~ Dress Blues ~

She looked so good standing up on the stage in her dress uniform, the ribbons decorating her chest and the medal shining. She stood so tall and straight; the pride shining in her eyes, God the woman was hot! Yvette looked over the rest of the men and women that stood with Luce on that stage and none of the men looked as handsome as her Luce did, and for sure none of the women even held a candle to her. Just what is it about a uniform that makes one go weak in the knees, let alone a police dress uniform? For Yvette a uniform was just a set of clothes, nothing special, and while the thought of a woman in uniform had its effect on her, the thought of Luce in any uniform got her down right wet.

Luce had the build for a uniform; she was tall, had an athletic build, was strong enough to bench press fifty pounds, had very toned muscles capable of taking down a 200-pound man and still be gentle enough to hold any woman of her choice or a baby with the utmost tenderness. She was confident without being cocky and she held a sense of duty and dedication very close to her heart. Yvette's eyes had been looking over the others on stage and brought them back to her partner to catch the striking blue eyes watching her, a smug smile on the square yet feminine jaw. That was the smile that got Yvette to agree to the first date. Yvette remembered she had been out at a bar with her friends at the insistence of one of them. They claimed, 'There is this woman you just have to meet!'. After weeks of saying no, she finally gave in and agreed to join them.

The bar was crowded and noisy and the minute Yvette walked in she regretted saying she would go. After a drink she was ready leave; one, because she hated bars like this and two, because this 'perfect woman' never showed. Feeling as though she was being watched she looked over to the bar and saw an amazing set of blue eyes watching her. One of her friends caught her looking in that direction and turned to see who she was looking at. Marcy had warned her saying, "Don't even bother, that's the ice queen. She always sits there drinking club soda, refuses anyone that offers to buy her a drink or even asks for a dance."

"Who is she?" Yvette asked.

"I think her name is Luce, other than that I don't think anyone knows. Ask Lindsey, she might know." But before Yvette could decide whether she wanted to do that, a waitress appeared with a drink for her saying, "Luce asked me to bring this to you, told me to tell you she would be honored if you'd accept it."

"Thank you," Yvette said as she accepted the drink. She looked over to the tall, dark-haired woman who sat at the bar and nodded her thanks as she lifted the drink and then brought it to her lips. Luce smiled immediately as Yvette's friends did a round of cheers. Of course there were a couple of women who shot daggers at both Yvette and Luce. Yvette turned her attention back to her friends and the conversation at hand; the next time she looked over to the bar the dark-haired woman was gone and for some reason Yvette all of a sudden felt let down and ready to leave. Within the next hour or so her thoughts kept going back to the woman. Finally giving up, she told her friends that she was leaving; she made up the excuse of having come down with a headache and just wanting to go home and sleep.

A week later, Yvette was driving down the freeway at a speed that was well above legal limits. It had been a bad day at work and she had been thinking about something stupid rather than paying attention to her speedometer. The next thing she knew, she saw lights flashing in her rearview and a siren blaring behind her. She pulled over at the next available area, feeling the tears already forming in her eyes, which really annoyed her because she hated women who used tears to get out of tickets. As she wiped at her tears the knock at her window sounded and she rolled it down while reaching for her purse.

"Can I see your license, proof of insurance and registration please?" sounded the deep rich voice.

"I'm sorry officer; I won't give you excuses for my speeding, I know I'm guilty. Here is all my information."

"Well hi there, good to see you again Ms. Mendez."

"Do I know you?" Yvette asked, as she finally looked up at the officer standing outside her car door. The dark sunglasses, framed the square-jawed tan face of the dark-haired woman from the bar a week before, the woman everyone called the 'ice queen'. "Oh hi!" she said as she instantly felt warm inside, as a smile crept over her lips.

"Sorry for having to stop you, but you were going just a little faster than you should. Actually you were going a lot faster than you should," Luce said with a smile.

"I'm sorry. I don't have any excuse for it I know I was, just give me the ticket."

"Well actually if you promise to slow it down, I'll let you by with just a warning." Luce said with a dazzling smile.

"Oh, I promise!"

"Good, I'd like to ask you out to dinner sometime." Luce said as she took her sunglasses off.

"Oh, well I'm not sure about that, I've just recently gotten out of a relationship and not ready for anything," Yvette answered, feeling a little guilty at the fact that said relationship ended two years before. She just didn't want to be played and from everything she had heard from her friends the other night, this gorgeous creature was a player. That was when Luce flashed that smile, the one that said 'oh you'll agree because I can tell you're interested,' the one that showed the confident, strong and cocky woman inside.

