Life continues on Heaven without Consortium interference until one of the colonists is sick. Bad news quickly shifts to worst news when an outbreak of Monolial Disease is diagnosed. Unable to get Consortium medicine, Jordana is forced to rely on the Noorthi healers to come up with a cure. Of course, nothing ever goes smoothly when Jordana is involved and soon the healers’ herbs run out, leaving them with no choice but to search for the Noorthi home planet.

There is only one problem. It doesn’t exist. At least that is what the universe is telling her. But in Malt’s trusty hands, all four of them, she performs the impossible and gives them a direction for their mercy flight.

What is supposed to be a simple pick-up flight turns into a nightmare for Jordana. Can she keep herself focused long enough to get the herbs necessary to cure the sick colonists? Will the Noorthi leader’s interest in Beri be her undoing? Or, more to the point, will the leader’s eight-foot “protector” take her apart, piece by piece? Can Jordana live up to the expectation of being the Ratha?
