loved the idea behind the story.. just find the build up lacking.. this story would have been so much better if it weren't just stripped to the bare essentials.. - xtra dog - Nov-08-2011

Great Story. Could have even been longer. I actually wish that it was. But I loved it. - Candy - Jul-14-2009

Absolutely beautiful! - Archer - Aug-16-2009

This is my favorite conqueror story that casts Gabrielle as the Queen of the Amazons, never having been a slave. I also suggest reading, Soul Searching, by T. Novan and Resistance, by Della Street. They are both great stories that feature Gabrielle as a free citizen. - Dep - Sep-26-2009

This story was one of my favorite conqueror stories. A strong, intelligent, insightful Gabrielle who helped Xena become the woman she was meant to be. Read it. - Anonymous - Jul-03-2010

Loved to read it. A great story. - Nadia Gray - Aug-12-2010

good story.. my only point of criticism is: there are no possibilities left for a sequel.. bummer!! i really enjoyed reading this story.. - xtra dog - Nov-01-2011

very nice story highly recommended - cosmic - Dec-28-2011

Great story. I liked the length; interesting how all the various characters were interwoven; all kind of different elements in play. Well worth your time to read! - Georgia - Sep-06-2013

Fantastic conqueror story! I'm not a huge fan of conqueror stories, but this take on the conqueror brings out the qualities we all love about Xena - her strength, devotion to Gab and her butt kicking abilities. I love stories where Gab is strong, compassionate, kick-butt and loving and this one really delivers. A must read for XWP fans!! - Stacia - Mar-05-2014

That was a really good story if you don't get hung up on the few grammar issues. The characterization of Xena and Gabrielle was very good and the story had a good plot line. So I highly recommend taking the time to read this tale. - ubergoober - Sep-02-2015

I loved this story. It had so many familiar faces and one liners from the show. A Great read kept me entertained for hours - Nancy G. - Oct-31-2015

A very short story about Lois and Ernie. They're first meeting doesn't go as well as they had hoped. Maybe a day trip into the mountains will bring them closer. . . or maybe not.

Awesome, will there be a sequel? - Lumor - Oct-27-2009

Just finished the story. I don't normally recommend stories, but this one SCREAMED for comment. With all the attention now being given to the supernatural, I see a series here that could have a LONG life. PLEASE continue the series. Better yet, continue the series in print. Thank you for one of the most enjoyable readings Ive had in a long time. LONG LIVE TONI & CAM!!!! - GMD - Nov-14-2010

Love the story but it cries for a sequel! I would love to see the continuing tales of Cam and Toni. - royuki - Aug-15-2011

again i find the idea behind the story very appealing.. but i do miss the build up.. the story should be longer, have deeper characterization,.. and it certainly shouldn't stop with a cliff hanger if there were never any intention of a sequel.. 10 for the idea, but far less for the actual story.. - xtra dog - Nov-08-2011

What a fantastic story! Definitely worth a read. Loved the interaction between Toni and Cam. Even though it has been a few years since this one was written, I really hope a sequel is in the works. - Stacia - Sep-28-2012

This is a very fun and romantic tale with some very interesting twists. Sequels would be very nice ... :)
- Georgia - Sep-07-2013

That was a really cool story. I enjoyed it very much and highly recommend reading it. It was definitely good enough to warrant a sequel, please. - ubergoober - Sep-04-2015

This has to the love at first sight stories I have read. The character are great. Can't wait till book 2 - Lisa - Jan-08-2007

I must say this is a fantastic read. Loved it! Thanks for writing a great story Zollicoffer. Can't wait to see where this goes. - Anonymous - Aug-07-2007

I enjoyed this story and I'm settling down to read part 2. Loved that the characters resemble our two favorite warriors to a T (always reels me in!). Really enjoyed the intimate dialog between the two characters (which this author is very good at) but believe a couple sex scenes could have been left out and a bit more out of bed scenes added to give the characters, their families and friends a bit more depth. Also a lot of misspelled words that the eye had to stumble over. - Anonymous - Nov-21-2007

This story and it's sequel have earned a place ion my bookshelf. The power the love between this couple generates shows there can still magic in the world. I look forward to book 3 (hint, hint) and the trials of developing their town.
Great story. - nljacksn - Feb-18-2008

Reawakening (The) by J. A. Zollicoffer
Original / Uber | Futuristic | Alternative | Drama | Novel - 269 pages | Finished | May-11
Cast: Troi, Keller, Pip, Barrett
The world has changed, and new ways of living had to be found. This story takes place in a post apocalyptic world where the citizens had to start over and carve out a fresh existence, much like the pioneers had to do. Troi Donner is a sentry for her village, and Keller Morgan is a recent escapee from hers. When their paths cross it is the catalyst that is necessary to reveal long hidden truths.
Some very original ideas in a post apocalypse novel. I enjoyed it very much. - wasabigrrl - May-27-2011

I don't think I have ever read a fantasy future like this. Dr Seuss probably would have like the talking animals. Thanks for an interesting story. - SHK51 - May-29-2011

Post apocolyptic life, most definitely leaves room for strife. Humans learning from their mistakes, how many lessons will it take? Excellent! - ~M - Jul-04-2011

this story gives a whole new meaning to monkey talk.. i loved naomi and her antics.. nice read.. - xtra dog - Nov-10-2011

Great story, wish it had a sequel! - Lyn5289 - Feb-15-2012

This is one of my favorite stories. It is unusual, but in a good way. The writer has mixed romance, adventure and fantasy in a way that, by the time you reach the end of the story everything you thought you knew has been turned upside down, making you wonder about your own reality. Its a very different type of post-apocalyptic story.
- Anonymous - Sep-09-2012

JAZ has created a character that can only speak in rhymes. Sams part wasnt huge, but when he showed up it was sweet. I loved this journey. Sequel please!!
- Anonymous - Sep-20-2012

Sands of Change by J. A. Zollicoffer
Original / Uber | Modern | Alternative | Drama | Novel - 157 pages | Finished | Aug-12
I really enjoyed this story. Shannon Reynolds is a social worker that grew up in an abusive household. After a particularly bad beating social services removes the fourteen year old girl and her eight year old brother from the home. They are put into a foster home where they thrive until the death of their elderly foster parents. Then they are sent to a group home where Shannon can stay until her eighteenth birthday.

Morgan McCray is rookie State Police officer that has tried for most of her life to separate herself from the criminal that raised her. She is on patrol with her training officer one night when a call comes in that a girl has taken her younger brother from a group home.

When the siblings are spotted running near the beach Morgan takes chase on foot. When she catches up with the exhausted girl she is stunned when she is asked for help. Right there in the sand of a dark deserted beach a journey of discovery begins for the young women.

I highly recommend this one, and hope that JAZ will write a sequel!

This is such a good story...the characters are great. It was nice to see that people out there do care for the less fortunate. - Tracey - Oct-23-2010

this was a well thought-out story. it kept me on the edge of my seat. the main characters of Quinn and Taylor's growing love was convincing. Buddy and Doris were very good characters and their poignant decisions regarding their lives were very believable. the story depicts well the lives of the less fortunate and their struggle for survival. the one that stole my heart was lovable otis, Quinn's loyal canine sidekick. i strongly recommend this story and praise JAZ for giving us a glimpse into homelessness. - vicam - Oct-24-2010
