Part 4 Rebellions

Toni was glad that everyone was working without any struggle. She had noticed that a few who would support the rebellious group on the Hyperion. They would put up the most struggle especially if it became hostile. That was something that she did not understand.

Toni had sat down in the briefing room which was at the moment unoccupied. Toni heard movement behind her and figured that it would probably be one her contacts as she had managed to infiltrate the group quite easily. She turned around and was surprised to see Treis standing there. She had learned from Sheba that the man was a loner ever since the destruction of the colonies.

"Hello, I just wanted to ask you if you had a brother named Gorges," Treis asked her as he sat down across from her.

"Yes that was my brother's name," Toni replied a bit guarded wondering why he was asking her about him.

"I thought so. He had a picture of you that he loved to show off. Said that you would be a great pilot one day," Tries said as his eyes took on a distant look.

"You knew my brother," Toni asked.

"He was in my squadron," Treis replied. "He was quite a man, but he would be a bit disappointed with the people you are hanging around."

Toni was not sure how to react as she was not sure who he was talking about. Treis seemed to understand and clarified his statement.

"He would have like Rhea, but he others he would not have liked. You should keep clear of them," he said.

"My brother and I did think different, but we had the same taste in women," Toni said remembering one day when they both tried to seduce the same woman. "What happened to him," Toni asked suddenly serious as she had someone who could answer that question.

"The Cylons caught us off guard," Treis said after a few seconds of silence. "We headed to the hanger when the attack began. The commander never ordered red alert. We got to the landing bay and we as quickly as we could and helped arm our vipers with the rest of the crew. I jumped into my viper with my helmet and brought down the canopy. Your brother was beside me. He had to pick up his helmet because he had dropped it. I launched a few seconds later as he climbed into his viper."

Toni looked up when Tries had stopped talking as she noticed that he was crying a bit. She reached out and grabbed his hand.

"No one else was able to launch. The ship exploded shortly after I launched," he told her.

Toni realized that if her brother had not dropped his helmet he might be here today.

"For some reason I survived when everyone else I worked with for years died in that explosion," he said and Toni could hear the guilt in the man's voice.

"Even if Gorges had launched, he might have been destroyed in the combat," Toni said with reason.

Tries looked up at that comment. He realized that Toni was right. The Galactica had managed to launch all its fighters and still lost half of its compliment. Talking with Toni had made him realize that there was someone who he could talk with, that could connect with him.

"What happened to your parents," he finally asked.

"They had gone into town and were killed. I was sick and ordered to stay home. It's what saved my life," Toni said.

"Looks like we both have some guilt," he said with a bit of a laugh.

"I'd like to talk more about Gorges and the adventures you had," Toni said realizing that he was a way to learn about what her brother had done.

Tries thought about it and found out that he really wanted to talk about the members of the Atlantia. He was the only one who knew their stories and he found it was time to share it.

Tries said that he would and got up and walked out past another man. Toni recognized him as one of the grounds grew who was part of the rebel group.

"You should not be talking with him," the man said as two others walked into the room. "He is not on our side."

Toni felt some anger at that comment and before the man could move found himself slammed against the wall. "That man served with my brother on the battlestar Atlantia and was his friend. He's all I have left of my brother," Toni said as her eyes drilled into the man.

He was about to protest when one of the others stepped in.

"Let it go Ines," the man said with a look in his eyes. "I know the feeling, I wish I had someone to talk about my sister with," he said then walked out of the room.

"There's a meeting tonight, same place and time," Ines said. "And Toni, be on time."

Toni felt like tonight was important. Something was going to happen and she knew that she had to be there.

Toni felt like the rest of the day had flown by and she now headed back to her barracks to shower and meet Rhea. Stripping out of her shirt and pants she headed to the shower.

"Toni, what's up with the necklace," Sheba asked having finally gotten up the nerve to ask.

