~ In the Beginning... ~
by S. Anne Gardner
A cocoon….. its walls hard as steel and the sweetest of creatures is held prisoner within. Life, growing, finding strength each and everyday to set itself free. Courage and desire are but a spark. Dreams infiltrate, and their strength builds the need to emerge and be one with destiny. A light is seen and life that has been thriving begins to see the heavens. Wings, it feels as the wings begin to come forth and the cocoon no longer feels safe but rather constrains and suffocates. Wings…their growth is painful as it cuts threw flesh and bone…followed by desire to fly and soar. The moth begins to brake itself free…struggling… till one day the prison of the cocoon is opened by her and her wings spread out… the world. Her new found freedom beckons….and as she takes her first flight the lightness of the air fill her lungs….she glides and the world… the world patiently waits….the moth once but a mere possibility inside its cocoon finds that her wings have set her free and as she is now free she finally becomes what she was almost meant to be….from her come the finest of silk.
