In this case Rook (is that even a Greek name?) is not interested in Gabrielle and that's the only part of the story where I thought it meandered too far away from the main characters where the author spends too much time on Rook's love interest and not enough on Xena and Gabrielle's romance. JMO. There is imaginative and amusing sex and a mystery within the plot here as well, with mystics, Gods, and warlords, along with an abusive parent, and stories about Xena's sexual past, all keeping the story going at a steady intriguing pace.
