Great story. Well-written, believable characters, strong plot. Well-done indeed ! And I was so pleased to ear again about Keller and Garrison... Thx Kim ! - Mani - May-14-2009

This story is amazing.. I've read stories that made me laugh or made me hot but NEVER have I read a story that made my cry through two chapters... this is a MUST read. Do not misunderstand me the tears were happy ones... - Linn - May-14-2009

Bonne lecture - yuka - May-18-2009

I re-read this story again after reading it a while ago. I love the plot and characters. I love how all the character's storylines are followed til the end. This is a must read. - purplehawke - Jul-10-2009

beautiful! i wonder why i never noticed this story. very good read. i hope there's a sequel/ - rec - Jul-14-2009

I always find it a struggle when an author throws lots of characters at me at the beginning of a story and this has quite a few. However, before I knew it I realised I was already sucked in and was on a journey with every single one of them. And boy was that a mother of a journey! This is an awesome tale of a life changing situation and the effect it has on a group of very different people. You follow each and every one of the very well constructed characters through till the end. I laughed with them, cried with them and cheered for them! Loved it. - Sai - Aug-24-2009

What a fantastic story! Thanks so much for sharing it. A must read for sure. - LeaAnn - Oct-10-2009

Kim is an absolutely great author. People from many different countries have read her work I'm sure. Her stories are an addiction to us! I keep reading them over and over again.

but great job all the way kim! - A - Apr-20-2012

Loved it!! Another great story. Her ability to bring so many emotions to the surface is just amazing. A definite favourite and highly recommend. - Niyah - Sep-06-2012

I marathoned this puppy! So tired. Yes - This is a lovely story. Managing to be very unique regardless of the numerous television series, movies, books, and other stories which feature the 'desert island' trope.
All the characters were given thoughtful depth of consideration and even some really minor characters stood out by the same TLC bestowed in their upbringing.
**** SPOILER ALERT ****
The complex exploration of the evolution of relationships over time and through extraordinary circumstances was beautifully executed. As was the same thought provoking journey into the what-ifs of lives lived 'on hold' (survivors) and trying to 'move on' to survive (everybody else). Regardless of the seemingly static nature of island living, the hero's journey here was deliciously subtle and at the end the change is strikingly apparent.
Not overly melodramatic, with perhaps that bit of Hollywood stylized exception near the end there. I do think that the hotness rating that seems to average high, is a little higher than the reality of the read (particularly based on actual sexual liaison time featured within the pages), but the tease 'can' be just as hot as the moment, and the build-up is what actually matters most in my opinion, so well played there.

Told ya I'd be an author's fan ;D - ScOut4it - Apr-20-2013

Believe what is said about this story!!! Amazing read!!! Thanks to the author - Nics - Jan-28-2015

Thank you for a beautiful story. Makes you wonder though : is it really possible ? Are there any accounts of a similar adventure really happening to someone, somewhere ? - orcsage - May-24-2015

There aren't many books in my library (whether in the town library or the University's) that protray lesbian relationships. So I seek them out in fandom looking for a comforting read to be entertained by authors that succeed in delivering a story in a revealing light. I have read a few of your stories and plan to devour the rest as well. I wanted to say thank you and encourage you to keep weeving this loom of fiction that I and others are denied by an ignorant society. - Jessica - Oct-27-2011

liked this story a lot more than it prequel.. this is not a fun little ditty of erotica, since the characters have gained in complexity and are growing in depth.. since the author is not sure whether the story is finished or not, i would like to encourage her to keep writing about these two characters.. i am looking forward to seeing what will happen next.. - xtra dog - Jan-06-2012

when chance said: ''I wanna wrestle, too'' i almost fell off the bed...lmao - braniac - Jan-06-2012

I can't believe this has so few recommendations. Its one of the most memorable f/f stories I've read anywhere. I read this story and its sequel when it came out (Feb 11) and several hundred stories later, this still counts as one of my faves.

**** Spoiler Alert **** This has to be my favorite by Kim. Such a sad but cute love story. I couldn't find a good summary so I almost didn't read it.