"It's just dinner, no life-long commitment or anything like that; I promise," Luce said with a soft teasing tone in her voice and sparkle in her eyes,

"Well, okay. I suppose one dinner would be alright. Let me give you my address and phone number."

"I have it already, thanks."

"How ... ?"

"Here's your license and other things back. I'll give you a call after my shift alright?" Luce said as she handed Yvette her things back, flashing that smile again.

"Oh that's how you knew," Yvette said a tinge of red coloring her face. "And I look forward to hearing from you officer ... ?"

"Sorry. Velasquez, Luce Velasquez. Drive safely now alright? And I'll give you a call later," Luce said as she put her glasses back on and stepped back from the car then walked to hers. Yvette watched the officer in her rearview. The gun belt hugged her hips and the dark blue shirt clung to her back up to her square shoulders, along with the way the pants fit the long legs and butt made Yvette draw in a deep breath of appreciation.

Bringing back her thoughts to the stage and the thundering applause, seeing her love standing there at attention and a new medal around her neck made her so proud she nearly burst with pride. Everything about Luce made her proud. As the audience started to stand and move towards the reception area, Yvette slowly walked towards Luce who walked with her hat in her hands and a smile that said "let's get out of here," a smile that Yvette knew well. The tall woman walked up to Yvette and in a low voice said, "Why don't we get out of here and make our own celebration?"

"Mm, what did you have in mind Agent Velazquez?"

"Oh I was thinking maybe a late dinner then maybe we could put to use these cool handcuffs I got with my Police belt and stuff," Luce said with a wiggle of her eye brows. With a laugh Yvette reached for the gloved hand of her partner of a year and led the way out, trying with out a lot of success to avoid people who wanted to congratulate Luce on her promotion. A promotion to an even more dangerous job, Yvette hated the idea of Luce working for the DEA but what was she suppose to say.

"Hey, Babe are you okay?" Luce asked.

"Of course I am, why?" Yvette answered.

"Well because I asked if you were ready to leave at least three times just now."

"Oh, yes I am. I'm sorry, just off in my own little world for a second there I suppose."

"Oh yeah, what were you thinking Babe?"

"Mm I was thinking about how good you look in your uniform."

"Well thank you Sweetheart, might I add that you look fabulous, although I have to ask," Luce leaned in to whisper, "What do you have on under that dress? A thong?"

"Actually since you asked," Yvette whispered back, "Not a thing ..." and then turned and added a slight more sway to her hips causing Luce to choke on the last of her water. Luce was quickly behind the woman although not too close because it would have been a shame to waste such good hip action, one which got quite a few of her fellow Agents attention as well ... in fact she couldn't be one hundred percent sure but she thought she saw a couple of women check out Yvette's ass as well.

Luce was right behind Yvette when they approached the car and swung her around into her arms as she pinned her to the door. Luce's mouth descended hard on the soft sweet lips as she pushed against the black-eyed beauty. Yvette kissed back just as hard, though she didn't forget where they were. After a few seconds of kissing and nipping at Luce's lips she pulled her head back and in a breathless voice suggested they forget dinner all together and just head home. With a small growl Luce opened the passenger door for her lady and rushed to her door on the driver's side and slid in. As soon as they were on the road Yvette slid closer and her hand started slowly moving up and down Luce's leg as a wicked grin on her face appeared. "So do you want to know exactly how seeing you in your uniform affects me? How about I tell you anyway? It gets me hot. My pulse starts to race and I start to feel this, mmmmm throbbing between my legs, I can't tell you how wet I get."

Luce started sweating, 'Damn its hot in here, I should have taken my jacket and tie off,' she thought. She could feel Yvette's hand on her thigh, as she glanced over she saw Yvette's other hand slowly moving up between her own legs. That action alone brought a deep intake of breath from Luce, the fact that Yvette threw her head back in pleasure as she imagined her fingers belonging to Luce, only made Luce want to get home even faster.

As she sped up, her attention was divided between driving and Yvette's hands, after a few blaring horns, she finally told the woman beside her to please stop before she ran into some innocent person. With an evil smile Yvette said alright and Luce glanced over with a smile of her own. Without warning a car in the lane next to them swerved into them spinning them around into oncoming traffic. Before she could do a thing they were hit on the driver's side by a sedan carrying a family of four. Luce slammed into the steering wheel completely unaware of anything from that moment forward.

