I have to admit, I didn't finish reading this, yet. I got through the first few paragraphs and couldn't get past the nagging feeling I'd read something eerily similar to this and was ready to contact the author to let her know someone stole her work. But... Turns out I oopsed. I was right about reading a similar story. It's called Playing with Fuego and is written by none other than K G Macgregor. I guess she turned this short into a full novel. Go check it out! :) - Oops? - Aug-07-2014

a witty and "feeling-good" story. with a humorous twist, this tale dwells on the pitfalls of meeting people through a "match maker agency". O-MA-GAWD. I started reading this and got a kidney stone and still wanted to read. Okay the pain kept me from it. But my mind was wrapped up in the drama. (ok in unison-"freak!") This the first story I have read by KG MacGregor and I am very impressed with the GOOD, HIGH QUALITY, SUBTLE writing and storytelling. My favorite part is the little chapter end comments. RUH ROO is right! I will check in again after I have read every story posted. I highly recommend this authors work. - nicky in durham - Aug 25th, 2003

House on Sandstone (The) by KG MacGregor
Original / Uber | Modern | Alternative | Romance (alt) | Novel - 212 pages | Finished | Mar-04
Cast: Justine, Carly, Leland, Valerie, Nadine, Jon, Griffin, Trey
Honors/Awards:  #51 in 2004
Carly Griffin is home for a visit with her folks after years of being away from the home town where she never thought she had a future. Years of living overseas have certainly changed her views of the town, which is surprising to her to say the least. But not as surprising as meeting up with Justine Hall, who might just be what Carly never thought she was looking for.
Justine and Carly are two extremely true to life characters. KG managed to write about life the way life is - ups, down, fears and those little bursts of courage, and still found a happy ending for these two great women.Wonderfully written story. - Nyc - Mar 31st, 2004

Verry verry good, great plot, decent amount of romance and intrigue. - Reeza - Aug-10-2006

KG does a great job with this story - Believable characters, realistic plot, and a great read. - Anonymous - Apr-06-2007

Nobody does it better than KG! This Bard knows how to tell a story. She's the best! - Anonymous - Aug-24-2007

i loved this wonderful story!! Although young and much less experienced it really appealed to me in its beauty, sincerity and that tangible optimistic realism that can be sooo catchy. way to go, KG! - Kat - Sep-02-2007

Another KG masterpiece! - offhermeds - Oct-29-2008

As always, KG MacGregor's characters are radiantly lovable, while beeing no "Mary Sue", having flaws, beeing humans, having social and personal problems like everybody, in short : credible.
As usual again, the whole is well written, without overlong passages but without frustration, chapters following on naturally.
The story will cheer up all those who live in small provincial towns and have issues to get out of the closet, whatever country they come from.

- Anonymous - Nov-23-2009

Loved it! So many times I wanted to kick Justine! Carly is just awesome! Wonderful story about the struggle to realize that you already met the love of your life but let the chance for an amazing life get out of your reach. Thanks for sharing your work. - Darx - Jan-03-2010

Another great work from this author. Portraying (am I inventing this word?)the difficulties of getting out of the closet in a small community. - Rouge - Sep-13-2010

This one hit really close to home. I lived in a town just like this 22 years ago, in the same state even. I've been back once, I wish things changed. - ~M - Jun-20-2011

I really like this story and these characters. Everything seems very plausible; characters and their relationships, story line. Well worth your time to read. - Georgia - Aug-10-2013

God this story hits a nerve in the reality department. Lovely story and great characters. So great and realistic that you just want to shake some sense into them early on, well one in particular anyways. It has a bunch of twists and turns and the ending, well I'm still smiling. Recommended. - Katie of Ohio - Aug-15-2013

I Never Knew by KG MacGregor

Before I actually let you all know how wonderfully written this Mel and Janice story is, I would like to point out that this bard is actually KG MacGregor not KC MacGregor. This is the same KG MacGregor that gave us the fantastic Alternative Uber stories Shaken the sequal Stirred and part 3 Strained. These are some of the best written fan fiction stories on the internet bar none. I would recommend this bard for whatever story she wishes to grace our Universe with, but I hope the little name typo can get fixed so that people will know that Ms. MacGregor has other great stories for everyone to sink their teeth into. I would read the phone book if KG MacGregor was the author of it. I give this Bard and all of her incredibly well written stories a 10 star rating! - Maria - Dec 2nd, 2002