Toni glanced down and realized that she still had on the necklace. The fortune teller had told her to keep in on, so she had and so far it had provided her with good luck.

"It was something I made after a dream I had when I was little. It's brought me good luck," Toni replied.

"What is it," Sheba asked getting a good look at the half disc.

"I'm not sure. I don't remember the dream anymore," Toni replied.

"Well, it's worked," Sheba said as she stepped under the water and washed herself.

Toni quickly finished and put some clothes back on and headed to the cafeteria to meet up with Rhea. She saw her waiting by the entrance and a smile graced her face when she noticed Toni.

Toni gave Rhea a hug and then walked into the cafeteria. The grabbed their food and sat down.

"I had another visit from Tries," Toni said watching as Rhea recognized the name.

"He didn't try and pick you up did he," Rhea said and Toni thought she was a spark of jealously in her eyes.

"No, it turns out he served on the Atlantia with my brother," Toni said.

"Wow, did he tell you anything," Rhea said a bit excited about that.

"He answered my question on how he died," Toni said. "It's brought some closure to his death. It was something I always wondered about."

"Did he know," Rhea asked softly.

"Yes, and I wasn't as gruesome as I thought it was," Toni replied. "He was about to launch when the battlestar exploded."

Rhea sat and listened as Toni talked about her bother and some of the adventures they had been on when they were younger. Rhea had laughed at some of their antics and thought about her own brother.

Toni glanced at the time and realized she had to get going. The meeting was not the part of the evening she had dreaded, it was lying to Rhea to leave her for the night. Even though Rhea knew her plan if someone was listening then she had to make everything look right.

"Rhea, I have to meet up with one of my squad members for some more training, Sheba asked me if I would oversee it tonight," Toni said to Rhea who looked over at her.

"All right," Rhea replied wondering what was going on. She had seen the training schedule and knew that there was no activity tonight. Rhea thought about confronting Toni about it but realized that she might just want some space tonight after talking about her brother so much.

Toni left the cafeteria and headed towards the engine room. She had no idea as to what type of meeting to expect; only that she had not been contacted in a while. She walked to the area and noticed that there were a few more than there had been last time she was at the meeting.

Toni saw that Max and Ines were both in attendance and were looking at her. She ignored them for the moment and waited for the meeting to begin. The same woman that had been in control of the previous meeting walked into the center of the group.

"We are close to our goals, we have a member of the council who will back us now," she said. "Apparently there are more people who feel like we do than we had originally thought."

"Then we will be settling down soon," Max said.

Toni listened as the group made some plans and she glanced around and saw two pilots from her squadron. She recalled their records and realized they were not good.

"There is one problem," Toni said speaking up for the first time.

The woman looked at her and waited to see what else Toni would say. Max and Ines also looked at her but they had looks of mistrust in their eyes.

"Settling down is nice, but we still must be ready in case the Cylons ever find us again," Toni said looking right at the two pilots. "Ignoring combat training is deadly regardless of the course of action we take."

"We might also encounter another group of aliens that might be hostile," the woman said then looked at the other pilots in the room. "Toni is correct that ignoring the combat training is dangerous to everyone."

The two pilots realized that their folly in thinking that once they settled down that war would not come to them. They were in a state of peace right now, but everyone realized that sooner or later the Cylons would come calling.

"I'm for settling down, but have you thought all of this through, during the war with the Cylons we had dozens of warships, are we committed to creating a fleet to protect ourselves from them when they finally come back," Toni said looking right at the woman. "My brother was killed aboard the Atlantia under a sign of peace, when the Cylons find us again, and they will they won't have forgotten us, we might have."

"But if we can be view as no threat then they will not attack us," Max said as he stepped close to Toni.

"We haven't been a threat since the destruction of the colonies yet they still hunt us," Toni replied. She glanced at the woman who seemed to understand everything that Toni was saying.

"We'll cross those bridges when we get to them. We are to proceed with the plan. The senator will begin to put pressure on council, that should be enough for us with the addition of the removal of certain people in the military we shall get our way," she said.

