Talk about a HOT story!!! I enjoyed this story very much, but it seemed to end to abruptly. I wanted MORE! - TC - Oct 6th, 2003

MUCH better written than most, truly enjoyable, not just due to it's memorable heat, but for the bard's skill with language! - Gingertea - Aug-31-2008

Save this story! This is one of the very few uniquely written stories in which the author knows about ancient Greece or did some serious research on it. The only other writers I can think of off-hand who can do this is Day (none of those stories are on The Athenaeum, sadly), Lori Meyers, and Brigit Morgan. There are more, I just can't remember. The attire described in this story that is worn by the characters are what they would actually be wearing had they lived in ancient Greece, not what we see on the TV show. The emotions and feelings expressed reads like prose in some parts that could easily have come out of a Sappho's poetry. I felt transported to a different time as I read this, with it's elusive and mysterious tone. The sex was extraordinarily arousing and also quite mysterious too. A bit illusory, in fact, even though it was vivid. Was there a suggestion of Xena being a bit of a hermaphrodite or was that part of the magic of the story? I loved this short story. Quite impressive. More, please. - Karon Reiter - Jul-16-2011
