That was truly a gem of a story. Loved it. If you are looking for adventure - read it. Thanks DJ - I've enjoyed everything you've written. So very talented !! - x/g fanfic fanatic - Aug-20-2010 I enjoyed this story. It was a well written satisfying read with some very new and interesting characters created by the author who went on to commercially publish them in a book called "An Amazons' Moon: A Tale of Syri, Athenian Mariner" sans Xena and Gabrielle. The Fast Ship is a story in which both Xena and Gabrielle are plucked from the sea by the captain of 'the fast ship', where the two were slowly dying as they drift along with no hope in sight as the sun beats down on them, literally burning them alive. After they recover from their rescue they're asked to join the captain and his assorted crew members on a mission to "right a wrong". Unable to say no as their lives are indebted to him, they experience a sea faring adventure with pirates and kidnappers that is an easy, pleasurable read, with little angst, but lots of battle sequences, displaying Xena's "many skills". However, there is lots of emotional reflection coming from Gabrielle who still feels guilty over Solon's death, but through a very alluring new character created by DJ, she finds strength in confronting her anguish and letting go. Enjoyable story. - kazy - Dec-06-2012 A really enjoyable story, made even more so by the characters this bard created. There is a sweetness between Xena and Gabrielle that is very compelling. - Anonymous - Sep-19-2017 |

I have never experienced a greater pleasure than working with the three of you on writing WOIA. This has been a true labor of love and hilarity, seeing how there were times that I was so overcome with laughter I could not see how to type. The joy that this story has brought to me can not be expressed. Yet the friendship writing together is unparallel. This is by far the best of Kim Baldwin's work. The action scenes are right out of the movies. I felt the tension as the leads waited out the dark night in the tornado's aftermath. But it was the tension between Erin and Gable that stayed with me for days after I read the story. The sexual tension kept me on pins and needles! It hit way to close to home! For anyone who has wondered if their "good friend" feels the same way they do... this story will bring back wonderful memories. Thanks Kim, - L. Karol - Aug 6th, 2004 I really enjoyed this story. I loved this awesome story and can not wait for book 2 thanks RangerLiz for sharing your talent with all of us - Kat - Sep 17th, 2004 I really enjoyed this book, It was just great!! I don't havemuch time to read but I made sure to make time for this one.I hope book 2 comes out soon. Thanks - Anonymous - Jan 18th, 2005 This was a fun and engaging story that kept my attention. It was the first of RangerLiz' work that I have read. The plot was interesting and I found the intricacies of the profession fascinating. That said, this needs a really good edit. I'm not sure if there is a reason for this based in how or what format it was originally written, but there were moments when I wondered if the author had taken long breaks between sections and never gone back again. The reference to Lt. Murphy didn't work for me because his introduction had been so fleeting that I hadn't noticed his name or the connection to Meradith. And for once, the author didn't backtrack. By backtrack, I mean that there were several times when she went over backstory and I actually said outloud to the screen "I was there when that happened. Weren't you?" There were other sections where there was a great deal of 'tell' and little 'show' - including Dianthe and Meredith's initial road to love. The span of time in the novel was long but the read was very quick before the first declaration of love. We were told that time had passed and they got to know each other, but we didn't see it. I'd suggest the author take some of the time that she spent detailing a character's bathroom and dressing ritual and spend it on character interacion. With a decent edit, this could really be a fantastic story and make a wonderful published novel. - roxy - Jan 19th, 2005 I really enjoyed this story and would love to see a continuation in book 2. I loved the way it started with Dinathe and her military life, and then went into Meredith in the Forrest. So many stories have the stoic tall dark UX back story somewhere in the middle. I had no problem with the timeline involving Meredith and Dinathe getting together because everything else was coming together as part of the main story. There were places where the back story was misplaced and I got confused in terms of present/past. There were just so many characters that I found myself going back several times when something signifcant happened. Overall, I loved the story and the subject matter. I had to wonder was the writer a pilot or a ranger, or both. Great read. Please complete book 2. - gayzer - Sep-04-2006 great story,!lots of action!! - ailidh - Dec-27-2009 This story is a page turner. Read it it's definitely worth your time. - Wheezie - Apr-13-2014 If you're a fan of strong characters, a plot that moves along at a decent pace and an engaging writing style, this one is a must read. Throw in the natural scenery and the fact that the two main characters are both very strong, likeable and intelligent women, Drango Cap is a very enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. - Stacia - Apr-14-2014 |