Really loved this new Mel and Janice story - ALOT! KG nailed the characterizations, and there was a terrific slant to this story which I don't recall being brought up in other M/J FF. And who can fault a story with Amazons in it? KG showing her stuff quite well outside of the Uber world, and I welcome the momentary change. Great job! - Anonymous - Dec 3rd, 2002

Well, after reading this J&M fanfiction, I certainly had to throw my two cents of comments into the pile. I ain't read a J&M fanfiction in a few nor really seen any. MacGregor weaves an awesome plot and manages to throw some Amazons into it all. She also brought up a huge social standard issue during the 1940's that you don't see in many J&M fanfictions. Needless to say, this J&M story hit my favorite list! Excellent fanfiction. - Red Hope - Jul 3rd, 2003

Loved this story! Wow... well written, ties right into the episode and just picks up where it left off... would love to see KG do more with this! - AmazonBard07 - Mar-09-2007

I don't normally read Janice and Mel stories, but when I ran out of KG stories to read I decided to give this one a shot. I'm glad I did - Read it - Anonymous - Apr-10-2007

After reading this there was only one world in my head... WOW! The character are full well wriiten and the plotline just amazing! This is a story all come back and read again and again! - Ami - Apr-30-2008

not a fan of mel and janice stories, i have read this one with interest.. the characters are true to form, so that's a definite plus for mel and janice lovers.. also liked the linking of the amazons to the amazon.. :) - xtra dog - Jun-19-2011

Cute. But very true to the characters of Mel and Janice. Quite a delightful read, with a very interesting revelation. Definitely worth your time. - Georgia - Aug-11-2013

Malicious Pursuit by KG MacGregor
Original / Uber | Modern | Alternative (Mature) | Mystery | Novel - 174 pages | Finished | Aug-03
Cast: Ruth, Spencer, Jessie, Skip, Elena, Drummond, Margadon
This is a nice little thriller that will have you glued to your seat! KG has come up with another winner, where two strangers' lives intersect and literally save each other from the wrong doings that have been set to thwart them. Of course, along the way, green-eyed Ruth and tall dark and spunky Spencer develop feelings for each other...but will they act upon them? You'll have to see!
I enjoy anything that KG writes. I found this to be a bit different from her others. While there was tension at times in her other stories, this one kept me on the edge of my chair at times (and I still have the short finger nails to prove it!) It was a good read, and as the author predicted, I couldn't stop until the end. Well worth the time. - Prof - Aug 20th, 2003

Kg Mcgregor is a great author. I read Road from Kilimanjaro and Shaken and I loved those stories. Malicious Pursuit is equal parts action, adventure and, yes, thriller. lol. OUT OF 10 I GIVE IT A 10. - Katia N. Ruiz - Aug 21st, 2003

Malicious Pursuit is fabulous!!! Tension, romance, intrigue, mystery, compassion, tenderness, friendship, love...all the good stuff we crave in our Ubers. I've been a KG fan since the Shaken-Stirred series, and Malicious Pursuit is definitely another jewel in her crown!!! Great job, KG!!! - Michelle - Aug 21st, 2003

This story is just awesome!!! The suspense!! I was actually sweating while reading the last two parts. Take the time to read this, you won't be disappointed. - brave - Aug 21st, 2003

The unfolding time line and stories where paced out well. I was pleased that the story wasn't forced into a direction before it was ready. This author has a good sense of pacing and letting the story come alive on its own. KG Macgregor has a flair for natural dialogue. And she is good with humor. I keep wondering if this will appear on the big screen? Do you do this for a living KG or is this a really well developed hobby? Either way I'm glad I found your work. CHEERS - nicky in durham - Aug 28th, 2003

This author has an excellent way of making you feel a part of the story. The story has a good pace, the characters and dialogue are believable. The ending was surprising. I am always overjoyed to find an author I can read as soon as the story is posted. I don't have to check for the review to know the quality. Worth the time spent reading. - samson - Oct 4th, 2003

This is an excellent story. I thought it started a little slow for my taste, but once the action picked up, I couldn't put it down. Thanks for a great read, as usual, KG. - Summer Sun - Oct 7th, 2003