Toni leaned against the wall and waited as they talked some more. The group really did not hear what she had said. She had tried to detour the group but they were bent on self destruction.

She listened as she heard a few names being listed. Commander Tigh and Adama were high on the list. Toni then heard a list of those needed to be watched, and Omega, Sterk and Rhea were on that list. She was not sure she liked that.

Toni was sure that it was time to end this group's silly ideals. She would talk with Omega in the morning.

Rhea walked into the cafeteria in the morning as she normally did and looked around to see if Toni was there already. She did not see her and was a bit surprised. She saw Sheba and walked over to her.

"Has Toni come in already," Rhea asked Sheba.

Sheba glanced up and noticed Rhea. "Sorry, she said that she had something important to do this morning," Sheba replied. "Lately I've been getting worried about her. She's hanging around the wrong crowd."

Rhea locked that information away as she realized that Toni had probably infiltrated the group that was behind the attempted assignation of Commander Adama. She wanted to tell Sheba about it but realized that it could be overheard by someone or that it might make Sheba treat Toni differently.

"I wonder what was so important that she did not tell me about it. I hope we are still on for lunch," Rhea said then went and grabbed some breakfast.

Toni glanced around looking for anyone she might recognize from the meeting as she walked to Commander Omega's office. She knocked on the door and waited until it opened. She glanced around and was glad that it was empty.

"Come in, what can I do for you," Omega said trying to be like Adama would be.

"I have some information of what's happening," Toni said as she sat down.

"You were able to gain access to the group," Omega asked remembering what Rhea had told him some time ago. Commander Adama was almost back on his feet and would be back as the fleet admiral real soon.

"Yes, and on board the Hyperion its being lead by a woman, a woman in charge by the way she talks," Toni said.

Omega seemed to think about that. There were a few women that he could think of that were in command areas. Only one he really was not to sure about. He would have to watch her closely.

"They want to get rid of Commanders Adama and Tigh, and they have someone working in the council with them now," Toni said.

Omega sighed and realized who she was talking about. Councilman Uviris, he was always the one working against them. Usually he was a bit more cunning, or he was allied with another person.

"We need to stop them now before they seriously damage the fleet's ability to defend itself against the Cylons," Toni said.

Omega sat back and thought about it for a few seconds. He decided that he would talk it over with Adama and Tigh. They would probably have a better idea of what to do than he would.

"There were also a few others that they would be watching, one is Colonel Sterk and Rhea," Toni said knowing that it would take any suspicion off Rhea that Omega might have even though she was one who knew what was going on.

"That leaves Colonel Bobbie," Omega said thinking about the third in command of the Hyperion. She was new and no one had taken a look at her record as things had happened so fast lately. He would definitely look into it. "I'll talk to Commander Tigh about it and get word back to you somehow, probably through Rhea."

Toni walked out of the office hoping that things might soon get back to normal, whatever that was. She walked over to the bridge and looked around seeing that Rhea was sitting at her post. She noticed the woman from the meeting and deciding that she needed to talk with Rhea she walked over.

Janiel turned in time to see the tall dark haired viper pilot walk towards Rhea. She noticed that her roommate was concentrating on her screen getting everything ready. Maybe this would bring Rhea out of her blue mood this morning. She had heard that Toni had already left the cafeteria this morning when Rhea had arrived.

"Hey," Toni whispered in Rhea's ear as she gave the smaller woman a hug from behind.

Rhea was startled by the action and for a second was not sure who was behind her until she heard Toni's voice. Turning she found herself looking right into the most beautiful blue eyes that she had seen, sure she had seen them before but she never got tired of them.

"Hey yourself," Rhea replied. "I missed you at breakfast."

"Sorry, had something to do," Toni whispered in her ear seeing Rhea smile a bit.

"About time," they heard a voice say and they looked over to see Janiel looking at them with a smile on her face. "She's been grumpy since breakfast."

