This was a heartwarming story that made me laugh out loud. Having taken my twin nieces and their younger sibling places in their youth I could really relate to Randy. Well worth the read. - R. Nolan Mar 29th, 2004 |
Great story!! Absolutely funny and charmingly warm. I really hope French & Fry will get a sequel where French's racoon-like temperamental tenacity pairs up with Fry's equally bandit-like inquisitive nature to solve some Michellin-guide fraud going on in restaurants. Not as 2 strangers in one tent, but as a strange, but passionate couple in a relationship! >Go on Creme Brulee, get cooking!!! - letterwolf Mar 29th, 2004 |
Poignant. Wonderful. I actually said "Wow" after I read the last line. - Alicia Mar 27th, 2004 |
A very well written PWP. - E Mar 26th, 2004 |
Well written, interesting characters and engaging story ...I'm really enjoying it! - Chris Mar 25th, 2004 |
Just Wow! I was at work crying at my desk. It's powerful and touching. Thank you for sharing this. - Anonymous Mar 25th, 2004 |
I read this only because it was recommeded to me as I wasn't familiar with this bard. Before I knew what time it was, 4 a.m. came and went and I was still too engrossed in this story to go to sleep. What a great time travel story and anyone who enjoys this genre of writing will love it. The climax of it will stun you as it did me. Very well done and now I can't wait to read more of this bard's work. - Blayne Mar 25th, 2004 |
I thought this was an interesting idea, to follow what happened after Xena's redemtion to the men she lead before she changed. I liked how it played out and her reaction to what the men had done after she left with Hercules. Well done. - Ron Mar 24th, 2004 |
I always enjoy stories written by this bard, and once again she delivers. I loved this story! A powerful, humorous, and moving read, it may not be for everyone, but it is a fascinating Gabrielle and Xena relationship story - with a twist! Thank you XLB! - Chris Mar 23rd, 2004 |
I am still waiting for more....hurry!!!!! - taz Mar 23rd, 2004 |
Great stuff! JC's writing gets better and better. - E Mar 22nd, 2004 |
I found this a sweet love story and i really find Dakota quite interesting. I can't wait to read the next part and see what happens next. - Rockie Mar 22nd, 2004 |
This is sweet story. It made me smile more than once. Thanks! - Susan Mar 22nd, 2004 |
Extraordinary story. Tas is a very imaginative bard with excellent writing skills. Her characters and plot are well defined. In addition to providing a breathtaking adventure, discerning readers also come away with an insight and appreciation for the advantages an open society always has over a closed society. Epic, well worth the time. - Yvonne Mar 21st, 2004 |
Though the story is long you don't feel it at all. It is so incredibly well written, I couldn't stop reading! And the last part of it...well...left me without breath for about 15 minutes! Thank sweet Aphrodite that I survived!! But my eyes remain wide open forever after what they read :) - AquariusG Mar 21st, 2004 |
I absolutely LOVED Edge of Nowhere. I am very excited that you are continuing the saga in Path of Thorns. However, I am hesitant to read the story because it is unfinished, and actually barely started. Are you going to finish Path of Thorns..?? If so, soon...??? - Anonymous Mar 19th, 2004 |
SL....(I slacked an forgot to post this) thank you for keeping this alive.... I enjoyed the phone calls an the laughter you've brought to me about these stories!! My Lunch times are even better,as its fun to think of how in the hell you've come up with these twisted an funny things to keep them alive....tanks again for keeping these going. - BRAT Mar 19th, 2004 |

Very sweet story Shadylady. As usual a job very well done. Thanks for sharing the St. Patrick's Day tale with us and thanks for the Ghostly Nudge Series....Best wishes to you on this day and EVERY day... - Stacy Lynn Mar 17th, 2004 |
An excellent "what if" sort of story. I love stories that have Xena and Gabrielle meeting in a different way. Everyone should read it. :) - Bug Mar 17th, 2004 |
Just finished the whole series and I really liked the idea and the way it was developed. What a wonderful idea of creating a family in the middle of science fiction story. I adore Hilda I hope there is a fourth part. - Tar Mar 17th, 2004 |
Oh my god!! I just got out of the shower because this story drove me to it! Fantastic! Finally.. a story for grown-ups and not for the faint at heart. Vertigo write's with a passion and intensity that leaves you breathless. I couldn't read fast enough or catch my breath. Please read "Private Dancer" as a warm up. You won't be sorry. - Califa Mar 16th, 2004 |
This was a really interesting look at the ep and the charahters of Xena and Gabrielle. I really enjoyed it! - Jannie Mar 16th, 2004 |
Just incredible! I loved that one so much that I just couldn't stop smiling :D And what do men really know about us, huh?? - AquariusG. Mar 15th, 2004 |
There is light at the end of the tunnel. Just have to open your eyes from the darkness to see it. Sometimes that is the hardest thing to do. But when you do a peace happens. May peace always find you and be with you. - Anonymous Mar 15th, 2004 |
This has been one of the best - well-written, exciting and interesting characterization, great flow, engaging for the reader - stories I have read in a very long time. Etoh brings the reader, alternately cheering and cringing through this amazingly broad yet limited panorama that is the lives of these women. There are no heroes in this piece but there is heroism a plenty in the lives of these beautiful characters. The only possible shortcoming might be the lack of physical description, something I actually rather enjoyed as I could put the faces I liked on the characters. This story was an all around wonderful experience! Kudos Etoh! - Nyc Mar 14th, 2004 |
A simply spellbinding story. I think this bard truly captured what the young Xena might have been like. The story is also very well written, great style and a real GEM. Currently I've read it at least five times. BRILLIANT!!! - Keshet Mar 14th, 2004 |
Well, I always wondered what happened to Kim after that fiasco with Kerry in the ER series. Now I know! Thanks R. Nolan. You picked it up and made it into a story, giving Kim a place she deserves. - letterwolf Mar 14th, 2004 |
When I stumbled upon this story, I had no idea how prfound it would be. Simply on eof the best I have read period. I enjoy the fact that it's not a 'nice and neat' story and contains many intense depictions of survival of violence without being sensational. Amazing! - BkFaith Mar 14th, 2004 |
I never thought I'd enjoy a conqueror story, but this was out of this world. Suppose I shouldn't have been surprised from the author of the Soul Mates series. I think I might just become a Merpup. More Please. - Keshet Mar 14th, 2004 |
I must agree with Roxy here... a sequel is definately a must! There are few novels that i feel are worthy of a comment, and this is absolutely one of them! A marvelous storyline, i love how they transverse between past and present, the characters are so real... i find that i can easily picture them, which always makes a reading easier! I must say, i am a sucker for a good old heartwrencher, and LJ Maas has produced an excellent example. YOU WILL ALL HERE ME.... DO NOT GO PAST THIS NOVEL. READ IT READ IT READ IT READ IT READ IT READ IT READ IT READ IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once again, a brilliant story. *applause* - Snuff Mar 14th, 2004 |
This is one of those "What If Xena and Gabrielle had met differently" stories. Romantic and hot. - J Mar 13th, 2004 |