KG is one of my all time fav's. She never disappoints, and as promised, I couldn't put it down until I was finished. KG, you're awesome. Keep them coming and I'll keep reading. Read this one people, and you'll see what I mean - this woman doesn't disappoint. - Maria - Jan 7th, 2005

I read this story for the first time about a year ago and neglected to leave a comment. I'm not in the habit of reading a story more than once, but I felt a pull towards a good adventure. Thank goodness I gave it another look. There's a lot I missed from my first venture. This story plays like a movie script. The author doesn't miss a beat!! Brava! - jac - Feb 6th, 2005

Loved this story. Touching, gripping and well-written. I cared about the characters and never stopped wanting to know what happened next. The writing oozes a confidence that allows the reader to relax and trust the author to take you on a great ride. Enjoy! - 2m - May-16-2007

what a Wonderful story! i always love KG's portrayal of reality, it's so ... human, alive, dynamic. this author loves life and understands emotions. i've read this one before and still this time the suspense was so good i gnawed off half of my nails, again! the thing is, this story really DOES have everything - it's just perfect. thank you :) - Kat - Sep-05-2007

Suspenseful, intriguing, and yes a thriller just like you set out to do KG. This was another creative marvel by an outstanding bard!! - toni - May-05-2008

wonderful! KG has a great ear for dialog. And yes, this is definitely a thriller. - offhermeds - Oct-28-2008

Awesome!! Great plot, full of excitement...I have not moved since I started reading it...well except to get a glass of wine. This story would be brilliant even without the romance. Thank you for writing it. x x x - nexakill - Oct-31-2008

Solid story. Good suspense romance. - Anonymous - Nov-11-2008

I couldn't wait to buy this in paperback! Nothing suits better than a real honest to God book in my hands when I'm laying in the hammock. Gee, I guess that's how I feel about all MacGregor's books since I own them all. Give yourself a huge treat and buy her books. They are slightly different in print than on-line. Not to mention she deserves a monetary reward for giving me such high quality entertainment - cheaper than a popcorn and ticket to the movies, too! Dang woman, I love your work! - Robin - Anonymous - Mar-01-2010

awesome....read it you will enjoy.. - vampireslayer2 - May-15-2010

good thriller.. bit shallow in the romantic department.. so calling it a thriller, even against the wishes of the author, does not make me feel guilty.. - Anonymous - May-28-2011

One of the best thrillers I've ever read on Athenaeaum. Riveting action, suspense, drama, romance, and a very desperate situation all are woven into this wonderfully written story by a very versatile author.

SPOILER ALERT: It would've been even better if Ruth's POV was explored in more detail near the end of the story (as it was in the beginning and middle), as hers was the more desperate situation. And PWP lovers will be up in arms at the ending. - OMG - Jul-10-2011

MULLIGAN and its sequel are fantastic. KG's stories are crisp, clean and fun to read! "Aces!" - I.M. - May 18th, 2003

Mulligan, plus the three sequels to same, are all good reads. Lou and Marty are two characters, that once meet in the first story, will have you wanting to know what further unfolds for them in the three sequel stories. A series that is easy to recommend to 'you' to read, one that you will be glad that you have. - affr - Jul 28th, 2003

The five stories in the Mulligan series are all very charming - not to mention well-written. Romantics should definitely read these stories!

I love this series. I am so happy for stories about women in love over 50. It shows that love transcends age - thank you. Let's have more stories for the over 50 ladies - Traveller - Mar-15-2010

Series List: Mulligan, Mulligan II: In the Rough, Mulligan III: Teacher's Pet
I think this is a very realistic story, about the problems of coming out in your workplace and the unknown results it can have. Also, it's a good lesson of courage and unselfishness - Rouge - Nov-24-2010

A great story in the series. I like the relationship between Louise and Marty, but issue of gay teachers in schools and some of the prejudice they can face was powerfully written and very well done. Excellent. - Lyn B - May-06-2011

Mulligan IV: The Cart Path Not Taken by KG MacGregor
Original / Uber | Modern | Alternative (Mature) | Romance (alt) | Short Story - 20 pages | Finished |
Cast: Marty, Louise, Tami, Pat, Joyce, Shirley, Carol, Sparks, Linda
I never thought I could enjoy anything that had golf in it, but I've been loving the Mulligan series. I just had to comment on this one though because it had two of my favorite characters from another series that MacGregor wrote. It definitely surprised me and put a smile on my face. It was a great read like all of MacGregor's other works and definitely worth the time. - Anonymous - Apr-06-2008

