~ Amy E. Goodwin aka Leslaureate ~
June 30, 1962 - January 4, 2006
Amy was a gifted and talented writer, as well as a wonderful and compassionate human being. She passed quietly in her sleep and is "survived by her sisters: Marcy, Linda, and Rosanne. Also within her immediate family are Mark Citrin (her brother-in-law), Aaron and Ashley Citrin (her nephew and adopted niece), and Harley and Sophie
Citrin (Aaron and Ashley’s daughters, who will always refer to her as “Auntie Amy”). Amy
will always be remembered for her caustic wit, compassionate heart, and undying love for all."
Her family has forward the following requests:
1) "With a multitude of friends and family mourning
her death and celebrating her life, we know that she
will live forever in our hearts, minds, and dreams. If
you live in the San Diego area, please contact
(marcellah@earthlink.net) immediately for information
on a celebration of Life that will be announced at a
later date. When attending, please remember to bring
your best stories, memories, and tall tales of Amy. By
sharing these experiences,we all may improve our
familiarity with Amy’s life and learn more of the
amazing person that was, is, and forever will be, Amy
Goodwin."
This was taken from the obituary notice (thanks
ptmartin for the info):
"A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday,
February 18, 2006 from 2-5 p.m. at the Pacific Church
of Religious Science in Mission Valley (San Diego).
Please sign the on-line guest book or e-mail memories,
tall tales, photos, and stories to:
rosannegoodwin@comcast.net. These will be compiled
into a memory book. Please sign the guest book at
obituaries.uniontrib.com."
2) "Very soon the family would like to announce a
series of efforts to allow all of Amy's publics, and
she has several, to remember Amy in the right way.
One of them is to arrange for Amy's collected works to
be published and another is to create a memorial fund
to offer help to unpublished (possibly gay, lesbian
or AA) writers to further their work. Any thoughts
you have about this will be greatly appreciated. Any
one with ideas concerning the memorial fund, please
contact Marcy Goodwin at marcellah@earthlink.net."
4) "We're also creating a book about Amy, to celebrate
her life, and would welcome any contributions you
might wish to make to the book. We're particularly
interested in your thoughts about Amy's spirit and
spiritual nature, as well as her attitude toward life.
You can forward this to other members of the writing
group you're a part of, and all contributions will be
included in the memorial book. Any one with
contributions to the memorial book for Amy, please
contact Rosanne Goodwin at husmiles@comcast.net."
Thanks to Solar for the above information. Her friends will miss her...