I've never really been into Uber...that was before stumbling upon L.A.'s works. I fell in love with the Sara/Chloe series. It was inventive, witty, and poignant...all the things I think great stories should be. The real-life character studies, imbued with just the right amount of humor, had me thinking long after I finished the tales. I'm glad that you feature her (pardon the assumption) works, and thanks for the link to her website. - cyndyn Mar 13th, 2004 |
Not bad at all I like the X-men a great deal It is a shame more do not use the characters on more stories as this is the only one I have read.Love xena and Gabrielle as mutants. - Daydream Mar 13th, 2004 |
Great story - Anonymous Mar 12th, 2004 |
Wow, deep and dark but heartfelt. I could feel the doubt and hopelessness of the character in the story. Thanks for the new read. - Shadylady Mar 12th, 2004 |
Great read! Made me nostalgic for some of those old times of sneaking glances at those cheerleaders and trying to make my move in the same shy ways Palmer did. I loved it! I also liked the secondary characters. Everyone should have had such friends in high school. - Alex Tryst Mar 12th, 2004 |
[This Comment contains spoilers.] Turning tides is a great read. It portrays the helplesness in the maelström of love and sexual attraction/need quite well. Naten could have fleshed out some parts in more detail, added perspective or a bit more conclusion, such as: what of the "sneaky stepbrother"?. His machinations and the plans/deals he apparently made during his vacation are not referred to again further in the story. Perhaps a sequel is in the making? Also the need for anonymous, strongly dominant sex. That, to my mind, could not just disappear overnight, so to speak. But well, those are just my thoughts. I really enjoyed reading it and certainly recommed it to others! Letterwolf - Mar 12th, 2004 |
I really loved this story, I thought that Jackie was fascinating. I thought that was a really good idea to recreate the classic and make it the same and yet so different from the movie. Really good job. To be honest I'd like to see more of these two. - Nattie Mar 11th, 2004 |
Please don't end it in part three. - Anonymous Mar 11th, 2004 [Fan Fiction Editor's Note: Lady J Has assured us that it will continue. J |
[This Comment contains spoilers.] Always wondered when someone would do a Relic Hunter/Xena Crossover.Good story. Coulda had at least 1 or 2 fight scenes in it. Liked the way you made Sydney turn out to be xena. - Cyn Mar 10th, 2004 |
Absolutely wonderful story. Would deserve to printed at once. - letterwolf Mar 10th, 2004 |
I really enjoyed this story. There are times when you want to just read a story about a romance... without misunderstandings and slapstick. There was some serious drama and a bit of 'thriller' built in, but just enough. My one critique would be that some of the secondary characters were sacrificed for the 'drama' quotient. the family drama was actually just as interesting and there were a few holes left in it in light of the physical drama. It's like the story took off in a different direction than where the focus began. But all in all... totally enjoyable and a 'straight on 'til morning' read. - RoxyTrek Mar 9th, 2004 |

First of all we would like to thank all those nice people who sent us such lovely feedback on Chronicles of Darkness and our Christmas story! You guys totally rock!
Yes, we are still writing. Actually, the sequel to the Christmas story is done as are three more chapters of Chronicles of Darkness and we really, really, really wanted to post that stuff weeks ago, but, we have a big problem. Our former beta reader has no time any more and it seems that we are unable to find a new one. Now, if there is anybody out there who would like to be our beta reader, please tell us at fiur-vlamme@web.de
We really, really, really are getting kind of desperate here!
Thank you for your time, and we hope you all have a nice day!
Fiur and Vlamme
I was so deeply into this story that I read it at work and forgot I was at work. I adore this story, these people have such heart. I really adore this family. I love watching Veba grow and mature and Rickie become softer and even more loving. It was also a really good mystery. Just an excellent story. - Luckie Mar 8th, 2004 |
Captured X&G's characters quite well. Good plot. Will be particularly appreciated by those who enjoy the First Time genre. - Yvonne Mar 7th, 2004 |
I loved this story, It has two things that are very dear to me. It is true love coming at last to two people who had been freinds for a very long time. The other is that it pointed out a state of sadness in the world that these two people did there part to correct. A perfect story:) - milly Mar 7th, 2004 |
Really enjoyed this one. KG's stuff is always wonderful but this was certainly fun. Would have made a very nice novella or even novel if the secondary characters had been fleshed out. However, everyone was quite three dimensinoal and the read was a pleasure. Would be nice to see these two again. Reggie's transformation was quite remarkable and it would be interesting to see what happens in the long run. Her past is just itching to come back and bite... well, you get the idea. - Roxytrek Mar 7th, 2004 |
I absolutely loved this story. It's a great read for anyone who is looking for something to read on a day like this. This story is absolutely beautiful and proves that love can cross time. - Alise Mar 7th, 2004 |
This is one of my favorite stories. A true romance with real life issues and a very satisfying ending. A well written story that would do well to be complimented by a sequel. - RoxyTrek Mar 7th, 2004 |
Come what may,we have all been down this road. Its a long painful journey, but they say it gets better with time. And time is what we have my dear! Never forget,All for one,one for ALL! - Wizzy Mar 6th, 2004 |
You know, I just loved this story. Very sweet, practically angst free... Well done ladies. A wonderful read. It's how High School should have gone, for all of us. If I had any critique, it would be that the secondary characters needed more depth. Would have transformed this from a novella to a novel, but didn't detract from my enjoyment one bit. - RoxyTrek Mar 6th, 2004 |
I just have to say," Wow". Great story kept you on your toes. Very different from others. Anymore said and i'd give the whole story away. - Cyn Mar 6th, 2004 |
Excellent! short story. It was refreshing to read and truely brings us back to where we came from and what we are to be like to each other. Betrayal is a lack of faith and trust and a word that should not exsist in any human realationships. Job well done! It does make you step back and re-think about yourself and life. Thank you for the nudge Lady J. :) - sunny Mar 6th, 2004 |
Brilliant as usual! Gardner's stories captivate you from the get go! I only have one thing to say..finish finish..finish..!The conclusion of "An Affair of Love" would be nice to have also. Author..Author!! - Califa Mar 5th, 2004 |
I laughed till I cried. Who are you and how do you know me? Great job Lady J. - Denise Mar 5th, 2004 |
Deep and lyrical. - Gina Mar 5th, 2004 |
I've been reading this book again lately and I was hooked. Just like the first time when I couldn't stop reading and finished it in one weekend. There are some many twists and turns that you will think "oh, i figured it out" more than once just to read you're totally wrong on the next page. It always reminds me on classic Hollywood drama from the old days with all it's charme. It has everything from mystery, fame, love, family and life. One of my all time favorit books! - Mindwalker78 Mar 5th, 2004 |
