For my wife, Jessica.
On a lazy evening
when my attention is
buried in a book
you come into our room
and without preamble
you fall into my arms.
Your head rests easily
in the crook of my arm.
The nearby lamp
brings an iridescent twinkle
to your gray eyes.
The corner of your lips
curve into a gentle smile.
A childish innocence
masks your beguiling features
before you lean up
To softly kiss me.
Your lips, so warm and tender
leaves a sweetness
upon my lips.
Then you leave,
without a word.
and I know
that I have truly fallen
under your spell
once more.
