An unusual Conqueror tale...
I've read nearly every Conqueror out there and this one is 'the' best. It's not like all the rest which was refreshing to read. Thanks to the bards who wrote it. - Anonymous - Jan 27th, 2003

The is a wickly killer story! Had me from beginning to end!Diane - diane - Jan 27th, 2003

I really enjoyed the twist in this Conqueror story..Having Gabrielle be the conqueror and having Xena trying to get through to her was fabulous,It makes me wish that TPTB had come up with this idea for an episode..it would have rocked! Keep up the good work Bards.. ;) - jbamazon - Jan 29th, 2003

This was one wild read. Have Gabrielle being the Conqueror and Xena trying to find a way to bring her back? Wow. It's nice to have many familiar faces in this story too. Read it and couldn't stop until now 1am. Should put spoiler saying you'll not stop reading until finished. - jeni - Jan 31st, 2003

This is one of the absolute best of the Conqueror stories that I've read. The freshness comes from Gabrielle being the conqueror in charge. Watching her do everything that Xena did in her conquering days, but doing them better, well, that just proves once again that thinking before acting, gets you more :) Seeing all of the familiar faces of the Xenaverse pop up, brought a wave of nostalgia through me while reading this tale. I highly recommend this story! - Di Bauden - Feb 1st, 2003

My disliking for Conqueror's was great. Same ole same ole. Until a friend said I should read this one. Totally different in many ways. Even though Gabrielle was the Conqueror it still felt like the bard and it was nice to see Xena more human. Very good and I highly recommend this story. - Kathy - Feb 3rd, 2003

It took me a few days to complete this story. I must say it's original in several ways. It had me going 'oh my' in many areas. For instance, when the battle was over and you expect the cliche-ish 'battle lust' it was refreshing to see Gabrielle reading poetry and looking into the night air. This was addictive to read. One thing that was lacking I felt was the ending. That was not in sync with the rest of the tale, but I still recommend this story very much. Calli's cover was outstanding.C.B. - Carrie - Feb 4th, 2003

Best kick a** Conqueror! - KT - Feb 8th, 2003

Was looking at the top 25 and this caught my eye too. The story had me from start to end on one powerful ride. Even though it was in a different verse, it still felt like Gabrielle and Xena and was interesting to see roles reversed and how they both handled it. Great story and will read again and again. This is one to save to your harddrive. - Jenny - Feb 12th, 2003

All I can say is! "Awesome!" - GabBard - Feb 13th, 2003

This story blew my mind!! - Xena - Apr 18th, 2003

This is one of the best Conqueror story's I've ever read. - Candy - Jan 5th, 2004

This was praised to death so I had to see what all the hubbub was about. This was very good, I liked the idea of Gabrielle being strong, the lead and this time around Xena had to be the one standing in the background. The only thing I had a hard time with was the ending, But otherwise it was a very good tale I followed all the way to the ending. - Anonymous - Jan 7th, 2004

I'll usually pass on a conqueror story, but I love CN's writing and gave this a try. To my surprise this was very good and I read it from end to end. - Anonymous - Jan 13th, 2004