I never wanted to read fan fic stories involving FIN or Post FIN. I saw many recommendations for this story and after looking into it, found it to be around 600 pgs. With that many pages, this story had to have some substance. I had hoped anyway. So I took a chance. Luckily, I wasn't disappointed; in fact, my socks were totally blown off. This story is simply, in a word, brilliant. I stayed awake so many nights until my eyes would betray me and close from exhaustion. The characters introduced in this tale were so rich, I couldn't wait to read their storylines in addition to following Gabrielle and Xena's. I grew to adore Zara and was so happy Gabrielle had befriended her. Once more, the author gave historical facts before each section; I actually learned about other cultures while reading this story. There is way too much to discuss in this type of arena, but do yourselves a favor and give this story a read. It truly is incredible. Fantastic job, Crystal. - Di Bauden Mar 4th, 2004 |
You've got 2 in 1!!! Xena & Gabrielle making love on the space station in the far future! And boy, is it hot! - Kamila Mar 4th, 2004 |
i always thought that herc and xena belonged together if only they had explore the possibilities. i don't think gabby and xena were lovers i think they were very close friends. i also loved this story if only xena and herc could be united in a movie i give this a thumbs up - onika auguste Mar 4th, 2004 |
OMG! This is so funny and so real to life! You've captured office politics with style. I love the characters and I hope we'll get to see more of them in the future! Go Lady J! - Kaia Mar 4th, 2004 |
That was one of the most inspiring and moving things I have ever read. Thank you for expressing the heartbreak of betrayal so well. - Am Not a Moose Mar 4th, 2004 |
This story is powerful. I thought the Bible references were right on. If you enjoy reading something that makes you feel and think do not miss this one. - A. Noni Mouse Mar 4th, 2004 |
This story effected me the same way as Phone Call. I was moved and can feel your tears. This story is poignant and heart wrenching. Lady J whether you write comedy or something thought provoking you always do an outstanding job. - Jazz Mar 3rd, 2004 |
I really think this was a very special story. It said so much about Xena and Gabrielle's relationship. It's very beautiful. - Carrie Mar 3rd, 2004 |
What a great surprise this morning to see part 2 of Business Trip. One thing I can honestly say is I hope it does not end in part 3. - Judi Mar 3rd, 2004 |
This story seems to be incomplete. It is to be continued, per the note at the bottom of part 5. I was disappointed by that fact, as I was really interested in reading the completed story. - Anonymous Mar 2nd, 2004 |
Excellent. - Teri Mar 2nd, 2004 |
This story is so great. I can't wait till the next part. You have done one fanatic job on it Lady J. - Debbie Dee Mar 2nd, 2004 |
T. I reread this story many times over the past few days and again several times today. I am sorry that you have had to go through an experience as described within this tale. You are one of the finest, loyal, and most compassionate woman I have ever met. I find it an honor to call you friend. You have demonstrated your faithfulness and understanding time after time to me. I will always have you covered should you ever need me beside you. Thank you, my friend, for sharing your story with us. - Shadylady (#2) Mar 1st, 2004 |

wish she would finished the story. try to write to the author but her email is no longer valid. - dot Mar 1st, 2004 |
Aaahhh loved it! Just loved it! Short, not mushy and straight to the point ;) Everything is there so you better read it now! - Kamila Feb 29th, 2004 |
INCREDIBLE read!!! A must read! This story has it all, fear, love, sadness, anger. Your feelings will run the whole ladder of emotions. The words that melted into sentences to make the paragraphs and the finally the story, flowed over my skin like silk. I did not want to stop reading. Thank you for a wonderful read. - K. Hart Feb 27th, 2004 |
Another FANTASTIC read!! Again, any emotion that the author wrote about the reader will feel it as if it was their own emotion. So great are the words and the way this series is written, you just want to keep coming back for more. Can't wait to start on the third in this series. Thank you again for one of the most enjoyable stories/series I have ever read. - K. Hart Feb 27th, 2004 |
Once again, Susanne M. Beck has out done herself. If you have not read this trilogy, I suggest you read it from the first word of the first story to the last word of the last story. If you are looking for a story that stands out from all the rest, the Angel and Ice series is the one you are looking for. Thanks again for an incredible journey. - K. Hart Feb 28th, 2004 |
Nothing better than sitting bored in an IM with you. God only knows what developes. From spiders to making out in a cooler. I wonder what is gonna happen next time we get bored. Heheheehe when it happens it will be one heck of a ride and a great story. - T. Stratton Feb 27th, 2004 |
Great story. I wish there were more stories like this set after AFIN. - Sarah Feb 26th, 2004 |
Heartache, grief and joy so lyrically embodied should not be missed! - Anonymous Feb 25th, 2004 |
Another excellent offering from Larisa -- she just keeps getting better. I enjoyed the mystery -- didn't even come close to who the bad guy was. I always wait till things is done before starting as I know nothing will get done till I am done with the story. - Linda Feb 25th, 2004 |
This was a great story! I never read a better X and G, It was really great to see Gabrielle as the hero of the peice. I loved this. Thank you. - Jonnie Feb 25th, 2004 |
What a sweet story, crafted like a rose unfurling slowly revealing itself to the delight of all. Very well written - Lari Feb 25th, 2004 |
Softball and sexual tension? Of Course! Characters are beautifully rounded out. Story line flows. Heat of passion is tremendous. There is some well written mother/daughter angst. Good READ! - jlnickymaster Feb 24th, 2004 |
This story is great! Visualizations are perfect. I could almost feel the flexing leg muscles during the "lap dance". Now if this comment doesn't get someone to read this story...nothing will! Thanks for the great short! - jlnickymaster Feb 24th, 2004 |
This story was a charming story... - Anonymous Feb 24th, 2004 |
I really have enjoyed this writer's Conqueror series. I was delighted to learn that she is equally skilled in writing an uber tale. Don't miss this one! - LDP Feb 24th, 2004 |
Damn, how did I miss reading this last week. Funny.....funny.....funny. Had tears streaming down my eyes and nearly wet my pants laughing so hard. WANT MORE!!!!!!! - Anonymous Feb 24th, 2004 |
Thank you Shadylady for opening your heart felt tell for all of us to read. I too have been through a similar emotional encounter. It does drain the energy out of you to be the one to always carry the burden of love. I had to learn to let go. - Anonymous Feb 24th, 2004 |
Very cute, makes ya feel all warm and smooshy inside =o) - Willow Feb 24th, 2004 |
This is SUCH a beautifully written story!! It's short, punchy but had everything in it to make it a MUST READ! - Anonymous Feb 24th, 2004 |
I just finished reading Curse of the Conqueror and I give it high marks. A tongue tied Conqueror looking for "love" in all the wrong places and unable to talk about, um... well, you know... makes for a very funny story. Add to that an excellent plot and you have a winner. - Patricia Feb 23rd, 2004 |
~ Lynn Ames ~ I wanted to let you know, that The Price of Fame is coming out in print in less than two weeks! Not only that, but it is already available for pre-order (actual publication date is March 1st). You can find purchase information on my website at www.lynnames.com. All you have to do is click on the book cover (or on published pieces). Or, you can go directly to www.starcrossedproductions.com.
