Birdie (Robin of the Warrior and Bard) is the young adolescent daughter of our favorite Warrior and Bard in a light Conqueror setting. Birdie struggles with the Yin and Yang of having the talents and flaws of her unusual parents come together in her single complicated body and psyche, not to mention trying to cope with some typical adolescent angst. She's either fighting or writing. It's never boring. And she has the best parents in the Xenaverse.
What a delight this story is! Birdie is the perfect preteen daughter of our two hero's Xena and Gabrielle. This story will warm your heart, and keep a smile on your face through-out the read...it did mine! It makes you want more at the end...I can't wait to read the next part in the series..I enjoyed the addition of all of Onesock's new characters to the mix....especially Zephyr, the little black fox, ...is there such a thing? Birdie's back and this time her challenge is to live through six months (six moons) apart from Rachelle. She has also been "grounded for life" after her adventures in the story "Gone", but Birdie's boundaries are never too harsh; her famous parents make certain she is kept very busy. Meanwhile, Zephyr's son, Rain, is learning to communicate with Rach in similar fashion to how Zephyr works with Birdie. Both are gifts of Artemis. Singer, another miraculous gift from Artemis grows within Gabrielle, and she can already understand and speak a great deal with a chosen few members of her family.

I have read each of the stories in the Birdie series. It is a beautifully well written story line. I especially love the fact that the story is through the eyes of Xena and Gabrielle's daughter. I am the mother of a 12 year old and can relate with the struggles they face parenting an adolescent.
