Blue Fire by C. E. Gray
Original / Uber | Pre-1900 | Alternative | Romance (alt) | Novel - 150 pages | Finished | Apr-02
Cast: Alicia, Indian, Apache, Robyn
Honors/Awards:  Perennial Favorite Award: #20 in 2002, #65 in 2003, #94 in 2006
In the year 1868, a time known for most Americans' fierce prejudices against all people not of the same heritage, a circumstance of pure chance brings a white woman and an Indian woman together. She is called Blue Fire; an apache warrior destined to somehow make a difference for her tribe. Everything tells her not to trust the white that has taken her in, and yet her heart gives her no other choice. Often torn between the ways of the white man and the ways of her ancestors, she struggles to satisfy both the calling of her soul and the calling of her people. A strong warrior, stubborn and proud, loyal to those she deems friends, nothing but danger to those who would dare cross herąthis is her story.
Romantic, thrilling, dramatic and dern good. Blue Fire is sexy and perfectly set in the past as a western thriller. I liked the characters and the pace. I liked the cowboy versus Indian flare and the Indian versus Indian issues. It's a really great read. - JLNicky - Jul 16th, 2005

This is a well written story, crossing cultures and taking us back to a different time. The references to nature, cultures, and languages are well thought out, and are incorperated smoothly into the story. I'd like to see Robyn take Alicia back to her tribe, and see things from Alicias' point of view.I truly ejoyed reading this story and hope there is a sequel ! - Kelly - Feb 6th, 2006

In C.E. Grays' beautifully written account of growing up and finding you are different, AJ and her twin brother Bastiaan lead an idyllic life in a Montana ranch...or do they? As their 18th birthday approaches, AJ, who is dyslexic and whose entire world is the farm and the open spaces she will soon inherit, learns a secret about her twin brother about to go off to college. Simultaneously, new neighbors move into the nearby farm and she makes a new friend by taking the small green-eyed redhead home after being lost almost a day. That begins a friendship that threatens the world the tall lanky dark-haired youth has known...and makes her question who she is and where home really is. This is a great coming-of-age tale.
Very Good Story. I enjoyed it. Characters are brooding teens and full of angst as normal. A large amount of descriptive material about the land, horses, and ranch. Nicely done. - JLNicky - Jul 16th, 2005

In this Uber, two friends, Samantha Martin and McKayla Farr, are slow to discover just what their friendship is about, as the widowed Sam helps Kayla see the light about her marriage and what is important in life.
A wonderful tale! It kept me reading half the night! (and most of the morning.. now it's over.. sniff..whimper..) Excellant development of most interesting and lovable characters! I'd like to travel with them again sometime. Great attention to detail! I wanted it to be one of those stories that just keep going. I know, it was fairly long as stories go, but, I was hoping for the novella. Ok, the kingsized, mondo e mondo, extracurricular, energizer bunny, expanded version of the novella. Hint! Hint! Yes, please write the sequel.. Pssst... What happened to the... Oh, I guess that would be a spoiler, can't write that.(heh) I look forward to seeing more of your work soon!