I don't know about you, but there's something about holding an actual book in my hands that feels so good. Not only that, but you'll want to be sure you get the print edition, since it contains 23 new scenes that were not in the online version!
I hope you'll come along for the ride. FYI, I am currently writing the sequel to TPoF, which I hope you're going to love. If any of you are planning on attending the BardCon in Orlando in May, I hope you'll stop by and say hello.
Thanks for your support,

FUNNY,SWEET,FUNNY,WITTY,FUNNYYYY!!!!!!! - Katrina Feb 22nd, 2004 |
The synopsis is dead-on. This story had everything! DJWP weaves one heck of a tale. - Anonymous Feb 22nd, 2004 |
Thank you for finding the words I was unable to! To let others know that even tho they tried sometimes love is not enough...what pain there is, fades in time. But not the memories of lovin someone who cant love back...I hope to again one day trust enough to love unconditionaly...again TY for saying what I could not! - MEMEMEEE Feb 22nd, 2004 |
Well written, and a very well thought out piece of work. The only problem I have with the story is how Gabrielle is portrayed, I hope that the next chapter is kinder to the Bard. - Kez Feb 22nd, 2004 |
I LAUGHED! Be it humor or pathos, Kam writes a great story. - Anonymous Feb 20th, 2004 |
Once again I am almost speachless. Only one word keeps repeating over and over again.. WOW WOW WOW ... - #1 Feb 20th, 2004 |
Another wonderfully written tale by Ali. Even without the 'happy ending' follow-up, I believe that this story is one of her best. Those who can't see the love that shines throughout the tale and only look at the 'supposed' unhappy ending, are missing the boat (or a few screws). It left me thinking that there HAD to be a sequel, love always prevails (at least in fiction) and there was a sequel!!!I think it fits the Valentines's genre perfectly - well done oh bardly one! - Lori Feb 19th, 2004 |
I want to thank Shadylady, T. Stratton and Wizzy. I got a chance to write a great story with three very special people. I could not believe some of the stuff we could come up with. It was fun and a joy to write this story with them. Hope we can all do it again someday. I am very proud and honored to call them my friends. - Debbie Dee Feb 19th, 2004 |
More Lara and Sarah please! I loved this series I really want to read more of it. This was great story I was on the edge of my seat till the end. Well done! - janie Feb 19th, 2004 |

The Search for Inspiration is a refreshing look inside the mind of a young writer struggling to come to terms with her life and her sexuality. Wonderful stuff especially if you like reading journals. - Spawn Feb 18th, 2004 |
OH MY GOD!!!!!! I lucked across this just rambling thru The A. This is the funniest story that I have read in a long time. I have laughed so hard that my sides hurt. Where did these warped minds come up with so many hilarious adventures. It is a MUST READ if you have not done so already. - JR Feb 18th, 2004 |
I want to thank Shadylady, DD and Wizzy. This story was awesome to write in several ways. First and formost I got a chance to do it with three very special people. I know in my heart people will laugh their asses off. From Mandy and Gordie and their antics to Silver and Venus and well their boobies. Then Lion and Kiki and the love that grows between them. Thanks ladies you are the best of the best! - T. Stratton Feb 16th, 2004 |
This is for my fellow bards who co-authored Who's Out In Africa. I have never experienced a greater pleasure than working with the three of you on writing WOIA. This has been a true labor of love and hilarity, seeing how there were times that I was so overcome with laughter I could not see how to type. The joy that this story has brought to me can not be expressed. Yet the friendship writing together is unparallel. To each of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for co-authoring one of the funniest tales I have had the pleasure to write. - Shadylady Feb 16th, 2004 |
It was an honor working with all of you on this..from snappin turtles to visine water to gettin stuck in a tree...Id do it all over again just for the laughs we shared over this one! Thank you for allowing me to take part in this crooked round robin! - Wizzy Feb 16th, 2004 |
One of the best I've read. I feel for each of the character, especailly Jewl. I hope you had made her life happier. One thing I want to know is how old are Billie and Jewl. I'm looking forward to the rest of the story. Thank you. - b.mccracken Feb 15th, 2004 |
I loved this story, It was beautiful and magical. It showed that greatest power is the power of love. - Crystal Feb 15th, 2004 |
This was such a sweet loving tale of the making of a family. Thank you it's a beautiful story, and I really needed it. - Toni Feb 15th, 2004 |
I loved this story of deep connection. It shows that no matter how far into the future we may go we will always be human. With that deep need and connection to each other. - Toni Feb 15th, 2004 |
I am so thankful you continued this....for these stories are for my pleasure..lol... no, I am glad you keep writting..I cant wait to see the trouble they get into on St.Patty's day...LMAO.... This is the best story to read for Valentines day. I want a ghost of my own. How can you help falling in love with Veba and her Rickie. - joanie Feb 12th, 2004 |
I really enjoyed the story. Rich businesswoman with no life but work meets poor girl very accently, literally. Definately sexual tension. - chanter Feb 11th, 2004 |
Well my friend you have captured one of the deepest emotions that a person feels at some point or sometimes at several points in their lives. Fantastic piece thank you for sharing it with us. - T. Stratton Feb 10th, 2004 |
Possibly her best... - Autolickis Feb 10th, 2004 |
I loved this sweet sequel. I especially love the part with Aries and Endora. Its a fun read. Thank you so! - Tonie Feb 10th, 2004 |
Well well well and welcome new bard :D What a way to start here in the Athenaeum...with a steamy hot sex story!!! This is just what I like... well maybe a wee plot there some place would be nice too, but it truly is what lil' me enjoyes the most;D More please! - A Reader with a huge appetite Feb 10th, 2004 |
This is a story with great emotional depth. It's not that the adventures in between aren't interesting, but what holds it together are the interactions of the characters as they deal with changes in their relationship to each other. It's an excellent piece, well written and thoughtful in its exploration of "What if Xena loved them both?" And it carries the reader through the rollercoaster of the Xena's, Gabrielle's and Ares' dilemma. Like a stone dropped into the pond, there are more ripples than you can shake a stick at. But everything comes back around to the center. If love is true, it finds a way. Enjoy the reading. I did. - Katrina Feb 9th, 2004 |
Very well done. Great character development. Plan some time when you read this, you won't want to stop. I'm hopeing there is a sequel ones of these dyas. - Anonymous Feb 9th, 2004 |
i don't feel hill jack conspiracy is one of her better stories but it is still a good one... then again all of her other stories are great, fantastic, MAGNEFICO! lol so u really can't complain at all.. if you've read this try to read the other stories done by her. you will NEVER ever regret it! i've read them a gazillion times over and they still capture me and pull me in! u rock larisa! - Anonymous Feb 9th, 2004 |