"I'll see you at lunch for sure," Toni said giving her a quick kiss for good luck and then walked off the bridge knowing that the woman standing in the center of the bridge was watching her. She would deal with her later.

Rhea leaned back in her chair and relaxed a bit after the hectic morning. There were some shuttle transfers along with the normal patrols that had been launched. Rhea had noticed that Toni was not on the list to go on patrol and she would not be able to talk with her until lunch.

Bojay had been on the list and Janiel had been excited about it. She had seemed to begin to form a bond with the brown haired viper pilot. Rhea wondered if they would get together at all of if it was just a fling. She thought about her own budding relationship with Toni and felt like it would become more. She just could not see the relationship being a fling for either of them.

"Rhea, I need to talk with you in private," Omega said coming up to her.

"Okay, Janiel will you be able to handle everything for a minute of two," Rhea asked Janiel.

"Sure," Janiel replied watching as Rhea got up and followed Omega.

"Is there something wrong sir," Rhea asked when they arrived in his office.

"Perhaps," Omega replied. "I got a visit from Toni this morning and the news is not good, but it is manageable still. The group still wants to get ride of Commander Adama, and now Commander Tigh, but they are also watching you. I have a feeling that they might know about your brother's involvement in stopping the poisoning of Commander Adama," Omega told her. He wanted her to know that she might be in danger.

Rhea realized what Toni was doing now when she said that she was going to a meeting; she was really meeting this group and was protecting her. Rhea wished that there was someway that she could Toni without endangering either of them. Rhea decided on the way back to her post that she would do nothing.

"Are you all right," Rhea heard Janiel asked as she sat back down.

"Fine, just some more stuff for me to try and understand about commanding a battlestar. I'm not sure that I want that type of responsibility," Rhea said not revealing what they had talked about just in case Janiel was part of the group. Rhea really hoped that she was not as she liked the woman.

"Oh, stuff I don't want to learn," Janiel replied as they shared a laugh.

"Yeah, but unfortunately I have to learn it," Rhea said with a bit of a sigh.

"Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it," Janiel replied as she turned back to her work as several returning vipers asked for help in a panicky voice. He had forgotten the procedures to land his viper.

Taking a deep breath Rhea spoke calmly to him and talked him through the process.

The metal doors slide open and an IL series Cylon walked into the room. He waited for his commander to turn to allow him to speak. There was silence in the room except for the breathing of a human. The chair swiveled around and the Cylon prepared himself.

"Speak Lucifer," Baltar commanded hoping that the Cylon was brining good news to him.

"By your command Baltar," Lucifer said. "I have news from the supreme Leader. He wished to know of our progress."

"Have our patrols spotted anything yet," Baltar asked in his normal tone.

"No, but we have nothing to report," Lucifer replied.

"Then that's what we tell him, nothing," Baltar replied.

"The supreme leader will want something Baltar," Lucifer replied.

"Tell him that if any of the other basestars have something to report than let me know, otherwise I'm on the right track," Baltar replied swiveling his chair back around.

"By your command," Lucifer said hoping that the supreme leader would not take Baltar's words the wrong way. But as he thought about what Baltar had said he realized that the man was right. None of the other basestars had any information on the human fleet so if he reported nothing yet then it would be nothing more than what the others had reported.

He turned to carry out his orders and left Baltar alone in the command room.

Toni looked through the results of the most recent test results from the simulation that they had run. Sheba had put the new recruits up against the new recruits and it had not been pretty. The veterans had wiped the floor with them even thought they had been outnumbered three to one.

"That was not pretty," Toni said as Sheba came walking into the room. She had to agree with Toni on that one.

"I think that it sobered several of them up a bit," Sheba said. Lately some of the pilots had gotten a bit cocky at their abilities in the simulator. Sheba had talked with the veterans and Toni about running this simulation. Toni had been for it and Sheba could understand why, she wanted to learn.

