Parnell is one of the few "real writers" in the xenaverse, who is not just interested in writing sex scenes between Xena and Gabrielle. The plot is amazing, the relationship between X and G is realistic, not all roses and lilies, there's fine psychology and great character development. Fanfics are usually the work of well-intended-but-not-always-good writers.. well, M. Parnell is a GREAT writer! - Claude - Jan-01-2014 This is such a good plot, so thoughtfully organized...it is about X and G in a life and death situation, with no false romanticism, no artificial bravado...just two people trying to survive and remain human in the process.. I loved how there are no supernatural forces, no Aphrodite showing up..just X worrying about building a house to keep them warm, or get enough food for the winter..and then the really touching thoughts about making sure G has friends to talk to, and people to tell her stories to.. in a way, this is more romantic than any mushy declaration...Never have I seen X and G so human, so understandable in their humanity, maybe not likeable all the time, but definitely someone we can relate to.
