"Curve" is a great story about two women that meet, resist love, then plunge in with both feet. They have their ups and downs, tread through great conflict, and nearly part company. The ending is satisfying, the story is entertaining and beyond measure. I hear there MIGHT be a sequel too! Zuke is a gifted, under-heralded writer of great scope. You won't be disappointed with any of her works! - Taleweaver - Oct 23rd, 2002 OMG! What an absolutely amazing story! A cop and a lawyer meet in an elevator...both attracted to each other, but neither one willing to take the first step. But when Moocher (you just have to love this woman!) steps in on behalf of her friend Maggie, OMG! the sparks really fly! Anne is smitten instantly and these two are off on a most incredible adventure of discovery, love, life...But make sure you have the tissues ready! There are tons of spew alerts, but for every spew there is a tear-jerker h/c scene not too far behind! Zuke provides a brilliant balance of real life ups and down, human dialogue and characters you just can't get enough of!!!! Is there really a sequel? Is this published yet? Please, this needs to be a real book! - Ann - Oct 24th, 2002 Excellent story that is beautifully told. The characters are fully realized and believable. The humour is just right.Fantastic read! - kj - Jan 24th, 2004 Oh god, I really laughed tears. I'm a huge fan of Zuke's, and the "Dear Booger Letters" are a laugh! Short, sweet, sometimes filled with bitterness (and vomit). "Dear Booger Letters" are the answer to what a lesbian does on vacation. A must-read! - Taleweaver - Oct 23rd, 2002 Loved the story. I would give the author a handshake if I could. The descriptions within hold more realism than I've come to expect from others in the same genre. Too bad it is so short. The story at its current stage would have been a great premise for a longer story. - Kayla - Feb-20-2007 I really liked this little tale. It did what short stories should do and left me wondering about the characters and their past and future lives. Zuke gives you just an inch or two to try and piece together the Truck Driver and the Hooker's obviously pitiful existance when they meet on a cold Christmas Eve in the middle of nowhere. Can these two lost souls give each other the solace they both clearly need? I hope Zuke will continue this tale so we have the opportunity to find out. - Sai - Feb-27-2007 I loved this short story. Very good characterization, sometimes blunt and sometimes surprisingly gentle. Great writing, Zuke. - k alexander - Mar-09-2007 This is one of the best short stories I've read. FUNNY,SWEET,FUNNY,WITTY,FUNNYYYY!!!!!!! - Katrina - Feb 22nd, 2004 good storyline with a great sense of humor. the author would push a funny line one more bit sometimes, and instead of making it too much, it would add just enough to make that smile a full-out grin or an outright laugh. very 'mature' humor, for want of a better word - not silly, though there's certainly nothing wrong with that either. definitely worth a read. - linda l. - May 6th, 2004 dead link.
