This Conqueror series is the exception to my rule of not reading conquerer stories. Deep and complete characterizations. A storyline that never quits providing suspense and suprises. Every new story is a gift, and an invitation to jump on the rollercoaster with the characters as they encouter the challenges of their relationship and their world. Thanks, LJ for checking your spelling and grammar and painting word pictures that stay with you for years afterward. (And thanks for truly steamy sensual scenes with that splash of hot sauce (kink).) - amy beltaine - Oct 26th, 2004 The best story about The Conqueror! LJ Maas, yours stories became you unforgettable! Rest well. - Leth Cross - Nov 1st, 2005 Truely one of the best. Although I never met you I felt a connection through your brilliant work. You will be sadly missed. Sleep well. - Sai - Nov 1st, 2005 the greatest conqueror series ever written. thank you LJ Maas for sharing with us your gift and imagination. - blazinangelwings - Nov 2nd, 2005 LJ MAAS, I always loved your name. It stood out, as did your stories. My only regret is that I think I only 'fed' you once or twice for your great output of works. I'm in the process of re-reading all of your works in your memory. Thank you for giving us more than the series was willing to do. If there is ever a reincarnation of the series via whatever vehicle 'they' choose, I'm sure you'll have had something to do with it. I hope Rob Tapert et al did read your work along the way. Peace, sister. - Anonymous - Nov 4th, 2005 Absolutely hands down my favorite story of all time. I've lost count of how many times I've read it. Well written, great character depth, and a story line that grips you. Read it...it will keep you riveted. - Psyche - Feb-09-2008 I have read about 80% of all the conqueror stories out there and let me assure you that this conqueror trilogy from LJ Maas is the best. There is a lot of romance and love scene included in a tightly woven plots filled with suspense, twists and turns. I've read all three stories at least twice. Be ready for thrilling adventure but don't forget a packet of tissue as well. The characters totally captured me and I was so drawn to them as a person. The story will leave you absolutely breathless. A must read. PS : - the love scenes are really good too :) - xiu - Feb-10-2008 I like to read Conqueror story's and this trilogy from LJ Maas is definetly a recommended read if ya like the Conqueror. It has a wonderful plot and some verry cute characters. And although this is suppose to be a Conqueror story there is a lot of tissue moments and romance too. - Callisto - Feb-10-2008 This is absolutely one of my favorite stories. I reread it at least once a year. If Xena had become the Conqueror this the kind of ruler she would have been. - CherylA - Feb-10-2008 this trilogy is just awesome. - Rangeela - Feb-13-2008 Although a voracious reader of fanfic I am not fond of the conquoror genre. This series has come so highly recommended and I was a fan of "The Queen" series that I thought I would give it a try. I was not disapointed. The series was gripping, well written and enjoyable. LJ states that it is not typical of a conquoror story, but if you are a fan of this genre, or if like me are a bit reluctant I encourage you to try it. I am only sorry that I was not able to tell LJ how much I enjoyed her work, and that she was taken too soon as she had stories still to write and life to enjoy. If the dead can hear your thoughts I am sure that LJ has heard many people thank her for her wonderful work. Rest easy. - Elaine - Feb-17-2008 Excellent!! - Balmain - Mar-03-2008 I can't help it. I return to this story again and again. - calabria - Mar-05-2008 These stories by this talented writer are truly what the Conqueror would have been like if ever came about. Your stories LJ will live on and because of that you will also live on. May you rest well and I truly believe the dead can hear our thoughts. Peace to you and yours. - Nicole - Apr-11-2008 This is the first Conqueror story I've read. I was really surprised at how good it was and steamy....WOW and I do mean WOW. I have read all of LJ's other stories and enjoyed the immensely. She has a way of grabbing you from the staet and never letting go. THe when you finish' all you want is more. Without all the recommendations, I seriously doubt if I would have taken the time to read this story. So thank you readers. And thank you LJ for sharing your words with us. - Nancy - May-09-2008 Simply amazing - corey - May-16-2008 I started to read this series three days ago, and I was so entranced that I couldn't stop until I had read every page of every book. Now, I am left speechless by how amazingly good this series is, and touched beyond words that the world of FanFic has made it possible to share in the dreams of someone who has gone on before us. I am humbled. Thank you, LJ, thank you. - jaeygatsby - Jun-13-2008 LJ was a master. This story is one of her best. - sumner - Jul-19-2008 This story and it's two companion pieces are my all time favorite story. Period. There has been nor will there ever be a better writer then LJ Maas. You are greatly missed LJ, but you live forever in your stories. Thank you! - Anonymous - Jul-22-2008 Awesome... - xardok - Jan-23-2009 This is the best author and the best series, ever! - Anonymous - Jan-28-2009 Amazing...my all time favorite Conqueror fanfic. Incredible, believable characters, hot hot hot. I'm so sad the author passed away, but she gave us a great gift before she left. Thank you. - Xenasgrrl - Jul-20-2009 This story is brilliant! So visual. Highest recommendation! - bromation - Nov-10-2009 This is by far the best fanfiction I have ever read for any fandom. (That is saying a great deal!) It is an amazing story to read and leaves you wanting more but more than satisfied with what you have. The characterization is incredible and the attention to detail in each plot is commendable. - Meg - Feb-23-2010 LJ Maas was one of the best, if not the best writers in all of Xena fanfic Her xharecters are well developed & very beleivable. Added bonus, she knows how to write a love scene. Her passing is deeply regretted. - Anonymous - Jul-04-2010 LJ Maas was one