An old friend of Xena's convinces the Warrior and bard to help her search for powerful artifact called The Chalace Of Blood. Sequel to Cause and Effect.
I really enjoyed this story. It would have made a great episode. Or two or three parter. The author had such a wonderful imagination in connecting Xena's past from the show's influential characters that were similar to La Mao's power and development on Xena's individuality to uncover why she is so complex. It also showed a doubtful and reticent Gabrielle who was also being effected by her own growth, questioning her feeling of well-being over her newly gained skills and abilities - but then all my enthusiasm and recommendation for the story was shot to Tartarus when I discovered this very exciting story which was at the verge of its climax, ended, incomplete. It was never finished. The author did put in a note at the end asking for feedback, whether she should finish it and how much she was enjoying it to the point where it was taking her away from her own business. But when I wrote her - and I had three different emails, they were all returned. So I would venture to guess, quite accurately, since this story is now 13 year old, it was written in 1998, that it will remain incomplete. Very disappointing. I hope she reads this and completes it. - Karon Reiter - Jun-20-2011