Six months later...

"Hey baby what are you thinking?"

"Oh nothing really, I was just thinking maybe we should talk a weekend off and go somewhere what do you think?"

"Where were you thinking of going Luce?" Yvette asked.

"Oh I don't know, just somewhere where we can be together without all the pressures of life lately."

"Hm, sounds great, unfortunately I'm not sure I can manage to get any time off any time soon."

"Oh, well forget I mentioned anything then," Luce said as she grabbed her cup and headed back to the kitchen.

"Hey don't walk out or be upset," Yvette called.

"Never mind, it was just a thought. Look I need to go. I have a meeting I'm already gonna be late to."

"Luce, maybe we can have a nice romantic dinner tonight? I'll get off early and make something special."

"Sounds good," Luce said as she slipped on her coat and headed towards the door.

"What? No kiss?"

"Sorry," Luce said as she placed a rushed kiss on Yvette's cheek, avoiding her eyes.

"God damn it!" Yvette swore as the door closed on her. Yvette turned on her heel and headed for the phone.

"Hi Suzie, is there any way we can meet for lunch?"

"I'm pretty sure we can what's up?" answered the voice on the other end.

"I can't take it anymore."

"Oh no it's gotten that bad?"

"Yes Luce is just so moody anymore! God she mentioned going away for a weekend and when I said I wasn't sure I could get anytime off she immediately went cold and did all she could to just rush out."

"Ouch! Let's meet at the usual place around noon and we'll talk." With plans made Yvette went on with her day. A few hours later she found herself sitting at one of her favorite places to eat spilling her feelings to her best friend.

"So anyway we are supposed to have a romantic dinner tonight, that's assuming she shows up on time and not after dinner is ruined."

"Okay and what if she doesn't show up until late?"

"Then I'm done, she swears she wants to spend time with me and yet when I make arrangements for that she stands me up! We get to a point where I think maybe we will be intimate and she pulls away or I end up feeling like she is just going through the motions."

"Wow, how long has that been going on?"

"Months now, I've asked her if her feelings have changed, if she wants out and it's always 'No I don't and they haven't you're imaging things.'. We're in serious trouble and she refuses to even acknowledge it. So my question to you is, if I'm stood up again tonight can I crash at your place until I get a place set up? It shouldn't be long, I have money set aside, I've just been reluctant to lease a place. I guess I've just been hoping things would change."

"Of course you can, you know both Dannie and I love having you around."

"Thanks, you guys are super."

"Hey things will be alright," Susie said as she watched her childhood friend. She could see that Yvette was worried and upset and that worried her. Of the two Yvette was the one that lent a shoulder to cry on, not the one crying on shoulders.

"I hope so. I'm sorry. Thanks for listening Susie; lunch was great."

"Always is when we get together, don't worry about the bill, I got it this time."

"Are you sure?"

"Of course I am, you got it last time," Susie replied as she place enough money on the table to cover the bill and tip. The two women stood and walked out of the diner then hugged as they said their goodbyes. "You know where the extra key is so if you need, let yourself in. I'll have the guest room ready just incase."

"Thank you Susie you're a lifesaver."

"Don't worry about it; you'd do the same for me. I'll see you tomorrow morning if you're there, hopefully things go well, and if not call me and tell me all about it ok?"

"Sure thing, love ya sweetie," Yvette said as she give her friend one last hug.

"Love you too."

Dinner was ready, table set, the candles cast a nice romantic glow, soft music was playing -- the only thing missing was Luce. Yvette looked at the clock on the wall and with each passing minute grew all the more upset. Another dinner ruined, another night spent hoping her partner would give her some consideration. Her worry was that Luce was a completely dedicated person in everything she did. She held herself to a standard that most didn't. Not once in the entire two years they had been together had Luce ever treated her as she had in the last six months. Yvette had given her chance after chance to realize what was happening to them and she refused to see, well she was done. She blew out the candles, walked to the bedroom and grabbed her bag, then walked out of the apartment. Hours later Luce stumbled in more than a little tipsy. Realizing the apartment was quiet she flipped on the light and saw a dried, ruined dinner on the table. Flipping off the light again she walked to the bedroom, not even noticing if her partner was in bed, and collapsed. The next morning when she woke and noticed Yvette was gone her only thought was that she had gone into work early. She walked into the bath, stripped and got into the shower, only when she walked back out did she realized that Yvette's side of the bed was made. Luce dressed, went to the kitchen looking for a note or something to tell her where Yvette was, she found nothing. With a panicked feeling she picked up her cell phone and tried calling her partner. When she got directed to voice mail, she hung up and dialed Yvette's office.