of the best, if not the best writers in all of Xena fanfic Her xharecters are well developed & very beleivable. Added bonus, she knows how to write a love scene. Her passing is deeply regretted. - Anonymous - Jul-04-2010 The best Conqueror series by far!! Your artistic abilities shine once more. Brilliant!! As in all your books, much research took place before the actual writing. I have been a great fan for many years and have enjoyed all your books. Your greatest legacy is the writings you leave to be enjoyed by many for years to come. We are all indebted to you. May your memory be eternal. - mine2give2u - Jul-14-2010 I love this story, Great Job - sassy123 - Sep-22-2010 As many have stated before: This is one of the best Conqueror stories out there. Recommended! - Whitney D. - Mar-09-2011 Like some of the reviewers here, I am not a fan of Conqueror stories. I gave this a try because I loved the author's other works. The perspective that the author takes on the theme is sophisticated and complex. The plot and character development are brilliant. The author's ability to write about sexuality is breathtaking - adventurous and sensual, yet deeply respectful of the characters and their love for each other. If you have not read the series yet, I am envious since it means you get to read it for the first time. - XenaLives - Sep-19-2011 Good tiiiiimes. I love this series more than the Queen Series. Can you believe it? So good. - Whitney D. - Oct-28-2011 Thafter spending an entire month of my free time going over the conqueror genre i have found the best nnn lj mass is a master. - Amanda - Jan-07-2012 one of the first conqueror stories i have ever read.. i like the fact that it's quite introspective and written in first person.. and as the author wrote in the disclaimer it is very graphic once they get going.. - xtra dog - Mar-22-2012 i've read this story a year ago and i want to rate it, because i loved it and i'm reading it again! 10 for this wonderful story! - braniac - Apr-28-2012 This was one of the best stories I have ever read she will be missed by me it makes me so sad to know that this great write is gone. Rest in peace great star. - Ebby - Dec-31-2012 This was one of the best stories I have ever read she will be missed by me it makes me so sad to know that this great write is gone. Thank you, LJ, thank you. Rest well and know that you are remembered. - Celise - - Anonymous - Jul-13-2013 I have read and retread these stories by LJ and it still breaks my heart that she passed at such a young age. May your star continue to shine bright and may your rest ever eternal. . - Nics - Aug-30-2013 LJ you will be truly missed. Yours were the first stories that not only brought joy in reading but allowed me to seek inner peace within myself. As a historian, I applaud you in your research in Ancient Greek culture and history. To all who come across this bard, I suggest you read all of her works. This is the best conqueror series to date. May you rest in peace dear one. - Chelle - Aug-12-2014 Such a gifted writer. An absolutely engrossing read. - Anonymous - Oct-10-2014 After reading so many excellent conqueror series, this still remains my favourite conqueror series of all. Superbly written, you feel the emotion, feel the moment, and you feel the attraction between Xena and Gabrielle till I actually shed real tears in some moments because of how masterful the author wields her words. Even rereading, I still get the emotional punch. Highly recommended! - Anonymous - Aug-05-2017 |

Tessa (Nikki) Nikolaidis is cold and ruthless, the perfect person to be Karê, the right-hand, to Greek magnate Andreas Meridio. Set in modern day Greece on the beautiful island of Mykonos, this novel weaves a tale of emotional intrigue as two women from different worlds struggle with forbidden desires. As the two come closer to the point of no return, Casey begins to wonder if she can really trust the beautiful Karê. Does Nikki's dark past, hide secrets that will eventually bring down the brutal Meridio Empire, or are her actions simply those of a vindictive woman? Will she stop at nothing for vengeance...even seduction? | |
Tess is dangerously sexy, wonderfully charming and overwhelmingly noble. This story is all about the characters and the way the air shimmers when they are near each other. Pleeeeeease read this, it's a beautifl love story :) - Norja - Oct 23rd, 2004 LJ Maas is one of the great bards to come out of the xenaverse. All her stories have plot, suspense, intrigue, and a romantic relationship that is HOT and challenging, often with a splash of hotsauce(kink). All are spell checked and grammar checked, and use the just right words to convey her meaning. This one is a slight departure in that it focusses more on the internal lives of the characters and makes you wait and wonder about the relationship. Will they ever work it out? Will they get together? Definately a page turner! - amy beltaine - Oct 26th, 2004 Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Shyn - May 29th, 2005 This story and all of LJ's stories are living classics and eternal. We honor your memory when we read them. - keeperofwords - Oct 30th, 2005 This is one of my favorite storyes ever!!thank you LJ for soo many happy hours!! forever Rest in peace!!Godspeed - Cris - Oct 31st, 2005 LJ I hope you know how much your stories meant to all of us who read them .Thank you for them .We will all miss you . - Kim - Nov 1st, 2005 This story is one of the best I have ever read, heartwarming, loving and real, everyone should read it, should be a film, play & book, We will all miss your work, rest now xx. - LuvTigger71 - Nov 5th, 2005 Beautiful and moving. Sometimes it really pays to wait until a story is finished - even if the wait seems rather long. I highly recommend it! I think I will even buy it. The characters are well written and the story line keeps you wanting to see more. Old west tales normally aren't my speed, but this one is definitely worth the time. Extremely well written and true to the time (well, outside of the same sex angle). Nicely done! Would love a sequel. - Stacia - Nov-20-2012 Not usually my type of read but took a chance and have to say did enjoy it xx - SD - Jul-15-2015 |
