This is my first writing on the web. Comments are welcome but try to be nice, even if you think it's a piece of shit. Special thanks to my Beta Reader Kerrie. She did an excellent job, and made it easier to read.

In the beginning God hadn't created light yet, so She couldn't see a thing. God was curious what Her first creations looked like. After an eternity of boredom, She had created angels, hoping that they would be a pleasant distraction.

They turned out to be pretty boring themselves.

If they didn't fight among each other over nothing, cause She hadn't created anything else yet, they would try to suck up to Her, hoping to become Her favourite. All except one, Gabrielle. She was sweet, and sometimes even entertaining. All talk and no ears. And what an imagination she had. Telling stories that contained the oddest creatures. The names she would come up with: Elephant, giraffe, whale and so much more. They sounded so exotic. Yeah, she could be entertaining. But not enough to last forever.

Gabrielle could have spread some light in the darkness, if it wasn't for Lucifer. God, he really got on Her nerves. He was the father of all sweet talkers. Well, he could talk sweet from now till forever, She just didn't trust him. He even sucked up pretty bad.

And yes! He tried. More times than there would be stars in the universe.Purring in Her ears, with that honey dripping voice of his. How divine She was, how good She was at everything, what a great sense of humour She had. Well, one of these days he would find out how great it really was. But now She kept him at bay, but still close by, so She could keep an ear on him.

What disturbed Her more was the fact that there was a growing group of angels that flocked around him, that seemed to be charmed by him. Sometimes it even seemed like they were worshipping him. She couldn't have that. They should only be allowed to worship Her. Their Creator. Not this "Son of Darkness", as he called himself.

How apt. If there were shades of darkness, he would probably be the darkest. Even darker than that black hole She had created.

Before the angels had been created, She tried to entertain Herself by attempting to throw marbles into that black hole. It wasn't an easy task, considering the fact that She couldn't see. So She cheated a little bit by adding a small amount of gravity to the hole. OK, She cheated a lot.

But there was nobody around to accuse Her of foul play. So it didn't really matter, right? What She had not foreseen was, that Her plan backfired at Her. The more marbles She threw in it, the stronger its gravity seemed to become. She sensed that there was a pressure building inside it. Sometimes She thought She even heard a rumbling. So She stopped the marble game, and forbade everyone to ever play it again. And that was where the trouble lay. She had the idea that Lucifer and his gathering played it behind Her back. When She had forbidden it, there was a lot of muttering among the angels. Although She had explained why they couldn't play it anymore, some of them seemed to have the idea that She had forbidden it just to annoy them. And even if She could not prove it, She had a distinct feeling that Lucifer was feeding those rumours.

And lately She felt the pressure in the black hole growing again. Meaning that one or more creatures were adding material to it. And if She had to put Her whole existence on the line, She would bet on Lucifer and his anxious angels to be responsible for it. So She had to come up with an idea to distract them from their mutiny. And while She was thinking about Lucifer and his presumed actions, it just popped up in Her head. "Two can play that game," She thought, "and I can even play it better. So let's see what your little game is leading to."

God started throwing more and more marbles into the black hole. That scared the angels. Gabrielle asked Her :"God, What are you doing? Have You not warned us Yourself that this could be dangerous?"

"Yes I did," She said: "But it seems like some of you think that they can play this game behind My back. You fools, didn't you think I would find out eventually?

Well, let's see where this game you thought you could play with Me, will lead us."

She kept throwing marbles into the dark pit, faster and faster, till a rumbling from deep inside it could be heard. Most of the angels clutched at Her, frightened.

The rumbling grew. Louder and louder the sound from the hole became. Fortunately no one could see a thing, otherwise the angels would have looked at a very pale Divinity.

Finally the pit exploded. Spewing out all kind of materials into the expansion. In the flash of the explosion, God saw that there were even bigger marbles spat out than they had thrown in. "Aha, so some of them are sucked in by the gravity of others, and form bigger spheres together." She liked it. But God also liked the idea that for an instant, She had been able to see. It had left Her in awe. She wanted that again.