My summary:

Caden and Laurel where best friends through college, Laurel from South Boston, and Caden from Beacon Hill. Told through flashbacks and present day happenings the reader learns of the struggles of two girls realizing who they are and how to stand on their own two feet. When Laurel gets a message from Caden, someone she hasn't heard from in ten years, she flies back to Boston to support her old friend as she goes in to have a brain tumor removed. This story had me on the edge of my seat till the last sentence.

Read it! - Amanda - Mar-12-2009

i love to play the songs mentioned in a story while reading it.. this is the first time i came across a story where the author was able to pace it along with the lhyrics of the song.. not in the beginning, but from the "you smiled, you smiled" part to the "now we are in heaven" part.. try it out.. - xtra dog - Jan-11-2012

Really enjoyed this xx - SD - May-19-2015

a beautiful story from a very talented writer. the story just touches your soul. - Anonymous - May-28-2010

Another great story by Pritekel. I've enjoyed everything that she has shared on this site. She's the master for slowly building the romance with lot's of tortured, angsty pasts. But, the endings are always sweet. - x/g fanfic fanatic - Jul-15-2010

I really enjoyed this story. Great job - sassy123 - Jan-22-2011

Nicely done!! Great from start to finish. - Druid - Mar-19-2011

i simply hate the question "if you've never been with someone of the opposite sex, then how can you know you're gay?".. i loved the author's answer to that question.. it had me laughing out loud just imagining someone's facial expression when hearing that answer.. and that is the beauty of this author's skill in writing: she doesn't just tell a story, but she sucks you into it through the settings, dialogues, characters and emotions.. you become a part of the stories.. - xtra dog - Jan-05-2012

wow...what an incredible story. This bard knows how to bring you to the wedge of crying and laughing with just a few lines. - braniac - Jan-14-2012

wow!! Just when you think "how different can this one be"...it is original and so well written. The characters and story just pull you in. Very satisfying and entertaining. Kim's stories stay with me for days and days - michele - Mar-09-2012

Another incredible story. Very well written and highly enjoyable to read. - Niyah - Feb-07-2013

Loved this story, just when you think it's over, bam something to keep it going. I was rather disappointed when it ended... cuz I wanted more! - Stardawn - Feb-16-2013

please for once just write a normal story that goes straight forward, was enjoying the book until it went into a warped unnecessary world....that just makes it exhausting! - pleaseforonce!! - Sep-02-2015

For Dakota camp has one positive side - Carrie, the daughter of Pastor Bill whom she finds really alluring. Getting to know Carrie proves to be a defining moment for Dakota and Carrie - their lives will changes for ever be course of what they share during camp.
I love Dakota's character, especially the gutsy things she says when they are young. Good read! - Lady D - Dec-21-2009

This story was really well done. There really was a sense of uncertainty - will they or won't they end up together? Religion and love can be a volatile mix... - JS Stephens - Dec-23-2009

A great read, I truly enjoyed the heat in the beginning to the slow intensity of it's finishing story lines. Something to leave you flushed in your seat and yet still intriguing enough to continue. - S. Austin - Nov-03-2010

Really good read ^^ I really appreciated the way Scarlet handled their first encounter in the real life, whan she decided to become a women before Ashton. There was something ultimate about it that made this moment very particular, unique ans quite intense for me. It was exciting and deeply moving and I'm glad this bard did not try to sweep away the reality like many stories have. Kim did a pretty good jod dealing this this suject. Congratulations for this gemme :) - yuka - Dec-14-2010

Wonderful story that would make a even better movie - Anonymous - Apr-05-2008

I read this a month or so ago and it freaked me out! I had nightmares for a bit. When they finally went away I read it again.(Masochist perhaps?) It still freaked me out but I had to re-read it. I'll read it again when I've recovered. This is definitely worth the time it takes to read it. - darkenedkarma - Apr-07-2008

Totally different than any other story I read but totally worth reading. Great crime story and great characters. Thank you Kim - Marty - Apr-10-2008

This is a damn good read! As always, Jae has written a sotry to be remembered. Great character development and tight. There is so much depth in the emotions. Jae, you have to write another sequel. - Giselle - Apr-11-2008