While I've enjoyed the author's other works...this piece made me lean back and sigh. - cyndyn Feb 6th, 2004 |
The story is too short to get into character development...BUT the main character that's doing the telling sure has a way of telling an entertaining tale. Love the humor. The writer kind of sneaks it in quietly and before you know it, you're snickering out loud over what happened or what was said or thought. I really did like it and hope to see more stories from this bard. Thanks alot for the chuckles, Uncaged Amazon. - Dreamer Feb 5th, 2004 |
Hey Shadylady, Very nice ending...Hope that happens to me next time I'm in the air. - Stacy Feb 5th, 2004 |
Loved it, when will we see more? - Rhea Feb 5th, 2004 |
Wow. EVERYONE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO READ THIS STORY! I'm glad I did. My heart laughed, cryed and ached through every word. Worth reading over and over. - rhonda Feb 4th, 2004 |
I think that u need 2 put Lamia bck on the Athenaeum, it sounds like a GOOD story, so that's why i'm asking PLEASE! put it back, K? - Marsha Brown Feb 4th, 2004 [Fan Fiction Editor's Note: If anyone can find this story, we'll post it...] |
[Fan Fiction Editor's Note: This Comment contains Soilers.] What a wonderful story. I've read this story just once and didn't want to read it again, because of the ending. Yet it has made such an impression on me that after three years I still think about it once in a while. It will leave you wanting more and I've been waiting for that ever since I read it. Yet over time I came to respect Zzelami's choice and can't help but love this piece as it is: Wonderful, yet heart-wrenching. - Michelle W. Feb 4th, 2004 |
Very enlightening story, reminds me why I may not go to amusement parks then it makes me wonder why I don't spend all my time there. Good job. - Shadylady Feb 3rd, 2004 |

WOW...I don't know what to say...this story has just turned into one of my all time favorites...Truly wonderfully! - Liyah J. King Feb 1st, 2004 |
Gotta like this story! LOL I love it Eveh! It's really fun to read and I've had all my friends read it...they seem to think I have a lot in common with one of your characters...I don't know why? I give this story 11 out of 10! Wonderful story, as always, Eveh! - Polly Feb 1st, 2004 |
A fantastic story filled with romance, action, and mystery! One of my favorites. Don't forget to vote for Fire Within for the top 100. It definitely deserves a high spot, and so do Anita Louise's other stories. Check them out! She's such a talented writer. - Jane Bond Feb 1st, 2004 |
Just getting into "conqueror" stories. And Melissa Good has done it again with a fabulous story of X&G. I hope she continues the tale. MUST READ!! - BratIsMe Jan 31st, 2004 |
A bevy of butt-kicking, intelligent, and gorgeous women head up the cast of this exceptional mystery. Anita Louise offers another well-written adventure that will transport the reader to exotic locales, place you in the middle of danger, and face-to-face with an element of the supernatural. And just in time for Valentine's Day, Anita puts the reader in the mood for romance as she weaves tales of enduring love within this novel. Will you be able to solve the mystery before the heroines? It will be quite the challenge, even for super sleuths. - Rachel Jan 31st, 2004 |
WOW!!! I feel as if Larisa was looking into my heart while writing this story. Maybe some day I will see my "two trees". I think that the readers who were more concerened with the typographical errors were missing the point of the story and living in "John's world". I guess some people just never do get a clue! - Susie Jan 31st, 2004 |
Oh, yeah, the Fire Within has so many tendrils of flames feeding marvelous characters, romance, plots, mysterious goings on and a hairy horror not born from a bad hair salon. You will cringe at times, put new wrinkles in your forehead trying to figure out the who the numerous bad guys are and get a free suntan following the characters to valleys & desert locations. The gals are gorgeous, lovable, funny and fend quite well dealing with the bad guys. Not much this story failed to weave well into it pages. Don't miss this one and encourage the bard to write a sequel. Just too characters you want to see again and follow to another adventure. How about it, Anita Louise? - O Ger Jan 30th, 2004 |
This story reads like a great mystery novel..with the characters intertwining within and around one another... loved it....looking forwards to a sequel. - Christi Jan 30th, 2004 |
Enjoyed the story, and I am the type of person where if you don’t catch my interest in the first few paragraphs, then I am going to read something that will. Well written, I look forward to new adventures by the characters and a sequel. R. - Anonymous Jan 30th, 2004 |
Okay, so here I was, looking for somethin' to read when I happen upon this story. Now, I get kinda picky at what story I want to read. But once I read the first chapter, I got hooked. I'm going mad, waiting AND wanting to know what happens next. This story is absofreakinlutely, positively, in all honesty GREAT!!! Need I say more? - xluvr Jan 29th, 2004 |
Wow. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to discover this writer. I started out with her BTVS fiction and came here from there. You gotta check this out. - The Queen Jan 28th, 2004 |
This is a wonderful start. I love the humorous portrayal of corporate life. - Lisa Jan 28th, 2004 |
Well I JUST read all your work man all i can say is i hope there will be more please write more thanks - kahlan rahl Jan 27th, 2004 |
This is really a fantastic story and so much strong emotion in it which made my heart ache and also satisfied me because i always wants to read stuff like this.GOOD JOB CRUISE!!!! - johnie Jan 27th, 2004 |
If you are looking for a story with a little mystery, a lot of romance and a huge dose of humour then this is definitely the one that will fill the bill. Personally I have never read one of Larisa'a tales that didn't make my day better, she is always entertaining and I think we all owe her a big thank you for sharing her amazing talent with us. - Alex P Jan 26th, 2004 |
such a sad tale, but well worth readin, the pain is sometime worth it to have atleast loved once in a life time,JUST BECAUSE!!!! you did it again SL!!!! you surprise me everytime! I cant TY enough my dear AA.... - Wizzy Jan 26th, 2004 |
Reading this again just now. I find myself drawn into it as if Im right there...Very well written! way to go FB....I love these kind of stories and cant wait for more from you!!!!!!!! - BS Jan 26th, 2004 |
The author kept the story moving though out. Justice and Ashley are depicted as normal people with the ability to do their jobs with confidence, rather than as super perfect human beings that can do no wrong. This story was refreshing and more relatable then stories that make the main characters unbelievably perfect. Damage is a must read. - JAG Jan 26th, 2004 |