"I hope so, at least they did not seem too cocky when they excited the simulations so quickly," Toni said agreeing with Sheba. Toni had learned a lot by watching how the veterans were flying. They operated as a unit, where most of the recruits had acted alone.

"There were a few who were harder," Sheba replied. "You and Paul were the hardest, especially once you two teamed up."

"We still have a lot to learn," Toni replied.

"True, but you have that natural ability like the other top pilots," Sheba said. "You want to continue to learn, that's what sets you apart from the others. You're like Starbuck, always learning when he's not gambling or chasing girls. Although I think Cassiopeia would have something to say about that," she said with a smile.

"Well, here's who I think need more practice in teamwork," Toni said handing Sheba the list of names. Sheba looked over the list and nodded her head in agreement. They were the ones who had gone off individuality in the beginning before knowing what they were up against. She hoped that they learned the value of teamwork quickly.

"I'll go and assemble the group," Sheba said walking out of the room.

Toni glanced back down so she did not see the person come in.

"Meeting tonight again, same place and time be there," he said then left the room. Something in the man's voice Toni did not like.

The rest of the morning went quickly for Toni and she was ready to meet with Rhea and hopefully have a nice meal with her. There was also something else that she wanted Rhea to know and had been wondering how to tell Rhea. It had taken her a while to think of a way but now she had one.

"Toni," she heard Rhea say as she approached the cafeteria. The blonde woman had a smile on her face as she came up to Toni and gave her a hug. Toni had a hard time suppressing a smile as well then wondered why she was trying to suppress the smile and returned Rhea's smile.

"Hey, I don't know about you, but I'm starving," Toni said as she released Rhea and without waiting for an answer proceeded to lead Rhea into the cafeteria. They quickly grabbed their food and sat down.

Rhea talked about one of the pilots in another squadron who had given the bridge crew fits today when he had forgotten the landing procedure. Toni nodded her head as she remembered the incident and had been used as a training tool for the others to know where they were and what they were doing at all time.

They finished eating and Toni realized that it was time for her to tell Rhea what was happening, but without telling her. They walked out of the cafeteria to where they normally would part after a kiss. Toni gave Rhea a longer and deeper kiss than they had done before. While she was kissing her she placed a note in Rhea's pocket.

"That's for later," Toni said finding it harder to walk away than she had thought. Rhea had responded more than Toni had expected. She would have loved to have taken a cold shower after that kiss, but duty called.

Rhea sat there a bit stunned by the kiss before shaking herself mentally. She briefly wondered how long she had been standing there with a goofy look on her face. Avoiding any eye contact she quickly made her way back to the bridge to begin the rest of her shift.

Rhea leaned back in her chair and rolled her shoulders. They were becoming stiff from the way she was sitting in the chair. Then with the small lull in traffic she stood up and stretched her legs.

"Is there anything wrong," Rhea heard a female voice behind her ask. Rhea whirled around and noticed the woman commander standing behind her.

"No, just stretching," Rhea replied.

"Stick to your work," the woman said.

"Yes, but sitting for too long is not good," Rhea replied.

"As long as it doesn't endanger the operations of this ship," the woman said again. Her tone was beginning to get on Rhea's nerves.

"Easy colonel," a voice said over their exchange. Both looked to see Omega walking towards them. "If the flight operators need to stretch then they can, they know when they can and can not."

"I was just point out..."

"I know what you were doing colonel, but Rhea is a very capable woman, and you are still getting the hang of commanding a battlestar," Omega said.

"Very well commander," the woman said before heading back to her station.

"Sorry about that, she's had something bothering her all day. I tried to ask her what it was but she won't tell me," Omega said.

"It's alright," Rhea replied as she sat back down and rubbed her thighs. She felt something in her pocket that she did not remember putting in there. She retrieved it and noticed that it was a note. Quickly opening it up she scanned it. Reading the note it dawned on her why Toni was acting the way she had been.