It's funny how you can read something that contains within it a horrific glimpse of life that many people have to face, and still find it to be a brilliant story. Though dark and disturbing, the collector is a fantastic read perhaps making you appreciate the good within your own life, whilst demonstrating the ability of mankind in suffering through evil and overcoming it!! Great crime story, very well written. It will make you squirm in some parts! - Sai - Jun-02-2008

This is a phenominal author. I have read several of her stories on more than one occassion. I am always on the look out for her new stuff. I dont read this type of story usually, but since it was written by Kim.P. I decided to give it a go. It is definetly intense, but you wont be disappointed. Great writting. If you scare easily,or live by yourself. I wouldn't recommend reading it at night. lol. - brighteyez - Jun-12-2008

Very dark subject but one that deserves exploration. KP did an excellent job here, I am certainly a fan now. - ~M - May-13-2011

It's 5:59 a.m., and I just finished this incredible piece of writing. Absolutely amazing...I don't know when I've enjoyed a read more. A gripping drama, this story kept my attention, well, all night! I don't write many reviews, but READ THIS. Well done, Ms Pritekel! SPOILER WARNING: This does contain sensitive subject matter, so please read the disclaimer. - Souzan - Sep-27-2011

Absolutely fantastic story. Kim really knows how to grab hold of her readers and not let go. There definitely. Was some disturbing imagery in the one, but it only helped to convey the helplessness of the situation. I loved both Remmy and Julie but Remmy was absolutely the best. Read it! - Jendeh - Mar-04-2012

Another awesome story by KP. I'm thinking she's becoming a classic in this household. ;D - Tee - Oct-06-2012

so sweet. worth the time taken to read it!! - sandy - Dec-25-2012

I really enjoyed the various aspects of the characters' personalities. The premise was also a real nice change from the usual fair - What a great dynamic! :)
I really loved the bitchy model who was more that her shallow surface would at first lead one to believe.

**** SPOILER ALERT ****

Man, their first fight was so wonderfully fucked up; I really liked how horribly wrong it all went.
Seeing how Juliet's day began leading up to her interview (that she was 'somewhat' primping for) was such a sweet build up (with the anticipation of their first meeting and Juliet's subsequent revelation).
Having Megan's character be so lonely was a very believable and, for many, relatable inclusion.
Though the ending felt a bit fantastical, ultimately it was satisfying.
A new favorite story that I'm sure will lead to a new favorite author of mine.

I am surprised no one has recommended this story before. To begin with...a warning: it is not for one faint of heart. It is, in fact, the only story that has ever made me cry. A VERY emotional read, great characters, and most importantly, very realistic characters. I truly recommend this to anyone! Especially ones looking for an awesome hurt/comfort story. I guarentee this story will stick with you for a long long time. - Anonymous - Sep-02-2006

I was so overwhelmingly touched by this story...I could never have imagined feeling so much and so deeply on such a personal level through reading a story...anyone who reads this will certainly appreciate this author's outstanding ability to reach her readers' emotions. - Sthpaw30 - Oct-26-2006

Well written with a good pace. Kim is very good at writing characters you will care about. The flashback scenes were seamless, best I've seen a writer write, actually. You definitely feel as if you've been on the journey along with the protagonist when you are done. Great read and highly recommended. - A fan - Nov-05-2006

This story is so good it's depressing. - Anonymous - May-17-2007

This is the most touching story I have ever read in my life. The characters were so believable and real that you are pulled into the story. **** Spoiler Alert **** I read this ( the 1st time) about a year ago and i swear sometimes i still think about this and just start to cry.
It got to me like no other fic ever has ... and i've read alot of fic lol
i don't really like sad stories usually but i love the author so i thought i'd give it a go, sometimes it makes me so sad i wish i hadn't, but it is and will always remain one of my favourite stories. - Amy - Mar-12-2009

Awesome! - danbina - Apr-01-2010

I NEVER cry when I watch movies or read stories. However, by the time I finished this I was in tear. Still just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. I agree with the reviewer above sometimes I wish I would never I have starting reading it. That's how emotional it made me. I've never reacted like that to a story, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. - CD - Jun-13-2010