"Hello?"

"Yvette it's me. Look ..."

"No Luce don't bother, I'm done with listening to your excuses."

"But ..."

"No. There is no 'but'. I tried telling you time and time again I can't do this anymore. You want to spend time with me but it has to be on your schedule. If I can't, you throw it back at me and it's my fault. I plan dinners for the two of us and you blow them and me off. I try to initiate intimacy between us and you either turn me down flat or you just go through the motions. It's been like that for months and I just can't do it anymore."

"What are you saying? Are you leaving?"

"Yes."

"No, don't I'll change, I'll work on things. I'll start spending more time with you and not work, I'll stop drinking."

"Luce you have to do all that because you want to, not because I want you to. Something happened to you after that accident. That's when you became cold and distant to me."

"Look, meet me for lunch we'll talk about it. Please?"

"I don't think there's anything left to say Luce."

"Please if you ever loved me, meet me."

"Damn it Luce! So help me you had better be there. Where do you want to meet?"

"Let's meet at that diner you like so much. I'll be there at noon, can you make it then?"

"Yes that shouldn't be a problem."

"Thank you. I ... I love you Yvette," Luce said before she hung up.

'God this is a bad idea.' Yvette said to herself.

Luce went to work, walked into her boss's office and asked for the rest of the day off. The man behind the desk knew Luce was in trouble and was more than willing to let her take the day off, he prayed this was the first step to her getting it together again, otherwise he saw her on the road to destruction.

Luce made it to the diner right at noon, she had stopped off at home and changed into her faded 501's and favorite black tee, her black boots finished off her attire along with corded necklace that sported a howling wolf medallion in silver. As soon as the dark-haired woman with mirrored sunglasses walked in she commanded attention. A couple of waitress rushed to be the first to reach the woman and seat her and were disappointed when one won out. Luce walked confidently to a table and sat waiting for Yvette. When Yvette walked in and spotted Luce she saw the smile that won her heart. She had to remind herself of where they were in this relationship; it wasn't that she didn't love Luce; it was that she couldn't and wouldn't feel as she had the last half year. Luce stood as Yvette approached the table and when the long-haired woman caught sight of the tight-fitting Levi's her heart flipped and her mouth watered. She loved seeing Luce in her Levi's and tee almost as much as her uniform.

"Hi, glad you could make it," Luce said as she waited for Yvette to slide into the booth.

"You had a long night didn't you?"

"Unfortunately, yeah I did. We had some surveillance to do; hopefully we can make the bust soon."

"I hope so. You need sleep, although I'm sure the drinking has a little to do with that too."

"Where are you staying if you leave?" Luce asked, ignoring the comment.

"I'll be with Susie and Dannie until I line up an apartment. And its not 'if' Luce; I am leaving."

"You're not even going to try to talk this out; you've already made the decision?"

"Luce, baby, I've tried talking to you about this. You never wanted to acknowledge anything I said."

"Okay well, I'm listening now. We can work this out."

"Luce, I don't think so. You've changed, you're not the same person you were a year ago."

"Yvette I've been through a lot in the last year, been a little busy ya know."

"This has nothing to do with how busy you've been. You've grown distant."

"Yvette, I'm under a lot of pressure lately."

"Yes but you use to turn to me and share that with me, we would find comfort in each others' arms. That's not there anymore. Any time I even try, it's like you turn into an iceberg, God, you have definitely earned the title of 'Ice Queen'."

"Oh come on, I'm not that bad."

"You know what, I can't do this. I'm sorry I agreed to meet you. I knew it was a mistake," Yvette said as she stood up to leave. Luce stood up as well and tossed a couple of dollars on the table for the waitress just as an apology for taking up space she could use for a paying customer who was eating. Luce followed Yvette out the door, "Let me at least walk you to your car."

"You don't have to," Yvette said as she looked straight ahead, unshed tears in her eyes.