"Let's see, what do I need to create this again? Some helium, some hydrogen and a lot of pressure." She started to add these elements to several of the spheres that were now spread among the universe. One by one, they started to light up. There they were, hot shining stars that lit up a whole new universe. Nebulas, planets, comets, and so much more. In amazing colours. Several angels had fallen to their knees, looking up to Her with eyes full of admiration. One of them spoke to Her with tears in her eyes: "You really are the most powerful Being, look at what You have created. It's awesome." Then the angel grabbed Her hand and started kissing it in adoration. And even as God was impressed by what She saw in the sky, She was awestruck by the vision in front of Her. Recognizing the voice, She realized that this was Gabrielle. God stared at the most beautiful face She had ever seen. God thought that although She had never seen a face before, She would never meet a more appealing creature than the one kneeling before Her. Adding more to Her confusion were the little explosions that seemed to take place in Her being, whenever those soft lips touched Her.

There was a movement in the corner of Her eye that made Her look up. There was an angel approaching them, with a look on his face that seemed to be a mixture of jealousy, anger and something that could have been fear. He grabbed Gabrielle by the shoulders and pushed her away. "Don't you dare touch Her! Or look Her straight into the eyes. We lesser beings should bow our heads when we address ourselves to God."

Then he turned to Her.

"You really are the most divine creature, the beginning of all, the reason that we exist, let us kneel and bow our heads to You." And while he and a couple of angels knelt before Her, other angels remained standing up, looking at Her with eyes filled with confussion. She thought: "Oh yeah, that's him. Even if I had not recognized his voice, his slippery and servile behaviour would have given him away."

"Get up Lucifer." Then She took Gabrielle's hand and pulled her to Her. "You never have to kneel before Me, other than out of respect, or if I ask you to do that. But not because you just happen to be in My presence." Lifting Gabrielle's head up with a finger under her chin, God spoke:"And don't you ever divert your eyes from Me, I always want to be able to look into them to see the truth that lies within." Turning Her eyes to Lucifer, God continued: "When you look away from Me, I might get the idea that you are hiding something, or that you are lying to Me." When Lucifer turned his head away from Her, God looked Gabrielle in the eyes again. "You will always be allowed to touch Me if you want to show your affection, or when you want to let Me know you care for Me. Never underestimate the power of touch. It is an important way to communicate. That goes for all of you." God looked up again and saw how Lucifer quickly turned his eyes down again. The look She had seen in his eyes She could only describe as hatred. But for whom? Her or Gabrielle? God decided that from then on, She'd better keep an eye on him.

There was enough to explore, to keep them all busy for a long time. So Lucifer and his gang were too distracted to conspire against Her. In that time, God became very charmed by a tiny planet that circled around a small star. Its colour was blue, because it contained water. And there were swirling clouds in the sky above.

Then She started adding green things to it. But under the influence of the sun and water and soil, they started growing so fast, that soon the whole planet was covered with these green things. God was disappointed. Another one of Her experiments that didn't quite work out the way She had planned it.

Actually, She wanted this planet to even look nicer than it was by origin. Her plan was to surprise Gabrielle. She had a hard time keeping this a secret from her. Every time She wanted to go to this section of the universe, She had to send Gabrielle away with the most ridiculous requests. The first time She sent her to gather some space dust from a specific nebula. When Gabrielle asked Her what would be the purpose of that, She answered that would be revealed at the right time. That kept Gabrielle busy for some time, but not long enough. So then She sent Gabrielle on a mission to gather ice. That took her a lot longer to get. But it still wasn't enough. Now God was looking at this small marble, while Gabrielle was on her latest task to find loads of clay, contemplating blowing the whole thing up. And when She finally had made up Her mind to do exactly that, She heard a delightful squeal from behind. There stood Gabrielle with Lucifer beside her, looking around her in awe. Here was a little star with several smaller spheres circling around it. God had used the spacedust she had gathered to create small rings around one of those spheres. Circling round some of these spheres were even smaller ones, and one of them was covered with the ice she had collected. But what really got her attention was the blue one with green and white in it. Gabrielle hugged God and whispered breathlessly :"It's beautiful."

Then she took a closer look.

"Oh, You created earth."

God looked at her in puzzlement. "Earth?"

"Yes, You know, the place that I told You about. Look, You are even growing plants." Gabrielle said while she pointed at the green somethings.

"Ah, yes, of course, plants! The things that grow out of the ground. But you see, I have a problem with them. They grow too fast."

"Then You have to add some creatures that will eat them, so they don't get the chance to cover everything up."

"I thought about that." God said, quickly anticipating the situation. "Why do you think you had to get me so much clay?"

