A Warlord captures Xena and it's up to Gabrielle and her Amazons to save her friend.
This is one of the very first fan fiction stories that I have read back when it was first posted. And because of it, I became more hooked with the Xenaverse. I have yet to read it a second time but I remember it well. Phopas has such a strong grip with the characters of Xena and Gabrielle in the early days of the series that she describes them to perfection. A very good novel with everything that one can wish for. Also look for its sequel. Highly recommended! She has the Xena and Gabrielle relationship down so spot on. The love that Xena has for Gabrielle is depicted as so powerful and so absolute, no matter what the obstacles, what the danger, that you can't help as a reader being struck by its force. And that's compounded by some very original story telling throughout the series with a lot of humor thrown in, especially the last story, Honeymoon in Tartarus. Damn, this series has everything, it's hot, it's funny, it's dramatic, it's magical and mysterious and mythical and best of all, it's written really well. This is a great read, but you need to start with about that kiss first. The story line and characterization is wonderful. The series flows well,although Vacation in Tartarus is a bit odd for the storyline. - cpo - Feb-12-2011

Extraordinary writing! One of the early fictional works that I came across and still could remember clearly what the story is about. I became an avid reader of fanfiction because of this wonderful story full of romance, mystery, and action. My highest recommendations!