Such an emotional work deserves to bed read. I challenge you not to be moved. - Tara - Jul-12-2010

I've tried not to, oh god I've really tried... but i did it. I couldn't help myself. I cried. I've read the previous recommendations and I didn't want to do something so predictable. I thought I was better than that! lol! Pretty full of myself huh? I don't like being sad, or desillusional, or bitter... so I usually keep myself at distant from stories or movies that scream "I'm gonna make you cry and then let you go frustated for one day". I think there are already to much frustrating things in real life. At first I didn't want to read this story, but somehow I brought myself to do so, cause I love Kin Pritekel's work and a part of me kept saying that she was to clever, to talented, to just write a "sad" story. There had to be something else. And I was right. I found one of the most beautifully written novel I ever read. This had me wrapped, enjoying a ride full of emotion, of passion and wisdom. For those who are sceptikal like I was before reading this, I can assure you that the aching that you fear, the sadness that you find sooo boring, are not what will remain in your chest after reading the last word. You'll actully feel like there's nothing in the world you can't do. Don't wait, indulge yourself to be touched in your soul... - yuka - Dec-18-2010

Up to this point the best story of this author. I was truly moved like seldomly before by a story. And I was in turmoil because I wished I hadn't read it, the emotions rang too strong in me. And then I catch myself at reading it again. - WT-GER - Feb-20-2011

So damn emotional. Just a Classic Tragedy, get the hankies ready. I just couldn't make myself stop reading. Whew - ~M - May-13-2011

Heartbreaking, incredibly moving, and beautifully written. Very rarely am I this emotional reading a story. I cried so much. Kim Pritekel is a very talented bard, and has written wonderful, realistic characters that you cannot help but love. I couldn't put it down. And even though this story is incredibly sad, it left me feeling... idk... galvanised, maybe. I think that this story will stay with me for some time. Amazing. Don't wait, read it. - A - Jan-02-2015

Oh gosh what to say about this story...I think it will haunt me for a very long time until I read it again and let it haunt me all over again. So beautifully written and heartbreaking. I knew I shouldn't read it just from the disclaimer but I am glad I did because it just makes you FEEL. It made me laugh, cry, get angry, and even frustrated with the characters' stubbornness but that's the point, it made me FEEL so many emotions. I love this author that I am barely discovering. I plan on reading all of her work I also love, Love, LOVE the cameos of her other characters from other stories that show up in all the different stories, they make me happy! - AMO - May-06-2015

can't believe nobody commented this story.. there's a bit of everything in this one, folks.. bit of romance, bit of suspense.. it ain't no thriller nor a western, but it could be both.. loved this one! - Anonymous - May-09-2011

Another great story. - sassy123 - Jun-14-2011

Good, solid story with lots of emotional highs and lows. If you like a more realistic type of story, this one is for you becuase everything isn't fixed easily or at all in the end. - Stacia - Jan-31-2013

On the Wings of Chance by Kim Pritekel

Wow...this one hit home for me big time! This is exactly how my Partner and I met and we've been together nearly 10 years and still very much in love! So yes it can and does happen this way. Aside from that this was an enjoyable story but not one of my fav's from this author. Ms. Pritekel is a very talent writer and most of her other works are far superior. That being said...this is still a fun read! - JC - May-04-2008

have to agree with CJ.. uh, JC i mean.. it can and does happen this way.. is how i got in touch with my first girlfriend.. ah, sweet memories.. anyway, nice story.. not miss pritekel's best one but nice nontheless.. - Anonymous - May-09-2011

I like this story. It's well written and sexy. - Anonymous - Jul 3rd, 2005

This is one of very few fanfic stories that I come back to again and again. The concept is original which sets it apart from the beginning. I normally prefer contemporary stories but as this was so well constructed and written I didn't have time to think about the setting. I like a good story and I like a good PWP but this combination (that the author names SWP) is great, with the sex scenes enhancing and complimenting the story while also being really hot at the same time!I highly recommend this story and commend the author for an engaging and sexy interpretation of 'marriage' traditions of the past! Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your work! - Leah - Sep 4th, 2005