She took some of the clay and made a form out of it that had four legs, a long nose and giant ears. When She finished it, God blew some hot air into its nose and it started moving. Elephant." Gabrielle said.

"That's right, I make them and you are going to give them names."

They filled their time like that,God creating the oddest creatures, and Gabrielle naming them. Giraffes, butterflies, bumblebees, sheep, monkeys and more, much more than that, till there was just a small amount of clay left.

"Tomorrow We will think of what to do with that, but now We are going to rest."

Seeing the disappointed look on Gabrielle's face God said: "I promise you that it will be something special." Gabrielle beamed at Her and God thought: "Oh yeah, I really am going to make it special." Neither of them noticed that they were watched by a pair of jealous eyes.

Lucifer was outraged. He was the chosen one, or at least he should be. He was special, he just knew it, and a lot of other angels seemed to acknowledge it too. If it wasn't for that partyspoiler, God would have noticed it also. But little miss "goody two shoes" was keeping him out of the spotlight. As if it was such a big achievement to give names to God's creations. He would show Her that he could accomplish more than that.

With that in mind, Lucifer took what was left of the clay and started to mould it. If there were angels watching him, they would have seen the shape of it becoming more and more like Lucifer himself. As the true narcissist he was, he created it in his own image. Except for the wings. Only God was allowed to give wings. But he wanted to add something that would make it look different. He had a small piece of clay left. So he made a tail out of it. But it didn't have the effect he had hoped for. As if he was looking at a naked monkey. So he put the tail upfront. In his opinion, it was much better. No, not better, it looked hot! But it didn't move. So he blew on it. That only led to that funny looking tail getting up. He started to giggle. It looked ridiculous. Perhaps he better remove it. But then he heard someone gasping behind him. He turned around and saw God and Gabrielle who approached him at full speed. Then he remembered, he put his hands round the creature's face, and when he started to blow air into its nose, he heard God shout. "Don't do it." But it was too late. The creature started to move.

"What have you done?" Before him stood a furious God. Her eyes shot flashes of lightning at him. He ducked away, screaming at Her not to hurt him.

"You fool, you brought disaster into this world. Through your breath you have filled this creature with all your flaws and all your shortcomings. I never wanted to bring THAT into this world. I have to put a balance to it."

God then took a ray of light and mixed it with Her purest thoughts. When the sunbeam hit the earth there were sparks flying everywhere, and out of it a figure appeared. It was the spitting image of Gabrielle. Except for the wings. But God wasn't done yet. She brought the two beings together. From the female form a light started to wrap itself round the two of them, and in the middle of it the two started to melt into one. The light grew brighter and brighter, till finally it ended in a big explosion. When the smoke dissolved two figures lay on the ground with a tree standing between them.

"What happened?" Lucifer whispered with a fearful expression on his face.

"First I created a pure creature, opposite to your evil one, then I brought the good and the bad together to melt into one, and then I separated them, leaving the bad in the middle." God explained with a smirk on Her face. She was so proud of Her own solution, She nearly gloated.

"Now Gabrielle, how are you going to name our newborns?"

"The name for this species will be humans, but I like to give them individual names too."

"Why?" God and Lucifer both asked.

"Because they are made to our likeness, and we have our own names too."

"And what will their names be?"

"I think that Adam and Eve has a nice ring to it."

"No way, I should name the man, for I have created him." Lucifer said sulking.

"And what would you like to call him?" God asked with a silky voice.

"Little Lucifer, or Lucifer Jr. Or something like that."

God rolled her eyes. "Well Luci baby," God said with a sweet voice, "you better get that boring idea out of your head before I put it up your ass, cause no way I am going to reward you for creating such filth." She pointed at the tree.

"Eve and Adam it will be."

"What about the tree?" Gabrielle asked.

"There is nothing much I can do about that. If I destroy it, the evil that's inside will be set loose on the world. And these two can't eat from it, otherwise their evil part will return. Do you want to name it too?"

"I thought that because it was made out of figures I should name it fig."

God saw that Gabrielle looked tired. Probably exhausted from the turmoil of the six earth days that had already passed. Fortunately the sun was starting to go down.

"Tomorrow will be the seventh day of this little planet. We will use that day to rest."

Seeing Gabrielle's face light up at her words, God felt Herself get warm. The day had ended by Her doing something right.
