I stand at the edge of the universe
Awaiting the judgement call.
Will her heart say "soulmates",
Or "friendship", after all?

And though my whole world trembles,
Poised, prepared to fall;
I recall the promise
Not to erect the wall.

Love comes in many dressings,
They do not look the same;
But it is always to be cherished
No matter what its name.

That I am even standing here,
With my heart not wild, but tame,
Stands in starkest contrast
To the place from whence I came.

So I bow to the judgement
Of the one I hold so dear;
Knowing that, regardless,
I'll always be right here.
