Good short story, with a nice pwp element to it. I liked the characters and how their relationship developed. A muggy spring day in Michigan unleashes a fury of tornados. Two women are in the path of one of them: volunteer firefighter Gable McCoy and teacher Erin Richards.
This is by far the best of Kim Baldwin's work. The action scenes are right out of the movies. I felt the tension as the leads waited out the dark night in the tornado's aftermath. But it was the tension between Erin and Gable that stayed with me for days after I read the story. The sexual tension kept me on pins and needles! It hit way to close to home! For anyone who has wondered if their "good friend" feels the same way they do... this story will bring back wonderful memories. Thanks Kim, - L. Karol - Aug 6th, 2004 I really enjoyed this story. It had a little bit of everything in it. I loved how the relationship between Erin and Gable grew from that first evening. Beautifully written, it's well worth reading. - Lyn B - Mar-20-2011 Sweet sweet story of love found. - Anon - May-27-2011 Sweet sweet story of love found. - Anon - May-27-2011 Very sweet! I liked how their relationship developed through the story. Well worth reading. - Ricky - Jun-14-2012 |

In this sequel to "Blown Away," volunteer firefighters Gable McCoy and Erin Richards face new perils on the job and in their relationship.
I liked this sequel. Seeing how the relationship between Erin and Gable had developed was great. I like the realism that Kim Baldwin gets into her characters and their relationships. This is very well written and the author packs story with so much tension and emotion that this story feels much longer than it actually is. Well worth reading. - Lyn B - Mar-20-2011 Nice sequel. I liked it! - Ricky - Jun-15-2012 |

A very powerful short story. I'd like to read a sequel about these two ladies. It works as a short stand alone story, but I'd like to have seen what happened next. Forced together during a wilderness adventure on a remote Canadian river, a shy and solitary kayak guide does everything she can to fight her inexplicable attraction to one of her clientsła workaholic redhead who seems to invite disaster wherever she goes.
Nice story but could have been better if Kim had taken more time to give it more body. It has potential to become a much better story if the characters are given more depth, there is more intrigue and the action is more intense. But I suppose she wanted to just keep it short. Pity though.Still, It's just right to read in bed just before you go to sleep. It's fun, pleasant, not too exciting or "angstfull" to give you bad dreams and short enough to finish before lights out.Restfull. - letterwolf - Apr 20th, 2004 Loved the short story. Can't wait for the book! - Anonymous - Mar-24-2006 I read this not long ago and loved it. The story builds so well and draws you in and the ending is lovely. Well worth reading as all Kim Balwin's work is. Highly recommended. - Lyn B - Feb-11-2011 I really enjoyed this story - although I wished the ending had been a little bit longer. - Ricky - Feb-26-2012 |