Once they reached Yvette's car, Luce reached for her keys and unlocked her door, then opened it. As Yvette stepped to slide in she made the mistake of looking at the tan woman that held the door for her. Luce brought her hand up and brushed the single stray tear that Yvette couldn't control away with such tenderness and caring that the woman lost it. Luce took Yvette in her arms and held her whispering that everything would be alright, placed soft kisses on the top of her head and then moved to her ear, then soft kisses to her neck. Yvette, who had missed such tenderness from the woman responded and without thinking slid into the car and allowed Luce to follow her. Before she knew it the kisses became more passionate and demanding, not just from Luce but from herself as well. Luce started the car and with Yvette's blessing drove home, where they continued. Luce was again the confident and demanding lover that Yvette remembered. Once behind the door of their apartment Luce's hands undid the other woman's hair and wrapped her hand in her it. She pulled and tugged as her kisses became more forceful, her lips crushing Yvette's as her tongue pushed its way in. Yvette's hands pulled the tee shirt out of the waistband of the Levi's and worked their way up the strong back, her fingernails digging in. Before long Luce was grinding into Yvette and they were breathing fast and hard. Luce got a hold of her control long enough to move them to the sofa where she pushed Yvette down. Yvette's fingers were working on the buttons of the tight jeans while Luce crossed arms and reached for the hem of her tee shirt and yanked it off. The muscles of her toned stomach tightening then jumping as Yvette's tongue and lips made contact. Luce pulled Yvette's head into her as she let a deep groan of pleasure escape.

"Oh God, that feels good," Luce moaned. All too soon the strands of control that Luce had managed to gain were shattered and without a second thought she pushed Yvette down and with Yvette's skirt hiked up she pushed her hips between Yvette's thighs. Yvette's hips rose as Luce ground into her. The buttons of the Levi's, with each push rubbed against Yvette's hard throbbing clit and quickly pushed her over the edge, with her back arched into Luce she shook with the strength of her orgasm. Feeling Yvette's wetness soaking her jeans and hearing Yvette's climax, Luce let herself go as well. She reeled with the strength of her and Yvette's combined orgasm. She collapsed on Yvette, and with her arms around Luce, the two caught their breath. Luce regained her strength and stood up, with a smile she reached down and picked her lover up in her arms and carried her to the bedroom, where she kissed and teased Yvette slowly as she undressed her. With soft, sweet words and a gravelly voice that rocked Yvette to her core Luce gently brushed her fingers over Yvette's body. Each word Luce murmured rekindled the fire burning deep inside Yvette. Luce shed her clothes and as she whispered reached into her beside table and grabbed her favorite strap on. Yvette was letting her hands do some roaming as well and as soon as Luce had the strap securely on she pulled her down on the bed. With her mouth and teeth kissing and nipping at Luce's neck she worked her way over and was soon straddling her. Slowly Yvette slid the hard thick butch cock inside with a loud groan as it filled her. Luce, without thought, began thrusting up as the woman on top lowered herself; soon the two had a perfect rhythm. Going faster the two were soon panting as hands groped and sweat dripped. Yvette rocked and ground into Luce and Luce pushed harder going as deep as she could and soon the two were hurled back into another quaking orgasm, with wave after wave crashing into them.

After a while with their breathing back under control and brain function had returned. Feeling a little uncomfortable, Yvette got up and reached for her clothes. "Hey, where are you going?" Luce asked.

"I need to clean up; I have to get back to work. I should have been back an hour and a half ago."

"Ok, I'll take you back if you want, or I can catch a cab to go get my car."

"Would you mind doing that? Like I said I should have been back awhile ago," Yvette said from the bathroom.

"Not at all, I took the rest of the day off, should I get some steaks for dinner tonight?" Luce asked.

Yvette walked out of the bathroom buttoning her blouse. She looked at Luce and with tears in her eyes, said, "Luce this didn't change anything, I'm leaving. It has nothing to do with whether I love you or not but everything to do with self-preservation. I can not keep doing this with you, one minute you're here with me and you're fine; the next you're off in your own world and angry and cold as hell and you take it out on me."

"I said I'd work on that. It's not like I'm that way all the damn time."

"No? Note the tone you just used with me, think back on the last time you actually showed as much tenderness or emotion or actually followed through on making love to me."

"Yvette."

"I'll tell you when it was, it was the night of the promotion and awards ceremony. That accident and boy's death was not your fault and it sure as hell wasn't mine, yet you hold it against both of us and I can't take it anymore. Luce I'm sorry, but any more you just go through the motions and it's not enough. Bye Luce."

Before Luce could react Yvette had walked out of the bedroom grabbed her keys and was gone. For the first time in months, Luce broke down and cried. She finally actually felt something and unfortunately it was the feeling of her world crashing around her.

The End.
