"Coming back to bed?" Sarah asks, her voice still filled with sleep.
I glance back towards her form lying on my bed... our bed from the balcony and see her. Long silky black hair and piercing blue eyes. My beautiful model. Laughing gently I can almost here my mother's voice in the back of my head telling me I've always been to possessive. Becoming lost in my own thoughts I think back to the first day I saw her...
~~~~~
I curse as I break for a run to my car 'I'm going to late for this meeting' I think as I side into the dark blue Mazda RX-7 convertible. 'Not that they'll be able to do anything about it. There are definite advantages to owning your own business, especially a successful one.' With a grin now on my face I pull out into the traffic and head towards my building on 7th street across from alen.
"Maybe I should get a driver, finally. I do hate driving in this mess..."
Pulling into the parking lot I stop a moment and take a deep breath before turning the mazda off and heading to the entrance.
"Miss Adams. You're late. Everyone's waiting for you."
Looking over I see my PA walking my way. Well... "They can just wait a little longer. I'm going to my office first and then I'll be with them." I put on my sweetest smile as I say it and then step onto the elevator, enjoying the look on his face as the elevator doors close.
Leaning against the back side I close my eyes and feel the elevator working it's way to the top floor. At the ding my eyes open and I walk straight for my office, nodding at my secretary just before closing the office's doors.
Sitting at my desk I look begin looking through the mail before tiring of it and throwing them aside. Wanting the people in the meeting to wait I turn on the television and gasp.
Before my eyes is the most gorgeous woman I'd ever seen. As the commercial goes off I blink a few times and with a quick shake of the head I finally turn to go to the meeting.
Smiling at my secretary as I head to the meeting room beside my office I tell her "I guess they've waited long enough."
With a smile of her own she replies "Definitely."
----------
All through the meeting my thoughts continue to focus around the woman on the TV. As the meeting ends I sigh with relief, everything still running pretty smoothly in the company.
Walking towards the elevator to head down to the marketing department my PA catches appears much to my disappointment 'I really need to get rid of him. I hate having him trying to follow my around every where.'
"What is it now?" I ask, becoming annoyed and letting it be known my voice.
Grinning at my annoyance Michael starts "You wanted to be reminded of your meeting with the pres. of.. well, your father at 1:00 today and also the dinner party you need to attend tonight at 7:30."
'Great' Another sigh "Call Susan, tell her I can't make the party. I'm not feeling well or something."
"You promised her two weeks ago you'd go to this one no matter what."
'Don't think I don't see that twinkle in your eyes. We'll talk Monday... and then you can start looking for a new job Tuesday' A grin of my own works its way onto my face and I nod to him "Okay."
As he turns to go "Michael?"
Turn around he responds "Yes?"
"I want to have a private meeting with you on Monday... around 8:00 am. Mark it on the calendar."
Smiling he nods "OK."
Smiling also I get onto the elevator, hitting the button for the sixth floor.
-----------
Already feeling tired after the fight with her father during lunch. 'I wish their was some way to get out of this party tonight. After all, all that was going to happen at the party was Susan introducing her to all these women, trying to set her up with ''Miss Right'' .'
Glancing down at my watch I shake my head slightly and jump in the Mazda and start driving. 'I still need to get something to wear.'
------------
Pulling up into the driveway of Susan Place, I step out of the vehicle and lets one of the parking attendants park it.
Smoothing out any wrinkles in my new suit I walk up to the entrance and ring the bell. Opening the door I see Susan. Then I feel her hugging me.
Letting me go she leads me into the huge dinning area "I'm so glad you made it. For awhile.. well, most of the day I didn't think you'd show up!" She states smiling at some of the people as we enter the room.
"Believe me." I say "If I could have found a way to get out of this I would have."
Grinning back at me Susan says "What's the matter with my parties? You always enjoyed a good party in college."
"One" I reply " That was a long time ago, but the main reason is number two. Where you try to set me up with every woman in the room who's not hanging on someone's arm."
"I'm just trying to help... which reminds me. There are a few new.. people here tonight I think you should meet."
"People meaning women right?"
Another grin "Yep." Susan says as she begins to drag me over to one group of people.
-------------
After two hours of meeting people I decide I need a break and head out onto one of the balconies. Leaning against the railing I start to loose myself in my own thoughts before I hear a voice behind me.
"Elina.." I hear Susan says "I have someone here I'd like you to meet."
Biting back a groan I take another drink of wine before turning around... and staring into those same eyes I saw on the television at my office earlier today. Looking her over in my semi shocked state I take in her 6' stance, her beautiful long coal black hair, and over all amazing figure.
"Hi." I say somewhat shakily.
A smile that makes my knees go weak and a deep slightly Irish voice that only adds to my standing problem as she replies "Hello."
I thank the gods when Susan steps in, saving me from having to control my voice and think of something to say.
"Elina, this is Sarah. She one of Karen's new models. Sarah, Elina owns one of the top publishing houses in South Carolina."
Smiling again Sarah leans over to shake my hand and says "It's a pleasure to meet you Elina."
My own smile becoming a permanent feature on my face I say "No, the pleasure's all mine." Kicking myself inside for having said something like that I realize that I'm blushing slightly which only seems to make me blush more. 'Gods, what am I doing?! At least it's night and she can't see me blushing!' I think as I continue to stare at her in that silky blue dress that, I noticed went well with her eyes.
I watch as Sarah walks over to lean near the balcony railing, hardly noticing Susan smiling brightly and heading back into the full room.
We stood in a comfortable silence for awhile. Finally getting up some nerve I turn towards her and ask "How long have you been a model?... why did you want to become one?"
Turning to face me also she starts to answer my questions which brings out more from me and some from her. After talking for what a few hours Susan comes back out on the balcony, informing us that the party ended a while ago.
Hardly noticing her again I nod and still staring at Sarah I ask her something I've never asked anyone, in all of my past dates, before. Feeling incredibly shy now I hesitantly whisper to her "Come home where me?"
With a small smile her lips gently brush across mine before moving up to nibble lightly on my ear. "Anywhere with you."
~~~~~~
'I can hardly believe that was three years ago' I think wistfully
"Love?" I hear Sarah again from the bed room.
Smiling and with a bob of my blond head I reply "Coming." As I all but run back to the bed and into her arms. 'Life can't get better then this' I think as sleep overcomes me.
The End