Intelligent and thought provoking debates between the two main characters and a beautifully developed romance. Even though Alex Tryst's political intentions are obvious, you don't have to know a lot about the election to enjoy the adventure of two women looking for their soulmates. This book makes you believe in the power of love, love of family, love of friends, and the kind of love only to be found in that special person. And the part about Dara's nephew, Justin, well, all I can say is that it takes a strong person to reveal their personal trials to the world. Thank you, Alex, for allowing us to look into your real life for a brief moment and letting us learn more about a disease that affects so many. I am a HUGH FAN of the Conqueror Stories. This series is one of the top five out there. I have read this one at least 7 times over the last few years and still I never tire of it. I would like to applaude (standing and clapping now) Planetsolin for finally finishing her series. It is a rare thing from some authors for sure. With that said, I must admit that Forever is my least favorite in the series. Maybe because I pictured it going one way with Xena getting to know Solan and waiting the birth of Gabby and Xena's child and it went in a completely different direction. I think if it was finished sometime around the time the originals were written it would have flowed much better with the series. Forever lost some steam IMHO and took on some of the original TV show. It just didn't have the same vibe as the original stories had. I did think the ending was endearing though. I still think that Planetsolin is still one of the best bards out there and I look forward to her future projects. - Jade - Dec 7th, 2004 A must read. - Anonymous - Apr-11-2008 the end of this series.. i'm unsure whether i like or dislike the ending.. it was unexpected so i applaud the bard for the surprise ending.. but still.. - xtra dog - Jun-14-2015 The end of a wonderful Conqueror story. This is really one of my favourites now and I really like how it ended, which was a sweet nod back to the original series. Really great and very well-written story, a must-read for sure if you like Conqueror stories. - Regina - Sep-03-2015 One of the best conqueror stories, it really captured a realistic and believable version of how Xena and Gabrielle’s relationship could have started and progressed when Gabrielle is not a slave and just a wondering bard. But the ending was so brutal my gosh but thankfully the epilogue fixes it. But still a great story. - Anonymous - Aug-09-2017 |

While my take on their sexual relationship begins much earlier than this, Lori weaves such an interesting back story as to why it took this long, that you're drawn into the motive, the accounting - so that it's no longer important when it took place, but why it did. She smoothly segues from this first time encounter to the finale, Friend in Need. As usual, Lori writes a good story. - kazy - Dec-09-2012 |

since i have a very chronologiacal mind, i like to read stories in chronological order.. i don't mind flash backs within a story, but i do have a problem with series that break the chronology.. it is, to me,like reading the end of a story and then return to the middle part.. the beginning is to set the mood, the middle is an elaboration and deepening of all mentioned before, and the end is the ultimate climax of a story.. whether i expected it or not.. however good or bad the ending, i need the beginning and the middle to feel involved.. when i read a series i expect it to follow the rules of beginning, middle and ending.. if not, i am truly disappointed and maybe even traumatized.. ;) so, if you are as chronologically impaired as i am when reading series, read this one before reading "all it took was you" after reading "how do you mend a broken heart".. 'cause this story is right between the two.. that said: i don't know who comes up with these story telling ideas first, but i've read a similar story before on this site.. and, although very well written, it leaves me with a sense of dissatisfaction.. i don't enjoy reading the same story all over again, even if it's written by different authors.. - xtra dog - Dec-16-2011 |

I find it funny and cute with a hint of spice. - Raven - Aug-22-2008 A great short story - a little funny, a little sweet and a little cutesy....worth reading! - CoolNik - May-04-2011 This story is kind of sweet, has a touch of emotions with a dose of hotness thrown in. Perhaps the hottest thing in this story is the author lets the reader fill in the blanks, after setting the stage. Nicely done! - Stacia - May-18-2013 |

As I remember there's another part to it. I would love to be able to access that last part. PLEEEAAASSSSSEE :) - Anonymous - Oct-18-2010 This is a great story. It would be wonderful if it was finished. What there is of it sucks you in. The same Cage as in Life's Little Edge, but Cage is the main character this time. More please! - Georgia - Apr-10-2012 Even though it is unfinished, this is a wonderful tale. It is nice to learn more about Cage and be introduced to new characters. - JT - May-07-2017 |

Now this is a hidden little gem. The story is basically about a scribe stuck with a dead Gabby in her head. Why? Well, that would be telling but on top of that she also has to deal with weird little old ladies, hyperactive houses, curious War Gods and a very unhappy suspicious Warrior Princess. Overall there's lots to enjoy in this rather unusual and imaginative Xena fic. I found Miriam the scribe quite likable and could sympathize with the problems that can only come from having a dead Gabby in your head. Most definitely worth reading! - Uzu - May-08-2007 This was such an inventive and original story. It also had very powerful deep sadness to Xena's loss of Gabrielle that was very effective and moving. I loved the author's creative ingenuity in using Baba Yaga in her story. This is a top rated story that you can read over and over again. It's definitely a Xena classic worth keeping for postertiy. - kazy - Feb-13-2012 Witty, eloquent and remarkably original! Well done! - Anonymous - Apr-05-2012 |

Nothing Special is definitely something special. - ann o'nymous - Apr-30-2011 This was anything but 'nothing special'. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I think you should continue with a sequel. I absolutely adored the characters. - Anonymous - May-08-2011 I just about fell in love with this story. Never before had I encounter something so complete, beautifull and funny.
