I watch through blood shot eyes as blood drips from your beautiful blonde hair as we hang upside down trapped in crushed metal. The smell of gas and smoke fill my senses, but I don't care. You are hurt and it is my own fault. If I had been paying attention to my surroundings I would have seen it before it was too late.
"God I am so sorry. Please don't take this creature away from me. She didn't do anything to deserve this kind of end." I scream out but no one hears.
I try to move but my hands and legs are pinned from the dashboard and steering wheel. The pain is excruciating, but nothing like what my heart is going through. You are the love of my life and I would die ten thousand times before you should.
The light in your eyes gives the day meaning. The smile you give me when I walk into a room brightens all the dark spots on my heart. You give me so much.
"Hey lady are you okay?" I hear being yelled at me. I look out the shattered front window and see an old man standing there trying to figure a way to get to us.
"Look baby, help is here. Just hang on and we will soon be out of here." I whisper yet she still doesn't move.
A shooting pain rips through my head and I close my eyes. I try not to let the darkness that is calling me take me away. I want to stay here and feel all the pain that I deserve. I have seriously hurt the woman I love.
"It's not your fault." I heard clear as day from behind my closed eyelids. Afraid to open them I keep them closed. No way could she be talking that clear if she was in so much pain.
"Look inside your heart and know the truth. You couldn't have stopped that truck from hitting us. It was fated that this happen and I leave."
"No, you can't. You need to stay with me. I won't survive without you." I cry out.
"That's just it. You and I are to be together forever. I am not leaving you, we are going together."
"But I am still alive."
A soft hand caresses my cheek and I open my eyes to look into heavenly green.
"No, we are going together." She smiles at me with love.
The pain that held onto my body disappears and I am floating up to my love. I run my hands through her short golden hair. "Together."
We float up and I look back to see our car. It looks nothing like what it should.
"Don't look back. Only look forward and all will be well."
I turn to my angel and realize she is right as we continue to go towards heaven.
