| Oh that rare breed, the well considered story. This is a tremendously well written tale. It calls for great sensitivity on the part of the author who obviously possesses it in spades. She has also adeptly provided the characters with rare depth for a novella. A lot of effort has been put into the research for this piece and I strongly suspect our author is obsessed with the outdoors - the story is all the more credible for it. That is not to say that every situation is entirely credible (I did find myself wondering when a fuller explanation was going to be given for one or two events) but considering the number of strands to the story, only the pedants amongst us would be critical of that. Nevertheless, this is a fine story with a satisfyingly plausible ending.
