The events are set immediately after MCA/Universal's episode Sacrifice II.
If I could give this a rating of 100 it would be too little. This short story was such a powerhouse of a story. What could have been another wishy washy bland telling of how sad the warrior felt over losing Gabrielle in the episode SACRIFICE II in season three, was turned into one of the few outstanding moving and touching narratives I've read in a long time dealing with Xena's loss. The author's pacing was very affective in drawing out the readers sympathy - and empathy - without it being shmaltzy or maudlin. I certainly teared up while reading it and when a story can make me do that - then it's a winner! - Karon Reiter - Jun-25-2011
