A rather dark story of Xena and Gabrielle traveling through fields of dead soldiers in their search for the Warlord who caused the soldiers' deaths.
This story was riveting and dark and forlorn and incredibly well written. A sombre story that absorbs you in it's sorrowfulness. It's the kind of story that will stay with you long after you've read thousand more Xena stories. One you will always remember - Karon Reiter - Aug-23-2009    Update: I just re read this story and it occurred to me the impact a story like this would have had on Xena canon, most especially in fan fiction writing, had the writers or creators done an episode similar to this so that they could flesh out Xena's character more in revealing the turbulence and anguish that lies beneath her self-controlled and aloof demeanor, confirming and validating her conflicting dark emotions, and making her character more nuanced, rather than keeping her a bit on the light-weight side, which the show opted for more often, making her way too 21st Century rather than the Greek Tragic figure she was. - kazy - Sep-10-2011
