Fantastic sequel! - Anonymous - Sep-20-2010 This is a great sequel to the tale "Dregs of Summer". Cephalgia writes a good sweet story of enduring love. Crystal O'Brien and her son become the subjects of nurse Lauren Cook's Master's thesis. The boy's serious heart defect is the subject, but it just might be Crystal's heart that is affected in the end. | |
Excellent! I was so crushed that it was over. Great story, moving characters and one red hot love scene. More..more..more.. - Califa - Jul 30th, 2004 Great story. I really hope that you write a sequel! - fan - Aug 4th, 2004 I have to say this is truly an endering story. Really opens your eyes to the everyday challenges of loving and caring for a child with a life threatening illness. The development of the relationship between Crystal and Lauren moved along at a pace that was realistic and didn't feel rushed and phoney, as they so often can in a short story. I had many a chuckle over the comments to the cat "Ram" and the humour has just the right flavour throughout! Thankfully there was not TOO much "inner monologue" that often takes away from the main body of the story. The story's perspective, written from the kids point of view, speaks volumes about how the author relates to kids. Over all a GREAT story and an eye opening subject, also perfectly paced for a really enjoyable read. This one is not to be missed. I'm just crossing my fingers that there will be a sequel. ;) - Skeeter - Aug 4th, 2004 I've read this author's other works and while those are good, this is GREAT! She doesn't rush the plot and allows the readers and the characters to slowly and irrevocably fall in love. - Ursula - Dec-20-2007 Beautiful well written story that definately needs a sequel! - Xenangabfan - Mar-16-2008 Hidden gem - Brighteyez08 - Oct-08-2009 Very touching and well written - JettBlk - Feb-14-2010 Great to read not too long, falling for the straight girl..ready made family. - readinglori - Oct-31-2010 Wow! This story deals with a pretty tough subject, I was afraid it might be hard to read. But this Bard managed to tell a story that talks courage. I admire, respect highly courage. The ending was fabuous. It made me cry actually. It wasn't sad. It was just pawerfull in it's own way and deeply beautiful. - yuka - Dec-21-2010 Well written story.I've never read about a single mother with a child who has heart problems.Interesting insight, great love story. - Pat - Jan-01-2011 Love this story. Would love to read more about them! - LadyKnight - Apr-19-2011 Very touching story, you could feel real love between characters. Great read. - Anonymous - Jun-11-2011 Excellent well written story. If you've ever completely lost yourself to someone who couldn't return your love, you're going to think Cephalgia has seen inside your heart. This triumphant tale is well-written, and packed with the emotional detail usually found only in longer, character-rich stories. Great job. - KG MacGregor - Jul 21st, 2003 Wow. Really moving. Definitely worth a read. - Anonymous - Jan 14th, 2004 Very well written. Bittersweet. It's not romantic, but it's poignant and thought provoking. - Lyn B - Jul-26-2011 never having been on the seawall myself, but having lost my best friend who went swimming with eliza, this story really did hit home.. it is a very solemnly written without any embelishings, exactly what the story needed.. praise to the author.. - xtra dog - Jan-18-2012 |

I liked this sequel. It was thought provoking, poignant and hopeful. The story is very well written. I'd like to have read more about Cass and Abra too:-) A good read. - Lyn B - Jul-26-2011 the mid-west translations were funny.. the rest of the story was just brilliant.. i kept getting the feeling the author wanted to state that some things in life were supposed to happen, just to prepare you for the rest of your journey.. - xtra dog - Jan-18-2012 |

This is a wonderful story. It is a bit different from the author's other work but is very nicely done. It has humor, heartbreak and a special guest star, God. And she is a hoot. - jh - Sep 7th, 2005 Stop what you're doing and read this story immediately! It is a terrific read. I liked it a lot. - Peg - Sep 7th, 2005 Cephalgia writes a humerous, heartwarming and thought provoking piece in this one. Run, do not walk, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00 to read this story.
