Setting: This scroll was likely written sometime between "Maternal Instincts" and "Sacrifice".

Note to the Reader: The time of Solstice is probably dreaded in the temple of Dahak, so Hope would likely come up with a list of bardic songs to make up for the time of celebration and goodness.

Hope in a Manger
sung to
Away in a Manger

Away in a manger
not far from the knights,
the little baby Hope
saw her first pleasing sight.
Her mother was hugging her
with promises of love,
but that mean old Xena
snuck up carefully on the rug.
Thankfully mother saw her
and would not let it be.
Tough luck warrior princess
you get no hug from me.

Hope Looks Like Gabby, but Its a Trick
sung to
Up On the Rooftop

Outside Centaur lands Hope does pause
with Callisto by her side, always loyal to her cause.
Both are looking for a little boy.
Making him fall
will bring them joy.
~
Uh, oh, oh!
Should have drank that water slow!
Uh, oh, oh!
Permanently KO'ed!
Didn't think of poison and now I'm sick.
Dad will just rezz me and I'll be back real quick.
~
Gathering the followers is real fun.
Callisto's got my back, and Ares promises a son.
But before you know it, Xena has to return.
Down I go, and yes I burn.
~
Uh, oh, oh!
Lava sure does glow.
Uh, oh, oh!
Where did mother go?
Didn't think of Callisto's double-dealing trick.
Dad will just rezz me and I'll be back real quick.
~
Taking mother's village is my next plan.
but Xena showed up with that warrior man.
I tried to fool Xena but she's real smart.
I got stabbed in the shoulder.
Hey, that smarts!
~
Uh, oh, oh!
Just returned. Now its time to go!
Uh, oh, oh!
Its not easy being a demon you know!
I'll have a word with my son about that shoulder trick.
Still waiting for dad to rezz me real quick.
