Part 3 of the Vampire Series
Series List: Tasting Desire, Blood Vengeance, Balances
this is just an awesome, highly original vampire series with a good mix of action, character development, romance, sex (which has not been drawn out, but still steamy), and evolving plot. (i highly recommend reading parts 1 and 2 before hitting balances). i'm not much into vampires, this was one of those few ubers that combined all the good elements plus great grammar, decriptions, and knowledge of sentence structure to keep me reading into dawn. - kate - Anonymous - Sep 19th, 2005

A taste of Old Egypt plus Kipling-esc reminiscences plus romantic love make this tale an exiting read, done by a talented author. Not a new story, but one of my alltime favourite ones, that I love to reread once in a while. Don't miss it! - Lesley - Jul 11th, 2003

I spend a lot of my spare time reading so there are stories that I cannot even remember the names of. This is not one of them. Daughter of Egypt is an engaging read that you are sure to enjoy. I did. - Hunter Daniels - Jul 19th, 2003

Fantastic story. I enjoyed every bit of it. Great job. - Bug - Nov 9th, 2003

Bravo, bravo, a work well done. Loved the suspense and passion between the two leading ladies. - B - Apr 23rd, 2005

This story is AMAZING. This is one of those stories that will go on forever. I hope the author writes a sequel!! - Krysta - May 3rd, 2005

I totally agree with Krysta. I vote for a sequel, too! Thanks for the wonderful story. - Terri - Oct 9th, 2005

I love this story! However, it just begs for a sequel... or is that me? Anyhow, someone is begging Shadowriter! - Royuki - Nov-16-2006

This romantic love story was lovely. I could touch the sand, smell the incense and feel the love. A beautiful imaginative tale. - Kali - Nov-21-2006

ABSOLUTELY A BREATHTAKING STORY. I would say this tale should be categorized as literature. It is larger than life, has characters that draw from and illustrate humanity's features, and finds the place where heart and soul meet. This story added another star in the sky. In my heart I will feel that Shayt and Daryl lived together forever, and it makes me happy to imagine the eternity they spend loving each other. Yes, I would rather Shadowriter write her imagination in a sequel, but time always pulls us to different necessities. THANK YOU, Shadowriter! - Azadi - Aug-05-2008

Very good read I really hope there is more of this story I would really like to see what would come next. - Jennifer Lee - Aug-16-2008

I was browsing around, and saw this story. I was in the mood to read something different, and boy did this fit the bill. The characterizations and interactions ring true as if this was a chronicle of the relationship of real people. The dimensions of the characters was excellent, and worked very well with the pacing of the story. I also like the fact that it diverged from commonly used mythology, and it did it really well. I look forward to reading more work by Shadowriter. - Kara - Aug-20-2008

WOW,This is an awesome story and adventure. It keeps you wandering on what's is going to happens next. The romance and feelings expressed in the story are presented with a lot of TLC.
Highly reccomended - xenamary - Aug-22-2008

fantastic

could use a sequle? - Anonymous - Aug-26-2008

I love stories involving immortals and Egypt so this one was right up my alley. I had a different ending in mind, but actually preferred the the writers version. She left you knowing what Bes meant, but not caring at the moment if they would figure it out. Great Sunday afternoon read. - Anonymous - Aug-31-2008

this story is awesome..wish there was a sequel....what do you say shadowriter? - Anonymous - Sep-02-2008

great story. and very unique. i cant help but empathize with the princess though. living eternally. it'll be great if only daryl will ask bes she want to live forever too. that would be great. then i wont feel melancholy. wish you'd add one more chapter or something. heheh.. but still, great story. sequel? - rec - Nov-16-2008

Amazing story...sequel please? - Anonymous - Nov-24-2008

Great story! Beautiful story actually. Very well written! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! - Alice - Jan-16-2010

Great story, very imaginative!! Would like to read more about the further adventures of these great characters - Anonymous - Jan-19-2010

Loved it! Great story, although I too find myself wishing for at least one more chapter, just so that I could feel reassured that Daryl and Shayt will have their forever together. Like most Xenites, the fear of one living alone without the other is just too much to bear .... - Anonymous - Jan-25-2010

Great story!!! Pls do a sequel or several - it will be great to follow these characters - Traveller - Feb-25-2010

Wow, I didn't want this story to end. That, or at least I was wishing there was a second story. I want to see more of these two! :D - Anonymous - Nov-25-2010

Enjoyable story! - JC - Mar-06-2011

I read this story for the first time in Dec of 2001. I've since read it twice and I will probably read it again. It is simply that good. Of the vast amount of stories I've read this is one of the few that I never forgot the title of, nor the general story line. It is always a pleasure to rediscover this fantastic tale. Always. Thank you Shadowriter. - Anonymous - Mar-15-2011

Excellent - Anonymous - Jan-06-2012

I forgot how terrific this was. So glad I decided to re-read it. Why aren't there more stories like this one? - GB - Nov-30-2012

I REALLY HOPE THAT YOU WILL DO
A SEQUEL OR MAYBE EVEN MORE!!!!????????
I WOULD LOVE TO READ ABOUT THEIR ADVENTURES
IN THE FUTURE!!!!!
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!!!!!!!! - Te` - Nov-28-2014

This was an excellent story that kept me thoroughly entertained throughout each section. The flow of the story was phenomenal and not seen very often in fiction. This isn't just a fiction, this is a novel. This is a story that should have a sequel of discovery for both characters. It's been a few years. I feel you should write one by now! :) - B. Jackson - May-05-2015

Tale from the Haunted Web (A) by Shadowriter
Original / Uber | Modern | Alternative | Horror | Very Short Story - 7 pages | Finished | Oct-04
Cast: Kara
Links: The Academy Of Bards
The ad originally caught Kara's eye because it was a black square on a white background. The web page it sat on listed Halloween sale items from local merchants. Kara had already finished her decorations, but decided to look anyway. After all, it was her first Halloween in her new house, and it couldn't hurt to have add a few more pumpkins or hanging skeletons. But the ad that had grabbed her attention wasn't for anything that she could hang, or carve, or even buy. It was a link to another website...
Cute tongue-in-cheek poke at the goofy websites out there. Sexy ghosts, hmm? This is a great quickie to go with lunch. - Taleweaver - Feb 6th, 2005

Hehehe, cute story! - Anonymous - Sep-01-2008