This story unexpectedly crept up and stole my attention without me even realizing it until I reached the end. It starts out a little slow but by the time you get a few pages into the story you are totally engrossed in the characters and can't wait to see what happens next. I really hope Ms. Ruskin writes a sequel. This story is the exact opposite of UP THE RIVER which has lots of action and drama right from the beginning. MYSTI MISTRESS OF DREAMS has a little bit of everything, drama, humor, and lots of romance. If you want a nice easy read for one of those cold snowy winter nights that are best spent indoors give this story a try. - Mary Kies Jan 24th, 2004 |
Excellent story that is beautifully told. The characters are fully realized and believable. The humour is just right. Fantastic read! - kj Jan 24th, 2004 |
Sometimes the thrill of romance is being in an antagonistic relationship. You are so right that love is so akin to hate that sometimes it is difficult to tell one from the other. Very good story, thank you for sharing. - Shadylady Jan 23rd, 2004 |
All I can say is.....More Please - A. Noni Mouse Jan 23rd, 2004 |
This story produces addiction. I couldn’t stop reading till the end, and then, I couldn’t stop thinking of the characters. Great one. - Pru Jan 23rd, 2004 |
Ummm any one for lunch? You can invite me any time. - Anonymous Jan 22nd, 2004 |
Hot and loving, very well done. - Anonymous Jan 22nd, 2004 |
I thought the first part killed me, it had nothing on the sequel. I just hope that I am blessed someday with the kind of love these two women have. Thank you SL for writing such a heart twisting story. - G Jan 22nd, 2004 |
I sit here crying as I write this. Such a beautiful story full of emotion. I just wish it could have ended happily, but than life is not always fair. - G Jan 22nd, 2004 |
great, please finish must find out what happens - Anonymous Jan 22nd, 2004 |
Yowza....This story was scorching yet touching. Thank you for making my day. - G Jan 22nd, 2004 |
This remains one of my all time favourite stories, it's so cleverly written and so bloody witty. It's a shame the author had to take most of her work offline, but this and it's sequels are available to buy (or so I've heard). Anyway, I recommend this to anyone looking for a story with sharp wit, deviance and a demon or two. Oh hell even if you aren't looking for that read it anyway! - Jade Devlin Jan 22nd, 2004 [Fan Fiction Editor's Note: The above story and it's sequel, The Average of Deviance (148 pages) are still available online. They've also been published through Fortitude Press, Inc. and can be found there or on Amazon.com. |
I went through something like Gabrielle did it was pretty much just like that. I handled it alone and I really wished for someone like Xena to care for me. Its a very good story I enjoyed it alot despite bringing up a very painful memory of my own. - jan Jan 20th, 2004 |
You did it again Lady J. This story is very humorous and entertaining. I'm looking forward to the next part. - Windsong Jan 20th, 2004 |
Fabulous!!! Please...keep going! - Anonymous Jan 20th, 2004 |
A business tycoon on a mission and Las Vegas show girl that has some how managed to retain some of her innocence - the potential for this story is enormous! Hope to see more of it soon! - GW Jan 20th, 2004 |
Looks like Fantasy Bard's done it again...oooooooooooooooo yeaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!! Thanks, I mean really...Thank You ( : - Anonymous Jan 19th, 2004 |
Good story!!! Wish the author would finish it. I would love to know the end. - BratIsMe Jan 19th, 2004 |
I truely enjoyed this offering from the pen of Larisa -- but then when don't I - talk about lots of frustration -- nothing like being told no, forget it, never in a million years to get one going. - LInda Jan 18th, 2004 |
Gal, do you you know how to spin a story!!!!! This is the best story I have read!!! I simply loved it!!! I loved the flirty banter between our warrior and her bard-loved the whole friendship between our duo and how you spiced up with that love scene in the end!!! I am horrified to learn you only wrote two stories-what a waste babe!!! You truly are a gifted bard-gabby would be proud!!1 plz write more!!! I can't wait!!! Luv ya all and subtext rulz!!!! - Nikita Jan 18th, 2004 [Fan Fiction Editor's Note: Brit Bard left the Xenaverse several years ago to pursue her own orginal writing. She has two books in print: Keeper of the Piece, and Constellations Of The Heart. Two more novels are on the way as well! Her books are published by Windstorm Creative (Windstormcreative.com). Of course Amazon.com has them as well! J |
Sequel Please!!! I loved how you wrote this story but you left some unfinished business that MUST be resolved. It's been a long time since any new shipper stories have be written and I truely like yours so please write a sequel to this story. It's truely a good read!!! - Anonymous Jan 17th, 2004 |
Really good story! The characters were likable and believable and had great chemistry. I enjoyed it a lot. - Peggy Jan 16th, 2004 |
thought it was wonderful. just happened on it while scrolling thru, love that T. Stratton - peaches Jan 16th, 2004 |
You know, if i'd gone to a school with a headmistress like that...I'd be a PhD right now. Good read...very, very, very good read. N Jan 16th, 2004 - Anonymous Jan 16th, 2004 |
[Fan Fiction Editor's Note: Well post the sequel on our next update. I love this story, i hope there is a sequel, pleasee pleaseee!! - Anonymous Jan 16th, 2004 |
This is a wonderfully written story, absolutely hilarious and definitely one of the best I have read thus far. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different, a little quirky and a whole lot of funny. Positootly brilliant! - Jade Devlin Jan 15th, 2004 |
G, this one touched me the first time I read it...and again tonight as I re-read the words, I felt tears stinging and a heart wrenching feeling...Its never easy to loose the one you love, but in the end love will win! I am so glad you shared this with us and then posted it!!!!!!!! I look forward to more from you my friend! - Wizzy Jan 15th, 2004 |
This is another one of Ali Vali's fine writings. If you've read any of Ali's stories and liked them, then you will definately like this one. It's funny, romantic and sweet. Thoroughly enjoyable. - Anonymous Jan 15th, 2004 |
I just finished reading Mayt's Conqueror story, "My Lord" and found it to be excellent. The conqueror genre is one of my favorites and I try to read them all. This one has wonderful character development. We watch two women with very different histories (Xena, the Conqueror and Gabrielle, the slave) struggle to over come their past losses in life to find love with each other. I highly recommend this story. - Patricia Jan 15th, 2004 |
powerful stuff in so few words. great job. anymore from this? - rita h. Jan 14th, 2004 |
Never in my life would I ever think I would have to mail my bra to anyone. But I must say you pulled off the bet and wrote a story that deserves for me to do what I never thought I would do. MAIL YOU MY BRA! This story has humor and romance. Two ingredients that make a good story. Great job!! - T2 Jan 14th, 2004 |
This story is great. I highly recommend it. It shows that someone does stuff to protect the one she loves, but in the end is shown that they need the love one to get through a very tough patch in life. Should teach us all that no matter what don't make the decisions for someone else. Let them choose and they might surprise you. - T. Stratton Jan 14th, 2004 |
Clever humor and a sweet romance. Laughed the whole time. Can’t wait to see what’s next. - Anonymous Jan 14th, 2004 |
