Anyway, I'm all set for the day.

April,

May your mom have a safe and successful operation. May she heal speedily and soon be on her feet. May it be a complete healing of the body and spirit. May you find the strength within or with friends and family to be supportive during this process so that stress is at minimum or in the distance, perhaps one or two many coffee cups away. May the doctors and nurse be competent and caring and have no current addictions that will cause steady hands to shake as they are jonesing for their next fix. May I be stopped talking in this voice before you regret my words of comfort.

:peace:

Bardeyes and WebWarrior, thank you for your good thoughts. And Bardeyes I can see why you really love WW. You know with you liking all this outer space stuff and she being an alien from outer space...I can see why yall get along ;)

Lol, Kali thank you for kind 'may' words. You ended at just the right spot. I was about to roll my eyes but you knew just where to end it.

They took her back into surgery about an hour ago. I went back to talk to her after they prepped her. I spoke about three sentences to her before I said, "You're on something aren't you?" "Yes, they gave me two adavane(*or however you spell it)." She was relaxed and loose. It was kinda funny.

Downside, family is here now. Her sister Betty and my cousin Raven. Yes family is supposed to provide comfort but with them here, I got to stop worrying and comfort them. I guess I'm just taking the role of head of the family now that my mom's out for the moment. Of course there's going to be arguing about what's going to be happening afterwords. I'd honestly rather deal with this alone then them be here...

My mom's out of surgery. The doctor said it went well.

I was a little mfffed with the doctor though. When he was talking to us he would look and talk to my Uncle John, Aunt Betty, and Aunt Kaye but he would not look and address me. Seriously, man only looked at me once in the five minutes he talked to us. Still, I guess he's an alright dude if my mom wanted him and only him to do the surgery.

I love this people. They came and gave me a better chair. I'm sitting in her room waiting for her. She's in a holding area right now. Waiting for her to wake up on her own or for them to wake her up.

I'm finally family free at the moment. Feels good to relax.

April,

My sister had knee replacement September 22, right knee only. She had trouble getting the correct pain relief in the immediate aftermath. Her insurance company wanted her to use morphine instead of the prescribed Oxycontin and that took some getting used to. Also, she tends to have skin allergies and sensitivities so the compression stocking gave her an awful rash. When she eased up on the stocking use, the swelling got too bad. So, I hope your mom gets the right medication and doesn’t have skin problems because she will really need those compression stockings.

My sister is not yet to a 90 degree bend in that leg. Of course, before surgery, she did not have that bend either so the involved ligaments have therapy and stretching to go through.

Are you bored enough I should write true life stories of my last several days? I could include my Wednesday afternoon at ER with my mother.... She’s going to be fine, by the way.

Take care.