After reading this Mulligan stories I know more words about golf in English than in Spanish, my real language!!
Loved the "visit" of the younger couple - Rouge - Nov-24-2010

Another fun story in the series. I really enjoy reading about Marty and Louise's relationship. These are a couple that I'd like to meet and spend time with. Fun and poignant too. - Lyn B - May-06-2011

Mulligan V: Best Ball by KG MacGregor
Original / Uber | Modern | Alternative | Romance (alt) | Short Story - 20 pages | Finished |
A good story in the series. You get to experience so much in Louise and Marty's relationship in these snapshots. There are some funny and poignant moments in another excellently written story. It's well worth reading the whole series. Recommended. - Lyn B - May-06-2011

i don't understand the first bit of golf.. still this was an interesting series to read.. says a lot about the qualities of the author.. - Anonymous - May-30-2011

New Lover Lust by KG MacGregor
Original / Uber | Modern | Alternative | Romance (alt) | Very Short Story - 6 pages | Finished |
Cast: Frances
Wonderful story, real story. I enjoyed it, though I did have a tear in my eye for a lot of it. - Anonymous - Dec-27-2010

I liked the reflective nature of this story. It's bittersweet, but has a happy ending. I'd liked to have seen more of what happened to them, but as it stands, it's well worth reading. I like long in-depth stories, but K.G.M. manages to get so much emotion into her short stories that they are always worth reading. - Lyn B - Mar-11-2011

sad but sweet.. - xtra dog - Jun-13-2011

i read this short almost everyday this week. its one of those stories that stays with you. glad i came across it. - a - Jun-30-2011

Very nice, well written story. - Anonymous - Aug-09-2011

This is such a beautifully written story! It's short but has emotion. Just amazing! - Rylie - Aug-14-2011

Accountant Jayne Crowder is risk-averse. But she can't say no when partner Alice Yeung, an adventure tour planner, coaxes her along for a 30th birthday exploit she'll never forget.
it's not just the wining and dining in this story, it's the message behind it.. really.. doesn't matter that it's also really hot.. - xtra dog - Jun-13-2011

I love that this story shows what couples will for one another. - B - Aug-14-2011

Hot! I'd like to see more of Jayne and Alice :D - Anonymous - Aug-24-2011

That is very cute! Wildly romantic and full of wonderful sentiment. Hot too... - Georgia - Jul-24-2013

Remembrances by KG MacGregor
Original / Uber | Modern | Alternative | Romance | Short Story - 11 pages | Finished | May-05
Cast: Leo, Claudia
Part 2 of the Expectations Series
Series List: Expectations, Remembrances
This is the sequel to 'Expectations,' my contribution to the Academy of Bards 2005 Valentine Special, and it takes place many years later...
Very nice wrap up to Expectations. Cheeky ending is great. - Georgia - Apr-09-2008

**** Spoiler Alert **** Very well written; clever and humorous in some respects. So much time passed, though. To me there's more sadness than happiness, though the ending is a happy one. - Samantha - Dec-31-2008

A different kind of sequel. The reunion of Leo and Claudia was very well written. It felt right, although I found the final scene a little cheesy, even when it tied into the first story. Nice read. It leaves you hoping that the couple make it work this time. - Lyn B - Feb-23-2011

loved "expectations" more than this story.. there are so many sad remembrances in this one.. - Anonymous - May-22-2011

Road from Kilimanjaro (The) by KG MacGregor
Original / Uber | Modern | Alternative | Adventure | Novella - 127 pages | Finished | Feb-03
Cast: Mary, Kate, Kristin, Jack, Summit, Bobby, Vince, John, David, Trevor
This is an incredible tale of self-discovery, will power, adventure and awakenings. KG takes you on a hike up Mt. Kilimanjaro and gives you insight into the will that it takes to make it to the top. The main characters, Mary Kate and Kristin are just awesome. They'll make you smile with their charms and make you grit your teeth in empathy as they go on their journey through the clouds. I highly recommend this story! - Di Bauden - Jan 24th, 2003

