Shay just had a bad dating experience, and shes frustrated about finding anyone whod be willing to meet her 'not looking for anything too serious right now' requirement. Thinking that it's probably best that she just continue with her 'single gal' vibe, she focuses on her neighbor's impending dinner party. Maybe she'll meet some prospects. But then again, maybe her prospects arent as distant as the thinks. | |
Nicely written short story about the moment when a friendship teeters on the edge of becoming something else. As always with Andi, the editing leaves nothing to trip over, and I enjoyed the spark-to-fire metaphor. Also, I am now craving taquitos and fresh guacamole. - Fletcher DeLancey - Mar-08-2010 Extremely well written. - Anonymous - Mar-14-2010 Yummy! - Anonymous - Mar-30-2010 Esa comida mejicana!! loved the story & the food!! both hot and spicy!! - Rouge - Jun-14-2010 Slow burning story. I liked how the two women connected. It was like a slow dance. Nice read. - Lyn B - Mar-31-2011 A new working link http://andimarquette.com/stories/freebie-stories/dinner-party/ - Anonymous - May-24-2011 Great story! F'ing awesome story! This is definitely one of the best stories I've read! - Anonymous - Sep-02-2009 What a great story! Well written and fun. Well done! - juliemania - Sep-06-2009 Very romantic, well written. Sigh. Having come in today from a long holiday weekend drive, I can relate to making up stories about people you see, but I didn't see anyone who looked like Washington. - Anonymous - Sep-08-2009 Really well put together, nice pace, very sweet and fanciful. This one is a little heartwarmer. - Sai - Sep-10-2009 The author strokes a sentence the way you stroke a lover, all warm milk and honey. This is a delicious read. - wasabigrrl - Sep-11-2009 broken links - Anonymous - Dec-04-2016 |
