I just happened to read this while it was raining and thundering outside. If I could be doing anything right now, I'd like to do exactly what S. Lee wrote in her letter. But... who wouldn't? ;) - MSAnderson - Apr 10th, 2005

What a nailbiter!! This story is even better than the first! The beginning put me on edge and was heartbreaking, but the ending was the perfect balm. I had tears by the time I was done reading this. I've read all of S. Lee's work and I think this is the best yet. - JL - Nov 17th, 2002

Ms. O'Connor Goes To Washington by S. Lee
Original / Uber | Futuristic | Alternative | Romance (alt) | Novella - 129 pages | Finished | Jun-02
Cast: Jordan, Cynthia, Laura
Honors/Awards:  #92 in 2002
Jordan O' Connor had waited for this day her entire life. Here she was on primary day, surrounded by her closest friends and her family, waiting to see if she would be the next Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate. The room held its breath as it was announced over the television that she had indeed won the nomination. A surge of adrenaline rushed through her veins. Laura, her best friend and campaign manager, hugged her as they looked at each other with both fear and relief. Jordan moved away from the crowd and sat down to take in the events of the night. It had been a tough primary and now the hard work had paid off. It was also just beginning. She looked around the room, and realized she had everything she ever wanted. She had two beautiful kids; a son who played football for the University of Texas and a daughter who was about to graduate from High School with honors. Jordan was the first open lesbian in the state of Texas to run for the U. S. Senate. She had it all. All except the one person who truly made her complete. That was lost...or was fate about to give her a second chance?
I just finished re-reading this fabulous story last night and found I enjoyed it even more the second time! It has something for everyone...romance...love...loyalty...suspense...intrigue...and, most of all the hope that politicians like Jordan O'Connor really do exist and are voicing our concerns! - Michelle - Jan 12th, 2003

I too have read this story 2 times. The second time took me longer, there was more to look at, look for. It is a riveting romantic drama, chock full of dirty politics in the race to win, and behind the scene's of running a campaign. Ms. O'Connor's loyalty and honor to country, the citizens of the State of Texas, and family only endear her to the voter's, until her past is brought to light unfavorably. This story proves that the means don't justify the end. It is a fast read in that you won't be able to put it down. It'll keep you glued to the page. And it screams: sequel. When I see a candidate that embodies all of Jordon O'Connor's traits - I'll become a resident of that state and vote. - Maria - Mar 1st, 2003

It's a beautiful story, it took me some time to get fully into the story, but once I was on it it's incredible. Everyone should read it. - Raf_51 - May-24-2010

Really great story xxx - SD - Jun-29-2015

Read this vibrantly romantic tale and find out! It's must-read uber and a timeless love story that makes the heart sing!
I sear S. Lee's tales are like Lays potato chips...nobody can read just one...or re-read just one, for that matter! It's cold in Missouri, folks, and "Summer Love" was just what I needed to warm me up! Take two four-year crushes, mix them together with a summer's chance of fulfillment, shake liberally with the choices and challenges facing all potential relationships, and you have one very hot toddy, with a decidedly warm aftertaste! Enjoy! - Michelle - Jan 14th, 2003

Part 4 of the Kat and Beth Series
Series List: She Is, Three Days, Love Has No Pride, That Friend Of Mine
This is the final story in the Kat and Beth series. S. Lee has definitely outdone herself in this one, where the love and romance hit a wonderful zenith, and growth and family are showcased in the most romantic and soulful way. The song lyrics used throughout masterfully enhance this tale just at the right moment!
READ THIS STORY!!! If you don't, you will miss one of the most romantic, warm, funny, inspiring and rewarding tales ever written!!! You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll shout for joy, and most of all, you will find yourself celebrating all the best things in life!!! S. Lee has, quite simply, outdone herself!!! Bravo!!! - Michelle - Feb 19th, 2003

ANOTHER MUST READ BY S. LEE......If you are looking for action and danger, go rent a Bond movie but if its romance that you desire, this is the story for you. You will be caught up in the imagery of the love and passion shared by these two women. You will gaze upon your mate and realize she inspires the same devotion that these two share. This installment should be viewed upon as a HOW TO in the romance department. And if reading this does not inspire your mate, a 2X4 upside the head, may be the only other alternative. It's worth missing sleep for. For those lacking the imagination....TAKE NOTES...you can only benefit from the knowledge.... ;) - Topaz - Feb 20th, 2003

In the final install of the Kat and Beth series, your heart will melt from the romance that is found here. S. Lee has, once again, outdone herself telling the tale of Kat and Beth's trials, their love, their family and the belief in their future. The growth and depth of these characters make it impossible for you NOT to get completely sucked into their story. S. Lee's writing is wonderful! The love scenes will melt your soul, the song lyrics are well placed and the dialogue is meaningful and very entertaining. This series should not be missed! By anyone.High praise should go to S. Lee - Excellent work! - Di Bauden - Feb 20th, 2003

(Thanks bardeyes for the how to) A MUST READ by S. LEE. THAT FRIEND OF MINE is great. Very æwÆomantic. Funny. Heart warming. And KatsÆ dating ideas should be part of a manual; canÆt miss type of thing (not to mention yummy). Kat, Beth, and family are very real. Spew alert in a certain conversation between Kat and Beth, and then with both daughters. Hysterical, cute, adorable. I love these characters. From the beginning in THREE DAYS, the vision of Kat in black, long black leather coat, black Stetson and all those special songs, made me want LOVE HAS NO PRIDE instantly. So, to fully get the feel for the wonderful ending of this amazing ride of a series, you must read the journey that got them here. Gut wrenching. The progression tears at you until the 3rd and final installment. YouÆll smile in the end though. Believe me. - Maria - Feb 21st, 2003