This is not only a great story, it is so beautifully constructed that I hated to get to the end of it. Ms. MacGregor captures so many emotions so intricately that I can't put the story away until I'm done with it, so my advice would be to start reading early or you'll find yourself staying up way past your bedtime to finish the story. I recommend all of this very talented bards' work, and this story just proves to me that this lady is very gifted with the written word. I hope for more to come from this author, because she has so much to offer and what a coup for us that she posts it in venues where we reap the benefits. Thank you again KG MacGregor for a wonderful ride. - Maria - Jan 27th, 2003

WOW!! What a great story! I feel like I too have been on the quest for Kili now, every grueling bit of it! KG has done an excellent job here! And it is a sweet tale of love discovered and learning what is important and dealing with choices. This is a 'must read' tale for everyone to enjoy and learn from! - Anastacia13 - Jul 1st, 2003

Inspiring and romantic, this is one of my very favorite stories. Though my own journeys of self-discovery have seldom been paralleled so metaphorically, The Road from Kilimanjaro hit very close to home for me -- and pleasantly so. There are very few stories I'd recommend more than this. - Catherine - Aug-07-2006

This was the first KG MacGregor story I read and I return to it time and again. It inspired me that much I actualy went out and Climbed Kilimanjaro which was the experience of a life time, so thank you to KG MacGregor for that. I have to say the descriptions in this story of the area and the emotions you feel during the climb are spot on. Well worth a read from everyone. - Titch - Apr-18-2007

Loved it...great read - Anonymous - Apr-30-2008

I read this story a few years ago and absolutely loved it. It's the first story I felt compelled to share with others. I'm going to sit down and read it again now and I'm sure I'll enjoy just as much as the first time...probably more! If you haven't read this story GRAB it now and get real comfy in that favorite chair because you aren't going to be able to put it down until the very end!! - JC - Jun-05-2008

Once again, KG has furnished us with a thrilling tale, which definitely needs a sequel. More More More!! Please?? - jt - Jan-29-2009

She did a wonderful job describing the ascent to the mountain. The characters were very warm. Yet, I don't think she did all her research. If the girl is blonde white female, I highly doubt she went to Savannah State, which she then later referred to as Savannah College.
Otherwise, I thought the story was well done and characters were warm and appealing. - Anonymous - May-18-2009

Anyone who is familiar with Savannah would know that it is possible that a blonde white girl may very well go to Savannah State, but Mary Kate from Mooresville would be unlikely. The author said State only the first time. All the others, she said College. Not a lapse in research, just a slip of the keyboard. Does it matter? The research she did for the primary story was what was important. She either wrote from experience or did extensive research in order to write a super story in a style I could read all day. She didn't have me thinking about going to college, she had me climbing Kilimanjaro. Good on ya, KG. Keep it up! - jacque58 - Apr-25-2010

Very well done. Lots of detail. Truely a gifted writer. Can't help but wonder.... might this be a true story? - mine2give2u - Jul-02-2010

A really great story. Good job - sassy123 - Aug-31-2010

One of the best stories I've ever read. - DD - Dec-04-2010

Very well written story. I liked how the relationship developed between them. Not only that, the details on the trip and the secondary characters all added to the quality of this story. Excellent. - Lyn B - Feb-23-2011

Outdoor adventures are not my cup of tea, but I decided based on the reviews, to give this one a read. I'm gad I did. This is a throughly enjoyable read. The characters are fleshed out and believable. I recommend this to anyone, be they outdoorsy or not. - cygirl1 - Mar-17-2011

i just loved this fic. I could really relate to Mary Kate, and i'm rather partial to adventure stories where the author takes you on a journey that is clearly close to their heart. Thanks heaps! - Michelle - Apr-16-2011

this is really a wonderful story.. the way the author describes the trek across the mountain makes you feel like a part of the expedition.. nice subtext (maintext?) as well.. especially loved the humour in the dialogues.. i recommend this story to everyone who is not looking for a thriller, horror or ghost story.. since such expectations are the only ones that could prevent you from enjoying this story.. - xtra dog - Jun-13-2011

Very good - Anonymous - Aug-08-2011

I think this is the best story from KG - certainly my favourite. A journey of discovery and romance both literally and metaphorically. Compelling story telling than makes you a participant, rather than just the observer. Read it. - Georgia - Sep-16-2011

