This was a wonderfully woven story that if anyone had told me it was a fairly tale written by the Grimms Brothers or Hans Christian Anderson I would believe it. It was amazingly executed as if the story had been past down through time. This is a wonderful achievement that sHaYcH has written. I include the sequel as well in this review, "CAT SCRATCH FEVER". It will leave you wondering why some of these bards don't get the recognition they deserve. In lieu of all the cheesy comedies the writers wrote for the series, The Cat's Meow (and its sequel) wallows in obscurity. Very tragic what is past off as respectable and winning stories. "For Him The Bells Toll"; "The King of Assassins"; "The Quill is Mightier"; "In Sickness and in Hell"; "Key to the Kingdom"; "If The Shoe Fits"; "Little Problems"; "Lyre, Lyre"; "Punch Lines"; "Married with Fishsticks" (The worst); "Kindred Spirits"(the worst); "Old Ares Had A Farm" - it was endless the bad comedies they made. This love story is surrounded by the most cruel an inhumane treatment that mankind has ever brought to the world. There is enslavement, torture, atrocities to women. HOWEVER, like the Phoenix, out of the ages flies the most beautiful love story I've read. It is in the middle of the story and it is so powerful that you cannot see what lies to the sides. It is believed that the way to enlightenment is through love and insight, this story illustrates it. A bow to the writer and those who had a hand in it. My hats off to you.