Toni's note mentioned that they group was ready to act soon and that there was a meeting tonight. Toni's impression was the group was going to begin their plans either tonight or tomorrow morning. She also left where the meeting was and when.

Rhea put the note back into her pocket and wondered what to do. She needed to talk with Commander Omega about it real soon. She worked a bit more then decided that she needed to go to the bathroom. She quickly talked with Janiel where she would be and quickly walked out. She needed to find a way to talk with Omega but how. Just walking over might attract attention that she did not want.

Walking back onto the bridge she figured out a way. He was still training her to command a battlestar and she figured that a question on that topic would be the best way to get him alone.

Omega watched as Rhea approached him. He had been surprised by the ability of the young woman to learn the difficulties of command. She had questioned him several times about certain areas of command, from what to do in operating the battlestar. Now it looked like she had some more questions.

They talked for a few minutes before Rhea quietly asked if there was somewhere private they could talk. Omega led her to his office and then sat down at the desk. He could tell something was on the smaller woman's mind and he waited for her to say what it was.

Rhea handed Omega the note that Toni had given her earlier in the day and watched as he read the note. She briefly wondered what his reaction would be to the situation.

"I guess that she is pretty sure about this," Omega said looking up to Rhea after he had finished reading the note. An idea was forming in his head about what they could do about this. "I think that we can take it from here Rhea, thanks for you help."

"Yes sir," Rhea replied and walked back out to the bridge to resume her work.

Rhea waited for Toni to appear so they could eat dinner. It was a common occurrence lately. Toni's shifts were usually a bit later than hers were so she would wait for her at the cafeteria. She had gone once to meet Toni at her quarters but they had missed each other so she did not do that now.

Rhea glanced up and saw the tall dark haired beauty come walking towards her and a smile broke out on her face that she could not stop. A smile came to Toni's face as well as Rhea greeted her with a hug.

Together they went inside the cafeteria and talked about their day. Rhea usually found Toni's day to be more exciting than hers, although there would be a couple of things that Rhea would hear from the other battlestars.

Today they just talked about anything and everything. Toni was trying to come up with an excuse so she could get to the meeting without rising suspicion in case Rhea did not get her message earlier in the day. As the time approached she did not have to worry as Commander Omega came into the cafeteria and walked over to where Rhea was.

"Rhea, I was wondering if you could cover for Julie, she came down ill all of a sudden," Omega asked. "It would only be for an hour or so."

Rhea thought about it and realized that Toni had a meeting tonight and this would give her an excuse to go.

"Okay, Julie's not really ill is she," Rhea asked now concerned with the health of one of her girls.

"Not too bad. I sent her to the med lab to get some medicine for a headache. She should be back in an hour or so. The traffic is pretty light right now," Omega said.

"I hope that you're not disappointed that I have a duty to perform," Rhea asked looking at Toni.

"No, you've put up with me and my schedule lately so the least I can do is accommodate yours," Toni said then gave Rhea a kiss. Toni watched Rhea walk out with Omega and a part of her wondered if that was planned or not. She guessed that she would have to wait to find out.

Toni checked the clock and noticed that it was time to go. She wondered what this meeting would have in store for her tonight. Only time would tell.

Toni walked into the area where there were several others all ready standing around waiting for the meeting to begin. She noticed that the woman who seemed to be in charge was already there waiting for everyone to gather.

"All right everyone let's get this underway," the woman said after a few more minutes of waiting around. "Tonight we begin our operation to take over the fleet. We have backing from the council member Uviris. We will begin by taking control over the Hyperion and the Agamemnon then with council pressure we will have Adama step down and we will settle on the closest planet that will support us."

"Thank you Colonel Bobbie," a voice said from behind Toni. Everyone turned around to see several people step out from the shadows. Toni recognized Captain Apollo and Starbuck, and there were a few others with him that she did not recognize. One was a man wearing a blue command uniform with white hair.