REALLY EXCELLENT!!!!! - soopi - Jul-01-2012

This is an awesome story! I enjoyed how the story built up and the interaction between the characters was excellent. Well worth reading! - Ricky - Dec-08-2012

I think this is my favourite KG MacGregor story. Her writing allows the reader to experience the story. A wonderful talent. Not that I have climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, but the description of the grime after a multi-day expedition is ichingly accurate. Enjoy! - Georgia - Aug-11-2013

Highly enjoyed this story twice now. I can't wait to see what these two will be up to in another adventure. I felt like I was actually there and really bonded with the characters. Bravo! - Katie of Ohio - Aug-14-2013

Part 1 of the Shaken Series

Anna Kaklis Rutherford, the tall dark vice president of Premier Motors of Beverly Hills, southern California's top BMW dealer, and lawyer Lily Stuart, of Braxton Street Family Law Clinic, would probably never have met had it not been for Fate.
But when a big quake hits, they happen to be in the same mall and share the harrowing experience as they are try to survive until help comes, bonding in a way that they don't quite understand, but which which may develop from a very special friendship into much more, if they can survive.
This is fresh and well-written, a great combination! She draws us in from the opening lines, building suspense with humor and a good sense of dialogue. I can easily picture 'normal' people talking and feeling this way. I read this one, then went back and read it again. - k.j. - Sep 15th, 2002

Wonderful story!!!! This is about Lily and Anna trapped in a earthquake.Suspense and humor in a extremly well written story, read pleasantly. - Leth - Jan 5th, 2003

The Anna Lily Saga has a permanent place in my heart. It's absolutely amazing. A story of familial love, of building a family in the modern world, and of unexpected trials. It's a story that will tug the heart of even the hardest person. This is not a fluffy kind of romance. It's real, so real that everytime I took a ride into their world, something still touches my heart eventhough I've read all the stories many times. - xiu - Feb-10-2008

I have read and loved all of the pieces in this series - and it's still not enough. These characters are so warm and welcoming, it's would be a shame not to have more.... - Anonymous - May-13-2008

KG is one of the best! This Shaken series is one you shouldn't miss! I've enjoyed this story so much I'm craving for more update on these 2 wonderful characters. thanks so much KG! - Luie - May-15-2008

WOW! Thank you ever so much KG! Such a great and wonderful work. I found myself forgetting to breath a few times, I was so caught up in the moment. - Jenner - Jun-22-2008

Great story! - Nicole - Jan-19-2009

Ecriture puissante et intelligente. L'humour subtile, irresistible... et certaine partie ne sont definitivement pas faite pour etre lue aux bureau! lol! BRAVO! Cast: Anna, Lily, Carolyn, Vicki, George
Part 2 of the Shaken Series
Series List: Shaken, Stirred, Strained, Anna's Christmas, I Told You So, Blood of My Blood
I'm surprised that the prequel to Stirred has not been posted here yet because if you read Shaken by KGMacGregor, then you were pleasantly surprised to see the return of Lily and Anna.I was pulled into the story immediately and if you haven't read Shaken yet, please, run, don't walk to the story and you will really savor the quality of Stirred much more than if you read it as a stand alone.I loved both stories and I highly recommend them to everyone who is a fan of top quality, well written engrossingly charming stories. How lucky we are that these wonderfully talented writers grace us with their gifts. Thank you for sharing that gift with all of us. - Maria - Sep 10th, 2002

i really like this series.. so i'm contemplating reading 'strained' immediately or getting some much needed sleep first.. as if that's a hard decision to make.. 'strained' here i come! - xtra dog - Jun-15-2011

Interesting story! it provides food for contemplation! about what? can't say without giving away a spoiler :) suffice it to say i'm really glad i read it, makes me want to have a peek into the author's head, she's a thinker! - Kat - Sep-05-2007

An interesting story. Different from others because of the topic. Would love to see the author fill it out more, but it's really good the way it is. Give it a try. - Miss Sellaneous - Sep-12-2008

Very well written story with lots of twists and turns that add to the gentle romance that builds between Liza and Vonne. Good read. - Lyn B - Mar-11-2011

interesting topic.. story has a nice build up in every department.. - xtra dog - Jun-18-2011

