This is a collection of brief snapshots. The link between the snapshots is that they are all from a writers perspective and deal with the theme of inspiration (sometimes in a roundabout way).
Just found this author, and I'm so very glad I did. So beautifully written. What a refreshing deviation from the usual 'girl gets girl' stories. - Anonymous - Apr-06-2010

I absolutely love this collection of short snippets into a writers mind. Each snapshot different but each thought provoking and I know they are going to stick with me for a long time. - Niyah - May-31-2013

In post-Armageddon earth, every day brings new dangers. As the Destroyer approaches, the White and her family must escape the wrath of the newest menace to attack their haven.

I read all night until my eyes couldn't focus. Finished up over breakfast. A complex web woven in layers. I want to read it again and again, like watching a movie multiple times to catch more and more of the meaning. Is it soon soon to ask about a sequel? - Dusty - Apr-18-2009

So be it by Rhuarc Black
Original / Uber | Futuristic | Alternative | Drama | Novella - 103 pages | Finished | Mar-10
Falling asleep in your own bed is great. Walking up in a strange new world is not. But what happens when you realise it is not a dream or a joke and rescue will not arrive?
I voted for this one in the writing contest. Futuristic yet primitive setting. Compelling characters, excellent writing. Some of the images have been stuck in my mind for days. Nice work! - offhermeds - Mar-16-2010

I thought this was a winner!!! Interesting handling of an interesting premise. Don't miss this one. - Anonymous - Mar-17-2010

Thanks Rhuarc Black for a phenomenal story. - Dusty - Mar-17-2010

**** SPOILER ALERT **** hmm.. no sequel? i guess not. good read but sad ending. ~sniff~ - bella - Mar-21-2010

**** SPOILER ALERT **** I liked it but an explanation is missing. And the end is a downer - Anonymous - Mar-22-2010

**** SPOILER ALERT **** Fast paced. Free of useless prose. Makes you feel like you're there. Makes you think. Shocking & abrupt ending that leaves you wanting more, nevertheless it's an understandable & plausible ending. Totally engrossing read. - IB - Mar-22-2010

This is a wonderful story, well thought-out, without trying to impress with big sci-fi/fantasy ideas and still managing to be unique and thought-provoking. I read it in one sitting and recommend for others to check it out.

I'm only sorry that I didn't manage to read all the stories from the first Athenaeum Challenge in the one month time, and so I didn't vote. If I had, So Be It would have been among my top three favourites. - M. - Mar-26-2010

One of my top three choices - would have liked to know more and have the story continued. - bookgeek - Mar-29-2010

I definitely recommend this. It's as mentioned by another reviewer, thought provoking, interesting and really well written. If you start, just don't get put off by the first few pages because you'll miss out!! - Anonymous - Apr-01-2010

Primitive Futuristic - Ooohhhh I love these kind of stories. Good Job - Anonymous - Apr-20-2010

love it - Anonymous - May-19-2010

Loved the story. - rosii59 - May-29-2010

Finally a fresh sci-fantasy story! Unique concept and the story and characters remain with you for a while. - Jean - Sep-10-2010

That was a terrific story. Wish I knew why they were taken. Yes... a sequel would be lovely. Lots of gaps to explore. Rhuarc - I've enjoyed all your stories. - Anonymous - Mar-27-2011

Loved it...sequel please? - Anonymous - Jul-25-2011

Beautiful tale - Anna Lei - Sep-21-2011

I have never let the need to rate or review any of the amazing stories I have read on this site before this.... But I just have to say that this story was more than amazing. It took a crazy scifi plot, a gruff, no nonsense, yet scared main character that was determined to be anything but a heroine, and made an entrancing story exploring what it means to be human. So be it..... Indeed. - Jade - Jan-22-2013

I keep coming back and reading this and I can never get enough. Truly a superb story. So different and yet comes together really amazingly. One of my favorite stories ever. - Niyah - May-31-2013

A must read!! Really well written and completely engaging. - Anonymous - Aug-18-2017