"So you heard, I figured on that," another man said stepping out from behind Colonel Bobbie. "The council will side with me."

"I don't think so Uviris," Adama replied. "You have a lot to answer for Uviris."

"You can't blame me for someone trying to poison you," Uviris said.

"That's funny council man, we never said he was poisoned," Apollo said stepping forward as there was a bit of anger in his voice.

"I am part of the council, we were told," Uviris replied.

"No Uviris, we were told he had a heart attack, not poisoned," a man said stepping into the room. "Is what he says true Commander Adama?"

"Yes, someone tried to poison me, fortunately we found out about it or they would have succeeded," Adama replied to the man.

Toni watched the conversation along with everyone else. She knew that an important power play was underway and it would affect the fleet for years to come. She just hoped that Commander Adama won.

"So now you are trying to say I was part of all this," Uviris said. "They brought me into it saying that they could get rid of you and make me the leader of the fleet. I was approached by someone named Max."

"You liar" Max said as he walked out towards Uviris. "You would string me out to take your fall. You were the one who wanted Commander Adama killed in agreement for your help. You're the one who wanted control of the fleet, you're the one who wanted other council members bought or bribed for their support."

"Shut up you fool," Uviris hissed watching as his plans fell apart. "We can still rectify the situation," he said with a smile. "We outnumber you commander," he sneered.

"True, but the council would know the truth," Adama said as the rest of the council came into the room.

Toni watched as Uviris paled a bit as he realized that many of the high ranking council members were there. Glancing around he noticed that some still supported him, but there were too many to keep the truth from coming out. He figured that his career was ruined anyway.

Starbuck saw him make the move before anyone else as Uviris grabbed a pistol from a nearby pilot. Toni saw him grab the weapon and raise it realizing that he was intending to kill Commander Adama. In reflex she drew her own weapon along with Starbuck.

Two shots rang out and for a moment everyone held their breath. Uviris stumbled for a second before falling to the ground the weapon still clutched in his hand.

"Everyone calm down," Adama said in his commanding voice getting everyone's attention. "I know that we have been on the run for a while, and that times are hard, but there is something that Uviris and you too Colonel Bobbie had forgotten," Adama said looking right at the woman.

"What have we forgotten Commander," Bobbie asked, her voice calm and controlled.

"We are traveling slowly, and the Cylons if they knew where we were could intercept us here in less than six months," Adama said watching as people's eyes grew in shock.

"We're further than that from Cylon space," Bobbie replied not wanting to believe that.

"The Cylon basestars have a speed similar to a battlestars speed or have you forgotten that," Adama said. "We could still be attacked any moment now," Adama said. "The only thing that keeps us safe now is our mobility."

"So what happens now," Bobbie asked for everyone assembled.

"Go back to your jobs, do your duty," Adama said having given the situation serious thought earlier in the day. His mission here was to catch the mastermind behind it all.

"You would allow us to do that," Bobbie replied in shock.

"Bobbie, I didn't become commander by not listening to others, you are part of the military, and right now we need you too. I know that we are tired of living on ships, I'm tired of it as well," Adama said. "I want my grandson to grow up on a planet, but I also want him to be safe. If the day comes when the perfect place appears, we will discuss it then, but for now we must put distance between us and the Cylons."

"I don't like it, but it will do for now," Bobbie said.

"Colonel, next time just ask me and talk about it before starting a revolt," Adama asked.

"Colonel, there are some of us that would fight for you, but we will not if you use violence to achieve your goals," one person of the council said. "We might now agree with Adama, but he had earned our respect," and with that he walked out of the room.

Bobbie nodded her head to Adama and walked out of the room. The others slowly began to walk out until only a few were left.

"I'm sorry commander," one man said to Adama and Toni figured that he was part of the council. "I guess we should pay more attention to the people."

"It's all right, I figured that something like this would happen, it just took longer than I expected," Adama said.