KG delivers another winner in this tale of hard work and manipulation. Like all of KG's stories, this one is well written with enough twists and turns to keep the reader wanting more. If you're in the mood for something different, this one is definitely for you. - Stacia - Jul-25-2013

whoohoo.. another lovely story in this series.. loved the word games in this one.. - xtra dog - Jun-16-2011

A solid entry in the lives of Anna, Lilly and their growing family/circle of friends. Parts of this one happened too fast for me, especially Anna's sudden change of heart. One of the best things about this series is that it offers a more realistic approach to romance and how a couple combines their different likes, dislikes and personalities. Definitely worth the time! - Stacia - Jul-25-2013

Monday, January 7, 2008 - Publishing Announcement

I'm excited to announce the return of Anna & Lily in Without Warning, the first book in The Shaken Series. If you've been following my blog, you already know that Bella Books is bringing back the stories of Shaken, Stirred & Strained, all under individual covers with new and expanded scenes. Without Warning is now ready for pre-order from Bella, and will ship on January 14th. When I announced Bella's re-release of Mulligan, The House on Sandstone & Malicious Pursuit, I advised you to save your nickels if you already had a previous edition. Not so with Without Warning. This isn't the condensed version of Shaken that was previously published. It's just the first story, and it's been totally rewritten with the hope of expanding the series for as long as Anna & Lily have stories to tell. Those buying directly from Bella Books will get an autographed token of thanks. Please visit the Book Page at my website to read the synopsis, the inspiration for these stories and Chapter 1.

KG MacGregor:

I?m happy to announce the return of The House on Sandstone, now available from Bella Books (www.bellabooks.com). Thanks to everyone who bought the first edition. This one has only minor changes from the earlier version, but it has a cool cover by Steph. Here?s the synopsis, and please stop by to check out what else is in the works at www.kgmacgregor.com.

Twenty-five years ago, Carly Griffin left her home town of Leland, Kentucky ? sure that it held nothing for her future. Now weary of living overseas for one consulting project after another, she?s glad to have two months back home to relax with her aging parents.

When she catches a glimpse of her high school friend Justine in the doorway of her elegant home, Carly is surprised by the warm, familiar feelings that the image stirs within her.

Justine Hall made different life choices, returning to Leland after college to marry and raise two children. Now divorced, she walks a fine line between sanity and hell, struggling to reconcile the sexuality she can no longer deny with the expectations of motherhood and mores in a small town. Could these two women possibly have anything in common after all these years?

KG MacGregor:

I?m excited to announce the release of Mulligan (http://shop-host.net/cgi-bin/miva.cgi?Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=bella3&Product_Code=BMK1MUL) by Bella Books (ISBN #1594930708, $13.95). The book, which was briefly available last summer, is based on characters from the short story series of the same name, and will ship on October 4th. Thanks to all of you who wrote me about the short stories. Your ideas and comments made this a better book.

The days are long and lonely for Louise Stevens, whose retirement dreams were shattered by the sudden loss of her partner. All of that changes when she meets Marty Beck, a flirtatious, fun-loving, and infuriating golf pro who pushes her buttons?including one button she thought didn?t work anymore.

Marty is intrigued by the pretty Louise, a newcomer to the Pine Island Golf Club with a beautiful swing, but a disposition that needs work. Certain they can eventually be friends, she?s stymied when her good-humored overtures are rejected.

Love can come along at any time, even in the golden years, and even for two women who don?t expect it at all. Though a shaky start nearly dooms their romance, something tells Marty and Lou that this one might be worth a Mulligan.

KG MacGregor:

Thanks to all of you who have written looking for Just This Once. I'm happy to announce it is now available from Bella Books, with a brand new cover from Steph. You might recognize the story of Wynne Connelly and Paula McKenzie as one that appeared on the web as Getting It Right. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the feedback you sent on that story. Because of you, the book version is longer, with deeper insights into both of the lead characters, and more scenes from their road together. You can read the first chapter of the book at my website, www.kgmacgregor.com.

For anyone headed out to Provincetown, I'll be signing copies of Just This Once and Undercover Tales at Vixen Nightclub on August 4th. It's part of the Fridays at Four series, sponsored by Now Voyager Books, Vixen, & Cicchetti's Espresso Bar. I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new friends.

Thanks again, KG
