You Said You Loved Me, But You Really Loved My Cat...

Day 10 of our relationship,
You turned and said you loved me.
Though I knew we were moving too fast,
I copied you my key.

You were here when I came home at night,
You made chicken with cous-cous.
You'd swept the floor, and washed my clothes,
and even fed my puss.

The cleaning was fantastic,
The cooking was divine.
And I really like the way you treated
my fluffy pet feline.

I said I had to go away,
You said, "Oh, what a pity.
When you go to your conference,
I will look after your kitty."

I returned a few days later,
to my small and humble flat.
I found all my belongings gone,
you even took my cat.

I really thought you loved me.
Although I'm a poor cabbie.
But now I really know the truth,
You only loved my tabby.