A lovely Elizabethan Era romance with a nice twist. Well written and well paced. - Georgia - May-03-2008

LOVED IT...my only disappointment in the fact that it's so short!! Great job Kim Pritekel!!! - JC - May-17-2008

i hope theres another one i just love it it great... - Anonymous - Sep-25-2008

quite hot indeed. Since it takes place in 1540, it should be Middle Ages, not modern. - offhermeds - Jan-15-2009

A very beatiful story, indeed. And usually the beginning of Modern Age is pointed after 1492, with the discovery of America by Cristoforo Colombo. So, in this case is correct. - Tenshi79 - Jan-19-2009

love it! one of the best and hotest medieval stories. kim is an amazing writer. - luie - Feb-18-2009

HOT! - Anonymous - Mar-16-2009

Good story, enjoyed reading it. - sassy123 - Nov-30-2010

My first introductory piece to Kim Pritekel's fiction. A sizzling hot erotic story which I really enjoyed reading. My only complaint is its rather hasty ending. - booksmantra - Apr-14-2011

indeed swp.. but good swp is nothing to be sniffed at!! - Anonymous - May-10-2011

Part 2 of the Dance With Me Series
Series List: Dance With Me, Play It Again, Grey
Thirteen years after the events of "Dance With Me", Grey and Christian meet again when they end up living in the same city.
I was soo excited when I saw that there was a sequel! It's written even better than the first one since the characters are a lot more developed. And seriously, who hasn't been loved on by a Brutus? :0) - Anonymous - May-08-2009

I really love these characters and totally loved the story . It's even better than the first 'Dance with Me'. Thanks. - Ginger - May-12-2009

Histoire relativement simple. Kim, ici, rends la simplicité poetique, attendrissante, et dense a un point quasi toxique!
Cette serie (relativement courte) est "simplement" une vrai perle. - yuka - May-17-2009

Read it! Good good good. - Anonymous - Jun-13-2010

I love how this author incorporates song titles and small gestures into her stories. These minor details make the story resonate long after the final page. Not many authors have such ability, but I'm sure glad this one does because she can tell a damn good story. - Chemy - Feb-14-2011

What a terrific story. Great job - sassy123 - Apr-16-2011

I won't tell i'm surprised by how good this story is... cause I'm not. This bard doesn't need any recommandation. I just saw her name and read, without further questions... and OF COURSE, the read was excellent. Too short though, I wouldn't have mind to read 200 more pages. Congratulations and thank you for sharing your talent with us. - yuka - Dec-12-2010

nice story.. bit short which results in the end seeming to be a rush job.. still a nice read though.. - Anonymous - May-12-2011

What a great story. Job well done - sassy123 - Aug-06-2011

I challenge you not to fall in love with anything Kim has ever written. She's a fantastic author and well worth a look or two-thousand...Highest recommendations!!! I guarantee youll love it and come back again and again. - Fox_Feather - Apr-15-2006

Great story. Kim Pritekel weaves a nice tale of a successful music star with a scarred past and turbulent present and a childrens nurse who thinks she has everything she needs in her small town life. After meeting under interesting circumstances the two become friends and find their lives intertwining and the bond that develops between Christine and Willow is palpable even if it takes them a while to understand it fully.

Very well written with a touch of angst and dash of romance to keep you interested all the way to the end. I would definitely read a sequel.
- Sai - Apr-21-2006

Is this story finished or unfinished? The link on chapter 8 is a loop. - Anonymous - Apr-21-2006

This is great! I love the slow buildup of the romance. Nice change from "meet, greet, hop in bed" type stories. Maybe I'm just a sucker for a good romance. - JSS - Apr-22-2006

KP has always been one of my favorite authors and has written some of the 'nets finest fiction. This story is one of her best and is full of what makes her so fun to read - humor, love, action, drama, plenty of angst and the characters are true to life in a way only the very talented can portray. Thanks again KP for your past, present and future endeavors -- I'll always be a fan! - Therese - Apr-26-2006