Judgements on Xena and Gabrielle's relationship (in your minds people, remember that) and suppositions on the writer's own past miss the beauty of this story. I think this is a great work. The quality of the writing is exceptional, wish I found it more often. This is an original subject for this forum. And then especially for me it touched a very sensitive point as I have a fear not of being the victim but the subconscious aggressor. Thank you Lariel, for writing a piece which touched me. - Anonymous Jan 14th, 2004 |
Too funny and romantic as hell. I always wanted to be superman and fly with a cape but never did my fantasies get this far - hot damn. - Shadylady Jan 14th, 2004 |
Love So Right is a wonderful story of sadness, love and hope. It is a real pleasure to read about the conflicts of life and how human nature and love can overcome even the most dire circumstances. Thanks Dani for allowing us to enjoy your tale. - Shadylady Jan 14th, 2004 |
Wow. Really moving. Definitely worth a read. - Anonymous Jan 14th, 2004 |
Hey Shady...I've heard that when it rains it pours, but I don't think they had this in mind. This is one heck of a story Shadylady!!!! Hope I get a rain check half as good...hint hint..lol - Anonymous Jan 14th, 2004 |
This story is wonderful. Alex and Sydney will melt your heart. You will stayed glued to the screen with this one all night. Don't miss it. Also read the sequel Aftermath. It's a great follow up to an awesome beginning. - southern belle Jan 13th, 2004 |
I'll usually pass on a conqueror story, but I love CN's writing and gave this a try. To my surprise this was very good and I read it from end to end. - Anonymous Jan 13th, 2004 |
"I am overjoyed to announce that The Price of Fame will be available in print very soon from StarCrossed Productions (that's www.StarCrossedProductions.com). Now, before you go asking why you should bother shelling out money you could be spending on half a nice dinner somewhere when you can read the story right here, let me count the reasons why: First, there are 23 new scenes in the print version that you can't find anywhere else, including here. Second, a good book lasts a lot longer than a good half dinner. Third, buying the book will save eye strain (hey, I'm just looking out for your best interests here...sitting in front of your computer screen to read 300 pages is hell on your vision). Fourth, my dog likes to eat, and I confess that it's a nasty habit of mine every now and then, too. So, if you want to take the story out for a test spin here, be my guest; I hope you love it. And if you're like me and you just can't resist the feel of a good book in your hands, I hope you'll go out (or surf) and buy it.
Thanks for your support,
Lynn Ames.
This is a fantastic story, it has a sequel availbale on Creme Brulees website, which I haven't bookmarked for some unexplainable reason! You'll just have to go find it urselves. :) - Stephanie Jan 11th, 2004 - [Fan Fiction Editor's Note: Or why not let us do it for you? The sequel is The Happless Romantic (Revisited). |

This and the previous one are fantastic stories I am sure you will enjoy. - Pru Jan 9th, 2004 |
This was such an increadble story I could not stop reading. I found myself wondering what was going to happen next. I never would have thought of Xena not knowing who she is but I was enthralled by the story. Thank you. - jac Jan 9th, 2004 |
[This Comment contains spoilers.] Zee's stories are incredibly well crafted and always a pleasure to read. Remy, as with many of Zee's protagonists, is very easy to identify with--a real human who is often shy, awkward or at a loss for what to say or do in a given situation. Megan is quite real too; and she is magnificent as she fights her way off the pedestal Remy's placed her on. Oh, and the scene on the airplane with the demon child was hysterical! I've often wished I had the chutzpah to deal with it the way Remy does. I look forward to reading more of Zee's work. - saphire Jan 8th, 2004 |
Interesting approach to handling business problems, wish mine worked as easily and as much fun. Would definately like to see future relationship between R.C. and Chelsea. - Anonymous Jan 8th, 2004 |
In response to the following..."This has got to be my favourite story by this bard. I heard from a friend that a book of it has been published, where on this page do we submit our order for it? - Anonymous Jan 6th, 2004" Yes, the book is being published by Dare2Dream. You can access the order information from our (mine and S. Anne's) web page, www.geminifiction.com. I think that I have the link to Dare2Dream right there on the main page. - Lisa Jan 8th, 2004 |

Creme has a sweet understated way with romance. This is a funny, quirky first person pining for the girl she finally gets. Great read. - E Jan 8th, 2004 |
Not just a Christmas story but a wonderful romance! - GW Jan 7th, 2004 |
This was praised to death so I had to see what all the hubbub was about. This was very good, I liked the idea of Gabrielle being strong, the lead and this time around Xena had to be the one standing in the background. The only thing I had a hard time with was the ending, But otherwise it was a very good tale I followed all the way to the ending. - Anonymous Jan 7th, 2004 |
One anonymous to another, this is to the other post. I'm a huge subtexter and I read this, you know I liked it. Sometimes it gets tiring reading the same thing over and over. Xena looks at Gabrielle, I love you Xena. I love you too Gabrielle then they fall between one another's thighs and screw like bunnies happily ever after. It was nice to read something that was different and surprising. Very good on you to do something original and follow a beat to a different drummer. JMTC. - Anonymous Jan 7th, 2004 |
I was recommended this by my other half and it's a great 'little' story. We both agree that Uber X is one of the most lovely, goofy and honest ones we've read. - sapphie Jan 7th, 2004 |
*wow* this is a tender and elegant story of awakening. simply beautiful. - fanfic gourmet Jan 7th, 2004 |

Excellent! Like an episode of CSI, only better! This author's stories are intelligent, well-written and imaginative. I can't wait to see her in print. - saphire Jan 7th, 2004 |
Wow! Heart-wrenching and poignant. A must-read for anyone who's ever been betrayed or hurt by a lover. - saphire Jan 6th, 2004 |
I felt this story touching my heartstrings. I laughed and cried and lost myself in the words. I think this is a well-written legacy for the author, and a gift to all Xena fans. Thank you. - Moregan25 Jan 6th, 2004 |
Flawless pacing. Holds your attention ruthlessly from start and waiting for the finish. Incredible sex. - detroit007 Jan 6th, 2004 |

[This Comment contains spoilers.] I am not a person that likes vampire storyies, but this one realy made me see the light. It has class and style and I say Larisa sure is better then Ann Rice...Well I faver Larisa's stories anyway. Thumbs up.. fangs down. - SammyLee Jan 4th, 2004 |

Capon´s Savage has something I belive we all want to find in life, that special one that just completes us. Larisa has created a mini world of humor and lovely caracters for us to follow in this wild savage story. I recommened it dearly. The usall WARNING of not eatign or drinking anything while reding Larisa's stories applies hear too. (I should know it just cost me a good keybord,t hat unfotunetly was not coffe profed) - SammyLee Jan 4th, 2004 |