"That was a pretty good shot kid," Starbuck said as he walked up to Toni. They had both fired at about the same time and both had hit Uviris.

"It was just instinct," Toni replied.

"You were our inside person," a dark skinned pilot said coming up beside them.

"Yes," Toni said with a nod of her head.

"Good job, I'm Boomer," the man said extending his hand.

"Toni," she replied shaking the man's hand.

"So, you're Toni," Starbuck said as he finally placed the woman. She had been part of the first recruits to be pilots and had done a good job in the simulators. He had recalled that she had no previous training. "Sheba says good things about you."

"So you're Gold Two," Boomer said placing everything he had heard together. Starbuck and Apollo had been talking about a pilot who was good and had become Sheba's second in command.

"That would be me," Toni replied not sure if she wanted the attention. She was still green compared to these two pilots. They were the ones with the skills, not her. They had proven themselves in battle and yet they were giving her compliments. They watched as a clean up crew came and took away Uviris' body.

"I should probably go," Toni said looking at the time. Rhea might be back in her quarters by now. Toni knew that Rhea would want to know what happened and that the woman had probably received her note.

The group watched as the tall raven haired beauty walked out of the room. Adama knew that he had another one who he could trust, and worry about. She had done quiet a bit already and if Omega was correct he figured that she was on her way to meet up with her girlfriend, Rhea.

Toni knocked on the door to Rhea's quarters hoping that she was not asleep yet. The door opened and Rhea was standing in the doorway. Toni could not help but smile.

"Hey, I see you got my message earlier today," Toni asked as she walked inside Rhea's quarters.

"Took me a while to find it," Rhea replied honestly.

"You didn't feel me put my hand in your pocket," Toni asked watching a blush begin to appear on Rhea's face.

"I, um, was a bit busy at the time if I recall," Rhea said feeling the heat in her cheeks even as she smiled.

"I see," Toni replied with a gleam in her eyes as she stepped closer to Rhea.

"I take it that the meeting went well," Rhea said.

"It went just fine and its over for now," Toni replied as she leaned down closer to Rhea.

"That's good," Rhea said as Toni's lips found hers and she closed her eyes and just let herself feel everything.

They spend some time just kissing and enjoying each other not hearing anything else.

"Hey, would you mind getting a room, oh wait a minute you have a room," a voice said behind them. They turned to see Janiel sitting on the bed watching them.

"Oh, hi Janiel," Rhea said a bit embarrassed that they had not heard her roommate come into the room.

"I realize that you two lovebirds are having fun, but could you do it somewhere else, I have an early morning tomorrow, and so do you Rhea," Janiel said as she got up and went to the bathroom.

"I'll have to work out a signal with Janiel so she won't walk in on us doing more," Rhea said with a bit of a blush realizing where they were probably headed if Janiel had not stopped them.

"Just let me know, the barracks offer no privacy," Toni said with a smirk.

"I'll see you in the morning then," Rhea said as they kissed one more time before parting.

"Report centurion," Baltar's voice said with a harsh tone in it.

"The patrols have picked up a disturbance in an asteroid field, we are investigation it now," the centurion replied in the metallic voice they had.

"Is there any sign of the Galactica," the man said.

"No," came the reply.

"Then ignore the asteroid field and continue on course," Baltar said giving his command. He could feel that Adama and the Galactica were close and revenge would be his at last.

"Well, what are you still standing here for," Baltar said watching as the centurion still stood in front of him.

"By your command," the centurion finally said with a slight bow and walked out of the room to carry out Baltar's order.

"What is it Lucifer," Baltar finally said after a few minutes of silence by the IL series Cylon.

"If I may Baltar," Lucifer said inwardly wondering how Baltar could tell what he was thinking about. "We should not ignore the asteroid field, it might provide a clue if the Galactica was even here."

"No, the Galactica was here, I can feel it," Baltar said with a smile crossing his face as he thought about the Galactica's destruction.
