This is an engaging adventure/romance tale, skillfully told by J Falconer. Sunstar, a forest elf princess, is captured by a marauding band of bloodthirsty dark elves. Sunstar's only hope lies with Nightshade a Dark Elf who's is assigned to convey the forest elf to the dark elves city; a place of unspeakable horrors. This short novella combines magic, and danger as two very different people fight for survival against forces that would see them both destroyed. The story continues in the sequel: Forest Elf.
I really liked this story. especially nightshade, she was that gentle tortured soul i always love to read about. I love the different physical/cultural dynamics and I am going to sound like a geek here but the evolution of a species is extremely interesting especially when there is some truth to it. For example: J. Falconer dark elf species have different types of eyes one in particular happened to be blue. According to Duke Health, light color eyes, like the color blue, are light sensitive and in some cases cause photophobia which is difficulty seeing in bright light or blindness in light. But I don't want to say to much so I'll leave you hanging as to why that is an important fact. I adore how this author wrote about the characters emotions developing not only romantically but morally. I don't think I'm doing this story justice just know that it was a great read and I look forward to reading the 2nd installment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - Katie of Ohio - Feb-28-2013 Good story.