What a story!!! mystery, suspense, love, PASSION, angst. Advocate has this tendency to glue you to the screen and no matter where you are you can't keep thinking of the story until you get to the end. heart-wrenching and heart-warming tale that is the absolute must read. thanx to Advocate and her Muse. - Katrina Jan 4th, 2004 |
As always a superb story from Larisa's mind.It has character, charm, witt and lots of humor. Sweet and lovely baby story in copstyle alla Larisa. Well worth rading. - SammyLee Jan 3rd, 2004 |
[This Comment contains spoilers.] This was a great read. I liked the unique way you brought the twins into the story and how the addition made the women realize their feelings for one another was deeper than friendship. I would love to see a sequel to this and see the other set of blonde twins brought in! Maybe the pair decide to have another set or adopt more! - Intrepid judge3 Jan 3rd, 2004 |
One says a picture says more than a thousand words. That may be true. This story is the first one entered into the Pic Challenge. It was inspired by a picture of 2 pairs of babies and 2 ladies and a sign saying twins onboard. It is in itself not much to go with. Ri has filled us in on the version she sees behind this picture and I have to tell you folks, I feel truly honored to have been able to take part in it by reading her story. The story portrays a short space in time where big changes are happening. It portrays honest emotions that the characters feel. It shows events that are truly something special. I would not mind finding a sequel to this one in the month to come. (hint hint to the author) - Intrepid judge1 Jan 3rd, 2004 |
[This Comment contains spoilers.] This story was a great. You understood the shock and anger Tara felt when she saw Maria step out of the plane with the two babies was understandable. The way Maria found it hard to tell Tara was also understandable. The way the two babies would change their lives forever is an understatement. It brought them together like they had hoped for years. Love comes in small packages. Yet sometimes in those small packages is the biggest love of all. - Intrepid judge2 Jan 3rd, 2004 |
Loved the twists and turns this tale took! I loved how she placed them in the U.S. instead of a third world country! I laughed, I cried, and basically had a great time reading this! - Intrepid Judge2 Jan 3rd, 2004 |
Ever meet Secret Squirrel or a femme version of Dr.Who? Well neither had I before reading this entertaining story. Anyone that likes Larisa’s adventures is sure to love this one. It has whit charm and humor that take you on a tummy crunching exercise while reading it. It measures up good and has all the pre-stated challenge statements in them. We are truly taken for a ride with this story to locations I never had visited before. We get to follow two characters that truly are a discovery all in themselves. Though this story is long it does not feel that way when you have gotten into it, and when you reach the final line, you wish there was more to come. - Intrepid judge1 Jan 3rd, 2004 |
Truly a hilarious adventure. This story is one of the funniest pieces I have read in a long while. From the chicken dance to a squirrel tattoo…just out of this world funny. My favorite line out of the whole story was.. “I’m a Pervert not a fighter.” I laughed my ass off. - Intrepid Judge3 Jan 3rd, 2004 |
[This Comment contains spoilers.] Wow! This was a truly unique spin on the song challenge. I loved how you interwove the song lyrics into the story and made the plot about the lyrics! It was wonderful, heart wrenching and beautiful. I'd love to see a sequel and see what happens next! What happens with Heather? How do they explain Kelly's return? So many questions! - Intrepid judge2 Jan 3rd, 2004 |
[This Comment contains spoilers.] This story totally took me by suprise. I read the Challenge statements and the song there- "Every way that I can". I started reading and had in mind that the song was to appear in the text somewhere. Just a short moment later I had totally forgotten about the song and was totally captivated by the story playing out right before my eyes. It is probably the best thriller mystery I have read online.I am truly amazed by the clever way this author has implemented the challenge statement into the story. It is so different then anything I have read that I know I will carry it with me a long long time. The story holds the excitement and tension that is created in the start all the way to the resolvement of it. We can truly feel with the character we get to follow. The pain and loss over someone truly dear to that one. The loneliness that she feels every day in all she does is portrayed beautifully and dead on. - Intrepid Judge 1 Jan 3rd, 2004 |
Hot stuff! But romantic true to Alex's style. What a great piece! Makes you wonder about the woman mentioned in the disclaimer who inspired such a story though. Thanks for this little PWP, Alex! - Anonymous Jan 3rd, 2004 |
Extremely different for this author. Well done though! A pleasure to read. Makes you wonder what happens after the last line had been read. Where to Virginia and Duke go from there? - Anonymous Jan 3rd, 2004 |
Well, after reading the story and the other comments made, I can officially say I don't know what to think. On the one hand, very well written, thought provoking and somewhat horrifying. On the other hand, I can't say that I like the idea of Gabrielle feeling obligated to have a sexual relationship with Xena. Though this is definitely not my take on their relationship, I can see where it is a valid view point, and it makes me wonder if the author, at one time, felt obligated to submit to something she truly did not wish to. That thought saddens me, because it seems like a very lonely way to live. At any rate, I don't find it my place to set judgement on anyone, especially someone brave enough to post something that they had to know would be very controversial in the Xenaverse. Rabid sub-texters, I'm sure, are turning red and digging their nails into their desks, even as I make this comment. Unfortunately, that means that many will judge this story unfairly, but then, it's all about personal taste, isn't it? - Anonymous Jan 3rd, 2004 |

wow, this is powerful. definitely not an ordinary tale, good that it's short too - the point made and idea planted - amazing! usually love is not like that but thank you Lariel for showing the different types of it. - Katrina Jan 2nd, 2004 |
This story amazed me. While reading along with the story, I feel so sad of what happen to Gabrielle and Xena. It moves me what Gabrielle has gone through, and Xena help along the way. You be crying through this story. R.D.Elliot did a wonderful job in this story. You're a good bard. - Bay Jan 2nd, 2004 |
*hih*... *laugh*... fart... God, were you get this staff??? - Honeybee Jan 1st, 2004 |
Finally someone explains what love can do to a soul. But yet who is the monster? The one who gave so freely or the one who took it for granted and used it until there was nothing left? Just an empty feeling. Thank you for showing the other side of how cruel life can be! Very well written and I look forward to more from this bard!(SOON)! lol - Wizzy Jan 1st, 2004 |
This story was really funny. You can actually picture all of them doing what they did. I loved it. - Martie Dec 31st, 2003 |
